We rushed to WaBa Grill tonight after a long day at work, hoping to grab a quick dinner on the way home. As we approached the door, the young girl with dark hair abruptly shut it in our face and coldly said, "We're closing." According to the hours posted on both Yelp and their own door, we still had 12 minutes before closing time. I understand wanting to wrap up for the night, but there's a way to handle it with basic courtesy. Instead, we were met with rudeness and zero concern for customer service. I normally love Waba Grill. It is one of my favorite places. I have had more than one bad experience with this location though. This time, someone picked up an order for me and themselves. He ordered Boom Boom sauce and the store did not change the sauce to what was ordered. I called four times for someone to pick up the fourth time. When they did answer the phone she only offered to give me the sauce and did not understand that the whole bowl was made wrong. I tried to ask for a remake but she said that would not be possible and all I could do was go in to pick up the sauce to add to the bowl. A bowl here is not cheap either. This location is okay, I have been to better ones. I like how large the building is and how it doesn't feel crowded while you're in there but the customer service isn't the best. Underwhelming. I spent almost $30 for dinner with my wife and was not impressed. The Waba Plate was ok, but just ok. The sauce was the best part. The beef was pretty flavorful but the chicken was bland. Also it was about 70/30 chicken to beef instead of 50/50 like you would expect. We also ordered miso soup, which tasted like hot tap water. The salmon plate my wife got was dry and bland, and only became palatable after another sauce packet. Even then it still was just "ok." It might be new restaurant issues since they just opened, but I won't be back. For the price it definitely wasn't worth it. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. I love Waba, just not this location. I have been here 3 times now hoping maybe the food would get better, but it hasn't. Not once have the grills even been on. Whatever protein I've ordered comes out of a warmer (not off the grill), already cooked for who knows how long. I've had the beef and the chicken, and both have been cooked to the point of almost being jerky. Not to mention most the bowl is rice with very little meat on top.
