Knew about this place because I would always get my Korean corn dogs in ktown and I'm so glad I can have it locally at the collection now! I recommend getting the signature set if you want to try a little bit of everything, my personal favorites are the spicy dog and the classic. I tried the new sizzlin sausage fries today and I'm glad that I did! The staff was nice and my order came out pretty fast too. If you're in the mood for a quick bite this is the place to go!

3.5 as service was great. Located at The Collection inside The Annex. What happened to the dog though !? Like ... " Honey I Shrunk The Kids," status. I remember the dog being larger and with more cheese. A lot cheesier . I was really craving that and was left disappointed. I ordered the potato dog filled with mozzarella. No Cheetos dust or sauce. It was so small :/ I didn't want to give them a super low rating because I still liked my dog but size wise ... it's has gotten smaller. They weren't busy. You can find a seat somewhere inside the Annex but I choose to sit outside.

I tried the crispy rice dog with half cheese and half beef. I opted for no added sugar but with just ketchup on top. The corn dog itself isn't seasoned, so I would definitely go with all the suggested condiments next time. The crispy rice added a crunch to the experience and complemented the corndog surprisingly well. I also liked the half cheese and half beef option. You order through the kiosk. They make everything to order, so it did take about 10min for it to be ready. It was a nice snack and really hit the spot.

Stopped by for a quick snack while in the area. Ordering was fast and efficient. It took a couple minutes to fry the dogs but they were efficient and did the toppings and boxed them up quickly. The American Dog was a great option for people who want the classic taste with a new twist. I enjoyed it with the two cheese version.

My favorite, the Two Hands Hot Cheetos, always fill me up. Together with their horchata shake, life is good. They also have this limited edition dubai chocolate donuts and its delicious. Great way to end a good meal.

Best Korean corn dogs I've ever had!! I had to go back and buy a second one because that's how good it was. The food does take a little longer to come out, but that's expected since everything is made fresh. I did feel bad for the employees though because they seemed short-staffed. It was insanely busy even on a Monday night, please hire more people, your employees looked so stressed!!

Service was awesome. Alex was accommodating with the all questions I had. The food was so good! It came out freshly made. My husband loved the beef potato dog, I had the combo with dirty fries and additional side of elote.

Potato Dog with hot Cheetos dust (mozzarella) 8-1-24

This is my second time trying Korean corn dogs and I think they just aren't my thing. I got a ranch corn dog that was half mozzarella and half beef sausage. I also got a potato dog that was all mozzarella and a pineapple slush. My favorites were the ranch corn dog and the slush. The potato corn dog has a special sauce and hot Cheeto dust and it just wasn't my thing. I am not a huge fan of hot Cheetos so that is probably the main reason why this didn't appeal to me. The slushie was definitely better than any 7-11 slush. Highly recommend. It took about 15 minutes for my order to be done. I can appreciate that they are made fresh right on the spot but I feel like they need more help at this location. There should have been two workers preparing food not just one person handing it all. Yelp check in of free drink with an order. I didn't realize it until AFTER I paid for my order. So I guess I will have to go back just to get that free slush which is totally worth it!

I ordered through grubhub. The price seems to have gone up $1 on each item but the item is so small now! I wouldn't get this again or suggest it to others. The corn dogs used to take up most of the box.

    Splinters in my hot dog
    D L.

Well- I came back. Everything has improved a lot since my last visit. Tasty and sauced correctly - yay! I would've given it a 5. Reason for the low rating is there were splinters in my corn dog. When I picked up the corndog,I noticed immediately that the stick was light and brittle. I was cautious while eating and I'm glad I was. Use better quality sticks. I'm willing to give a 3rd chance, but I really hope they get it right next time around.

Arrived around 7pm on a Sunday and were super silly and didn't put in a reservation beforehand, so we had to wait about 30-40 minutes before securing a table (pro tip: GET A RESERVATION! Sunday night is family night, so it will be tough just being able to simply walk in without a wait). After a beer at another location, we got the glorious text from Gen saying our table was ready, so we scrambled to get back ~30minutes later. We were seated and were met with Arvin, our incredible server. Since we all have been there, he didnt have to go through the rigamarole of telling us how to our nght would go, so we got to orderin! First off, the menu is HUUUUUUUUGE. There are so many options to choose from and we got so many things. My personal favorites were: Kimchi fried rice w/ Cheese - so flavorful with a little bit of kick (i love the spicy) Corn Cheese - because of course Spicy Pork bulgolgi - Again Spicy Honey spicy bulgolgi - This surprised me at how much i liked this. So good They even serve my favorite sake here (Kikusui) which was excellent! Great night over at Gen! Arvin, our server was amaxing, gave us lots of recommendations and treated us really well. This was a bit of a going away dinner for myself, but I know that there are tons of other locations of Gen! If I don't catch this particular location again soon, im sure ill be at another up north!

She then made it a point to come back, to my table were I was to apologies again, she was busy at the time doing multiple things. BUT this lady came back! & remembered my name, she was so nice. ERA, BEST GM! She genuinely felt bad about things. She said not only was she taking care of the bill, BUT! She said "I want you to come back & ask for me & I'm going to take care of you" I was surprised but impressed by her costumer service. It was pure, just out of nowhere. I thanked her & went on my way. Now .. The next week, I did go back, asked for Era, she remembered me & sat me personally right away. She was ON IT! It was Night & Day! This was by far my best experience, this is one she expects from all her staff. She greeted me with open arms compt my meal & my waitress Teresa was amazing as well! Era took ownership, no excuses just wanted me to have a great experience how it should be & enjoy all the options! It was great! I'm going back for my Birthday! First, the gal who took our order was super friendly and helpful. The food was really good. Reminded me of We had the original chicken wings, japchae, kimbap, bulgogi bowl and the yuzu and grape ades. All of the dishes were wonderful. Chicken was nice and crispy --good flavor throughout and not greasy at all! The japchae had a great balance of flavors and the shiitake mushrooms, in particular, had really great flavor--must have been marinated for a long time to soak up all the juices! The kimbap was delicious! It was fresh and the pickle in it (Japanese call it takuan, idk what its name in Korean is) was super mild. It didn't overpower the other ingredients. The bulgogi was a solid dish. It had also the glass noodles on one side and plenty of meat and veggies. A good, well-rounded dish. We will come back for bing soo after the kid finishes finals, if it isn't too late! A local regular enthusiastically suggested we try it, so we will be back. The drinks were really delicious as well. Not too sweet and refreshing taste--I think each one is handmade individually. Overall, I highly recommend this place. It has all of the taste of real Korean home cooking at a good price point. You can get quality dishes in a casual in-and-out setting. We will be back for sure!

The bibimbap was very standard -- nothing special or memorable about it. It tasted like a typical Korean bibimbap you can get at many other places, but here it was priced at $12.75, while I've seen similar dishes at other restaurants for under $8. The wings were the same story. A small portion of five wings costs $12.99, and while they tasted fine, they were just ordinary Korean fried wings. Nothing about them really stood out to justify the price. Overall, the food is decent, but there's nothing unique or special that makes the higher prices make sense. In my opinion, the only thing that stands out about this restaurant is that it's overpriced for what it offers.

After a long day on the beach at Oxnard our family stopped by on a Sunday evening for a quick dinner before driving home. The restaurant is seemingly the only survivor left in a strip mall food court, leaving, after sunset, an almost eerie feel with the restaurant taking up one corner of an otherwise empty courtyard. We ordered and our food came quite quickly. We got the Tonkotsu Ramen ($13), which was quite poor; while the proportions were generous the broth was off and the ingredients melded together a bit too much, like a stew kept on for too long. The dinner bento box with teriyaki salmon ($17) was decent though, with great tempura vegetables, excellent fried gyoza, and good, if generic, salmon and spicy tuna maki side. We also got the B.S. II roll (whatever that stands for; $14), a California roll topped with cooked scallops and shrimp and spicy mayo. We've had many variants of this before (my spouse being a cooked sushi fan) and this was fairly mid, as the foodies say these days. A special note should be said for the service; our waitress, while quite busy by the end of the evening, attended to our needs, added on drinks later, and even put on the game at my request. Value, listed above, I found to be quite favorable. The food quality was limited, yet this still made for great budget pick. My expectations weren't high for this Fisherman, but he met them. The steady stream of pickup drivers and other families who came to that empty mall are telling, however. This is a stalwart, stubborn shop in a dying mall - an adequate, budget-friendly sushi place for the people. I can appreciate that. Food: 3.5/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Service: 4.5/5 Value: 5/5

Fishermans sushi is a hidden gem known to those who grew up here and to those who stumbled upon it by chance (like me). The last man standing in a ghost town of what I imagine was a once bustling food court. It's a real testament that they've been able to stay open all these years. This restaurant has character that's for sure. Inside are eager chefs and friendly service, even after all these years. The prices are still insanely reasonable too. My friend and I split a sashimi boat for $45. That was six varieties of fresh fish, each with five large slices of sashimi. HOW?! In this economy?! Grateful that they can serve up fresh sushi at such reasonable prices. Their classic rolls and fried appetizers are also fantastic. My friend and I would both highly recommend their shrimp tempura. Fried up fresh, the batter was crispy and delicate. For rolls, go with the Fisherman's house roll as it was garlicky with a good sauce and fresh. We had a really good time here and definitely feel like it's a well kept secret to those who weren't born and raised here as for lunch it was pretty dead inside. Yet a lot of the locals love it and rave about this spot. Definitely worth checking out, we had a good experience and loved the old time vibes of this place.

Cozy, intimate, and very much a hole in the wall izakaya, this place is all about authentic Japanese flavors and perfectly grilled skewers. There is NO sushi here (they make that very clear), just kushiyaki, small plates, and goooood vibes. I've never been to Japan (yet), but I would imagine this is what it would be like walking into a small mom and pop shop there. The open kitchen is tiny but fun to watch, and from pretty much any seat you can see your food being made. It's a GREAT date night spot, order a bunch of dishes and share everything so much fun. We came for dinner and with a rotating menu of skewers and specials we were satisfied and it kept things interesting! Lunch is more limited, with preset options, but the quality still hits. The donburi is solid, the chicken curry is comforting (could use a little more protein), and the skewers, especially pork belly, chicken & onion, and meatballs, are seasoned and grilled really well. Veggie skewers like zucchini and brussels sprouts are simple but still tasty. At dinner, my husband and I loved the spicy garlic edamame, chicken thigh with yuzu pepper, ribeye skewer, gyoza, and the yaki onigiri (grilled rice ball with a crispy outside). Pro move: dip the onigiri into the leftover spicy edamame sauce. Trust. Ordering is easy with scan-and-pay, the owner is hands-on, and you can feel the care put into every dish. Take it easy with the ordering (they are typically skewer by skewer because you can easily rack up a hefty bill!) If you're looking for an authentic Japanese izakaya experience in Ventura, focused on flavor, not trends, Gotetsu absolutely delivers.

Ambiance- seating inside is generally small tables close together and the dining area is on the smaller side. An open kitchen area is behind the counter, but they also have more kitchen space behind in the back. They layout really reminded me of Tokyo Ramen houses that are designed for solo single eaters (as a lot of Tokyo casual dining is). During my meal, the majority of us at tables were solo eaters, only 1 other table had 2 diners. So I imagine if you're a larger party it, it may be hard to get seating at busier times due to smaller number of tables. Ordered- Tokatsu ShuShu ramen. The noodles were springy and bouncy. The broth is creamy and tasty. I still think I really enjoy Silverlake Ramen's Tonkatsu broth (I don't know what their secret ingredient is that makes it unique) but URamen's is still satisfying. I had 4 pieces of Chashu, 1/2 of a seasoned soft boiled egg. The yolk is seasoned in a very sweet sauce- interesting taste. They add a wonton crisp which is unusual for Ramen bowl! I would've like nori crisp but that's ok. Service- One server was taking care of the lunch crowd. The owners are Thai, and I believe the server is also Thai. She was quite polite. Usually I think most Thai restaurants offer that super kind, and humble service to customers. (I say this as Korean Ame, it's noticeably different than immigrant run Korean or Chinese or Vietnamese restaurants) I do prefer the taste of Silverlake Ramen, BUT they have even more limited seating. The parking and access here is easier and quicker than going to the Collection Annex, so I think this is another solid Ramen place. Note- They are closed on Mondays, and closed between 3-5pm everyday. The first time I came, was during their closed time.
