Second review, years later…read more Restaurant relatively clean overall. Trash cans need a good cleaning, but the tables were clean. Food was typical bakers quality, hot yet salty fries, burritos were both tasty, combo and classic chicken. One of two customer service people (the manager) was very cold, not very customer focused. The dining room was very clean and spacious and bright. It was nice to see that they were in the holiday spirit, as they had Christmas music playing . The cashier was very nice. I guess this establishment does not offer trays because our food came in bags even though we told them we were dining in . The burger was small. And although very well assembled, it was very bland and lacked flavor. The fries were pretty good and salted. Their medium drink was huge. My husband seemed to enjoy his meal. Their "hot sauce" Was nothing more than ketchup mixed with pepper. I would not consider this a hot sauce. Overall, I was very underwhelmed and I regret to say that I will not be visiting this establishment again. Sorry Bakers.

After entering the store, the place seems clean enough. There's a counter for the take out and ordering. The menu is pretty standard fare, including lots of grilled foods, tacos, and burritos. I ended up ordering the burrito bowl and the taco platter. Both dishes are made to order as you can see the chef in the area where you pick up your dishes. The staff is all friendly and willing to help if you need something like an extra plate or some utensils. The food was definitely the highlight. Maybe because it was made to order but you could taste the cheese as it's just about to melt between the layers of rice cooling down and the meat still resting. It was a good balance of the colder items in the bowl with the ones just prepared. The seasoning was just right as well. Nothing was too salty or overpowering to the point that I needed to get lots of refills at the drink fountain. The decor suggests that the food style is Ensenada inspired. In that case, I will have to try the seafood and baja style at some point. I definitely recommend coming here if you get a chance. And coming back multiple times if you have been here before.

Now, they are $4.50 per taco and $3.50 on Wednesdays. The fish tacos were a letdown for the price. The fried fish was centered in the taco and there was a half inch gap in front and back of the taco. They also skimped out on cabbage and tomatoes on each taco. The tortillas were stiff and overcooked. We also ordered 11 tacos and they only gave us 2 grilled chili's. The only good thing is that they brought back the red and green salsa squeeze bottles. We did get a large beans and they had a burnt taste to them. We used to come to La Bufadora because they were a in between a cheap fish taco and higher end like taco Nazo. Now they are charging taco Nazo prices but skimping out on the fish size and toppings. There are better places for the price.

Even though I constantly heard great things about Farmer Boys, I haven't visited a single location…read morein all of my time in the Greater LA Area. That's why when I came across the Ontario outpost of Farmer Boys, I figured I'd stop in and see how their food compared to the more recognizable fast food spots. Coming into the restaurant at 5:30PM on a Sunday, most of the tables were empty. But as peak dinner hours arrived, almost every seat in the restaurant was full. Definitely stop in earlier to grab a seat! Looking at the menu for the first time, I noticed Farmer Boys serves a range of foods. Even though the emphasis was clearly on the burgers, they happen to serve breakfast plates, sandwiches, salads, and more. Many of the items seemed appetizing. But wanting to start with the basics, I decided on a Natural Burger ($8.50), an order of Always Crispy Fries ($3.39), and a Strawberry Shake ($5.79). When ordering at the counter, the cashier asked the typical "for here or to-go" question most of us are familiar with. But what surprised me is that the cashiers served the food right to my table upon completion! Because of this, Farmer Boys came off as more of a fast casual restaurant instead of the typical quick service spot. Looking at the food for the first time, I was initially surprised by the quality of the ingredients. The burger caught my eye first with a smooth bun and stake down the middle. In addition, the fries on the side were golden brown which signified to me that they were made fresh. The size of the burger was quite large and the fries were generous which was appreciated. Even though the burger was priced high at $8.50, the price to portion ratio was good. Looking at the shake next, I was happy to see the generous serving of whipped cream on top. But besides the whipped cream, the shake was a similar size to other shakes at this price point. With that said, the price to portion for the shake in the Ontario area was standard. Farmer Boys does not appear to be much of a place at first glance. But after trying their food, I would definitely return again! Starting with the burger, I found the bun to be somewhat sweet which complemented the sauce and pickles inside. The cheese created a somewhat creamy texture that added some depth to the burger. But out of all the ingredients, the meat was definitely the best part. Because of the volume of ground beef given, the patty was quite juicy! I appreciated that the beef was only lightly seasoned as it emphasized the more intense items. Moving to the fries next, each piece was more soggy than expected. But because they were larger than your typical order of fries, it was easily explainable. Although the potatoes tasted fresh, they were lacking salt. Looking at the strawberry shake last, I felt that I should have started with it first. The whipped cream tasted rich, almost as if it was made in-house. Compared to other shakes, the whipped cream had volume to it and added a more "milky" taste. As for the shake itself, it definitely tasted like it was made from real fruits and ice cream. In fact, the shake had small bits of strawberry inside which helped give hints of texture to the thick drink. I would definitely enjoy a meal at Farmer Boys again. Although there were some small things that could be improved here and there, the food was pretty solid overall. The prices are somewhat high if on the more frugal side. But for those willing to spend extra for added quality Farmer Boys is a good option. For those unfamiliar with Farmer Boys, definitely don't overlook this fast food spot. The quality of the ingredients is just as good (if not better) than many of your common fast food favorites.
