Tried the Japanese Miso with a side of Calamari this time. The miso tasted weird, a bit on the sour side. The meat and overall meal was not very tasty. The calamari with the sweet sauce was not bad, although it was a bit soggy. Definitely not the best experience I've hard here but I would say the server and service was A+. Was even tempted to bump this review up to a 4 for them but I have to refrain to focusing on the food this time.

Beef Hot Pot !

Rare find in Oxnard to have an authentic Taiwanese Chinese "hot pot" restaurant. Twelve varieties of hot pot choices each one easily feeds two to three. The eclectic menu is not like a typical Chinese restaurant, but much more healthy, delicious and reasonably priced for the size of servings. As a Chinese person, I would recommend and will revisit.

Great service! Food was delicious and accommodating to allergies! :) Upon entering, we were given a choice of where we want to sit (which i really appreciate), there were a good amount of people but not too much where we had to wait long for our service. Everything was reasonably priced and the staff were very knowledgeable about the menu and food items. Had a great first experience here, i will recommend and revisit :)

It's always nice to find a good Asian restaurant in the 805. It's even better when the staff speaks your native language (Vietnamese). This is a very good option if you want to have tasty hot pot without the guilt of an All You Can Eat restaurant. The service on a weekday lunch was very quick and not crowded. The soup ingredients are fresh and delicious. You can always add more ingredients with the à la carte menu. And the broth is amazingly smooth and comforting. I ordered the very spicy level and still enjoyed the broth, not too hot. The restaurant is large and clean, we have no complaints about this location and look forward to returning.

This restaurant does justice for any hot pot cravings you might have. My family and I decided to try this place for the first time and we were all satisfied at the end of our meal. The staff seemed to be very friendly and attentive to our needs but there is also an option to order without talking to staff (if that is your vibe). Will be back again!

Taiwanese supreme spicy hot

I've ordered a couple of things to go so far. I've tried the kimchi hot pot and the Taiwanese supreme spicy hot. I loved the kimchi hot pot it was filled with veggies and very generous serving. the Taiwanese supreme spicy is pretty good as well. Lots of beef and veggies. I also ordered the beef sizzling with rice, it's good but it's not worth the price for the serving size. The hot pot are worth it, but might be better if you eat it at the restaurant. The service is good, they are pretty fast. The ambience is very family friendly. Nothing negative to say, it is the ONLY decent hot pot in the entire city of Oxnard and Ventura.

The portion was a lot smaller than I expected for the price. I liked that the food stayed hot for a while because of the flame on the bottom! The workers there were nice, they came by once to fill up the broth. Hope to see more people come by!

The ongoing growth of Asian cuisine in Oxnard over the last few years has been great for those of us who have travelled for good eats. Tasty Pot is a spot that we have always wanted to visit and glad that this Taiwanese experience is now here. This is yummy and I'm so happy that we tried it. Service was great and we were well attended to. Food came out quick and the staff were definitely pleasant. Decent amount of seating available inside the restaurant. Started to fill up around dinner time. Glad to see they had traffic - we need this plate to succeed. Portions are deceptively large. I had the Kimchi dumplings pot and it was incredible. 10/10. Next time, I'll be getting the same thing. Extra Spicy Heat was not overwhelming head but added a ton of flavor. Those dumplings were perfect. Rice cake, fish ball and an egg. Didn't go wrong. I also mixed all 4 sauces provided in this. Mouth is watering thinking about it. My wife loved her Japanese Miso - medium heat. She says she would get the same thing again. My daughter would get her beef pot again. My son enjoyed the cheesy milk but said he would try something different next time. Thought he would like this as he is a fan of the military stew at Ragin Pot in Hueneme but this didn't hit the same. The kids said their Thai Teas were very good. Looking forward to coming back here.

Love a great soup spot!!! Tasty Pot is consistent no matter the location. This one we went to since we were in town. Had a bigger party and was able to call and make a reservation no problem. The staff was attentive and kind. The soup was so delish! Burned my tongue a bit, but so worth it. Would definitely grub here again!

I was helping out in Oxnard for the afternoon, and seeing that the day was gloomy and cold. I immediately thought of something warm to eat. To my surprise, Tasty Pot was close to where I was supposed to be at and well, after sitting in 2 hours of traffic, I was hungry. Tasty Pot is right off the 101 Freeway on Vineyard and located in a strip mall alongside a boba shop and Carls Jr. Arriving at around noon on a Friday, parking was incredibly easy as I got a spot right in front with plenty of spaces around. The restaurant is clean and well kept with a large space. Parties of 10+ will not have a problem here. Sitting down and ordering, I got the beef pot (medium hear) with rice with a side of extra beef and quail eggs. Since it is lunch it came with a free tea, which to me was a wonderful surprise. The hot put came out with a burner along with my additions. Let me start with the broth. So tasty, clean aftertaste, oh and they refill it! The beef itself was well done and along with the additions (mushrooms, tofu, cabbage) filled me up. Safe to say, my hunger was well satisfied. For a rating I would give it 8/10. The broth really won me over, but I feel that the beef shavings needed a bit more flavor. They have multiple types of bowls, so I would recommend either coming with friends, or multiple visits! Look forward to the next visit!

Amazing hot pot place! I tried the Thai Hot pot and beef Hot pot and they were both delicious. the base is a pork broth and they add flavoring for each specific choice. plenty of meat and veggies and 4 different choices to for a custom made dipping sauce. Also tried theirmulk tea and it was pretty good. There was a sign on the window that stated free tea with lunch but we didn't receive any. May be you have to ask for it? staff is very nice and attentive and the location was clean. Plenty of parking.

I love that Tasty Pot has come to Oxnard! My friends and I came during opening week (opening day actually) and we had a fabulous time. Always impressed when a new restaurant can fully execute A+ service and a phenomenal dining experience on opening day. This spot will only get better with time but they are already off to an amazing start. My friends and I wandered in around 5pm and were able to get sat immediately. It's seat yourself. This restaurant isn't too big so I'm sure there will be longer wait times the more that people start to learn about this place. Restaurant was clean and inviting. I loved the decor with cute little lights and the artwork / painting behind the counter was cool. The menu is pretty big with hotpot options, additional toppings, appetizers and drinks. Ordering is a little more unique as you scan a barcode on your table and then place your order that way. Once you are done eating you would pay at the counter. This ordering system had to be explained to us because at first we weren't exactly sure what to do but now we know and it's easy peasy. Plus if you are reading this you now have the advantage of you know how it works :). Prices seemed very reasonable for the amount of food that we were given. Definitely come hungry because the hotpot's are a lot of food! To start I had a peached iced tea with 75% sweetness and it was so delicious. I love a good sweet tea. Very refreshing and compliments the hotpot well. Lots of boba teas and fun drink options here. My friend got a taro drink which also looked pretty tasty. A good tea is definitely 5/5 always in my book. For my hotpot I opted for the classic mild beef pot. Definitely a comforting dish. I love how loaded all of the proteins and toppings are in this soup. The broth was very very light. Normally I'm more of rich broth type of a girl (like a ramen) but having something on the lighter side was nice. Good flavor to the broth but to kick it up a notch I added a little bit of garlic and chili oil. The beef was tender and I really liked the clams, mushrooms and cabbage in my soup. Pro tip: get the side of white rice - loved adding it to the soup for some needed thickness. I'd say hotpot was about a 4/5 for me. Comforting and unique for me as I had never tried it before. Staff and service were very warm and friendly. You could tell the staff were eager to help and excited about opening day. I thought everyone here did a great job and made us feel welcome. Tasty Pot is well worth a trip if you are a local or visiting the Oxnard area. A fun new restaurant to try and I'd love to come back to try some different soup bases and toppings.

Made it in on Opening Day. I was immediately greeted and shown a seat ! Large space with tons of seating ! So many pots to choose from! They also offer Boba drinks ! Appetizers like Fried Chicken ... calamari , dumplings and etc. Only negative , the shrimp isn't deveined and I couldn't eat that. I hope in the future, they consider cleaning the shrimp out. I ordered the #8 ( medium spice) and it was spicy . I liked my soup overall . So excited they are finally open !

We let the group pass us and entered the restaurant. We were promptly seated at a corner table and given menus. It did take a bit for the server to come back to take our order, but we did realize we came in 1/2 hour before closing, so we eased off a bit. My partner order the hot pot and was very happy with his choice. The server came back with a hot plate and instructed us how to cook the meat. I was a bit apprehensive about having to cook my own food, but the fragrant smell as it cooked changed my mind. The broth was flavorful and the veg and meat were tender as they soaked up the soupy goodness. I also ordered the boa buns and the pillowy texture, mixed with the soft pork and crunchy cucumber and carrots made my belly sing. We slurped up our food and cleared out as quickly as we could. I hate being that person that lingers at closing time. What I do regret is that I did not take more time at their counter as we exited because it was full of snacks and curios that I love. Next time for sure!

I'd been doing Instacart orders from them but first time physically inside this weekend to check them out. The inside was super super clean. Major points there! In the time I was shopping around they had plenty of staff working, floors being mopped and all of the aisles were well organized and pretty. This market is a pretty standard Asian goods focused grocery store. I found about 85% of what I wanted here. I wish they had a premium sushi section and some more Hawaiian imported goods (aside from juices and sauces) but otherwise I was able to find everything I was looking for. Their hot bar is also solid. A wide selection of items to pick and I felt the pricing was reasonable. Actually throughout the whole store the prices are good compared to other grocery stores right now. I had a full bag of items for $50, good luck elsewhere getting those kinds of prices. I didn't have too much of an interaction with the staff while there, but again, lots of people working and keeping this spot in tip top shape. Also the woman working the register who checked me out was very nice. A great supermarket and I'll definitely be back more often now since checking them out.

Through out the night there was free gifts, contests and lots of dancing. Overall fun family event to enjoy. Seafood City is located in a strip mall. Lots of free parking. I occasionally shop here for speciality asian items that I couldn't find at Island Pacific. Prices are a bit steeper here. Service is decent here, for both the food court and supermarket.

Also, super hot tea in a pot to share, the Chinese year calendar placemats, big round tables for large parties (5+) and a backroom for even larger parties. Yolanda's downtown put in a separate little backroom when they remodeled, but hardly any other restaurants seem to have them anymore. Love the vibe, but if the food sucked we wouldn't go. And we go, we go a lot, we are regulars. FRESHEST vegetables, soft velveted chicken pieces, not hard tasteless rubber chicken, and served HOT, freshly made and quick. On the lunch special menu, I recommend the chicken with string beans that comes with a full flavored brown sauce or the milder chicken with vegetables with a colorless clear glaze, both with vegetables so fresh and perfectly cooked, they can restart a healthy habit eating week. Hub is a fan of the hot and sour soup that comes with the lunch specials. He says it's the best he's had, and he eats out almost everyday all over. Also he likes the hot mustard they have. I guess there's a difference and he says there's is authentic and the best. I get the egg flower, which is plainer and just what I want if tucking in for some hot cozy soup before chicken, rice and vegetables, both served piping hot. They used to serve an egg roll with the lunch special, but no more and the fried rice used to have vegetable squares in it, but now only soy sauce it seems, in case you haven't been here in a while and don't know. Last, the orange chicken is really good and used to be my usual lunch special, but it got knocked off that pedestal by the chicken and vegetables, which along with the chicken and string beans, is craveable.

After a few minutes I was ready to order. At that time the older lady still haven't brought me the tea. The server went to take the order of the table next to me, even though they were seated later than me, and then came to take my order. There were two times the server used my table to put things down that she couldn't hold on to when serving the table behind me. One was the water pitcher (I didn't have any water) and the second time was an empty bowl. She would grab it afterwards but didn't say anything at all both times. I thought that was a bit odd. Prices have gone up. They no longer give the fried wanton crisp with the lunch special. Fried rice was mainly rice, although I did find two little specks of egg. The soup also didn't seem to have as much ingredients as before either. Another thing I noticed was the tip percentages listed on the receipt was after tax. Although the food still tasted good, I will only stick to doing takeout from here.
