Updating this review based on not just the food, also based on witnessing some bad customer service from this lady Sule. I've watched her the whole time I was eating my lunch not showing any care whatsoever. If she doesn't care about the customers or even her job, then why is she working here? Definitely not WaBa Grill material. The food here is still good, but it's not the same without Lauren (who used to work here) as she was the best employee at this particular location. However, the other employee I forgot her name who took the order from me was nice and know what customer service is about. Waba Grill is located close to Bank Of America and Walmart. It was my first time here and I was getting something for me and my parents. I was looking at the menu and deciding to get a Half and half bowl with brown rice and had asked what a half and half is. So a half and half is half chicken and half beef. I decided to get that for me and my mom to share and my dad would get a steak bowl. I thought the rice was pretty good but the steak and and chicken wasn't really my liking per say. I think it is alright for something quick to eat but to me the flavor wasn't there. I liked the chili sauce though but not so much the teriyaki sauce that they put on it standard. So I think if I did end up eating here I would just tell them not to put any sauce in the bowl. read more

So we come in to WaBa to order haven't been here in a while asked a couple questions about the bowls ordered a Waba bowl and a mini chicken bowl tried to order drinks but the soda fountain was not working only ice and water which that was fine except they can only give us a tiny dinky plastic cup or they would have to charge us for it problem with that is is if your soda machines not working are you gonna charge us for the cup they said they only have the drinks in the refrigerator picked one out of there wasn't very cold the employee stated that she had just put them in there so we asked if we could have a bigger cup for ice to add to drink to to cool it off and she told us she would have to charge us for a regular drink are you going to charge us for a regular drink for your malfunctioning fountain machine we're just trying to get cold drinks which you have none of we're happy to buy one but not two and only get one or buy one that's warm of course they said they were just following procedure but sounds to me like there's no real procedure guidelines set in place for this particular scenario and I think a little common sense and standard courtesy would be in the best interest of the restaurant when their equipment is not working properly other than that the food was pretty good I did ask for light rice and heavy veggies got charged an extra $.35 for that and still wind up with what appears to be what they standardly do on the rice and the veggies lots of rice not much veggies I mean after I a lot of the rice I still wound up with more than a half a bowl full of rice $.35 would be a great deal if I actually got what I paid for. read more

I used to really enjoy the food from here but the last two times I've gone have sucked, today I decided to give them a second chance and I won't be going here again. But I'm also spending money here and there isn't much customer service to work with... Two months ago, I went to pick up my order which was a chicken/steak plate with 3 dumplings substituted in. I told them my name and the girl couldn't find it by name so I told her what I'd ordered. She gave me a chicken steak plate that was packaged up in the to go section and I went home. My mistake for not checking it inside because then I realized that it wasn't my order because it didn't have the correct rice, dumplings, and side of avocado I'd ordered. Secondly because the receipt that was on the plate had a timestamp almost TWO HOURS before I'd placed my order. So they gave me a plate that'd been just sitting there. I went back to return it but they didn't give me a new plate. They just added in the correct rice, only two dumplings, and a brown piece of avocado on the side that I had to remind them again to give me. Today, I went again hoping last time was just a bad day. I also made my order through the app and when I got there they hadn't made it, and didn't know about it. I told the guy my name and what I ordered. He searched for it on the monitor and said he got it, spoiler: he did not. He served and gave me the plate I ordered, and as he was packaging it up I asked him if the dumplings were in there (I'd ordered 5 pieces). He said "no, those are separate." Okay. He proceeds to give me the bag with the plate and no dumplings and tries to send me on my way. "I also ordered dumplings," I told him. Didn't he check the order on the screen, as well as me just asking about them?? "How many" he says. I tell him the amount and he packages them like I'm inconveniencing him. I get home, and I open up the chicken/steak plate. The rice is mushy and wet, the steak is dry, and the salad has no dressing. And that is the last time I give this place my money. If they'd gotten my order wrong but apologized and the food was good then all would be forgotten. But they mess up your order, have no customer service, and the food isn't good? read more

This has to be the worst run business I've ever experienced. I'm incredibly patient and understanding, especially considering I worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years. But the employees here seem like they just don't want the business nor care about the customers. I had an online order back in June. I got the the store and was told they were out of everything and that I needed to talk to the manager to get a $36 refund. I contacted the manager the following day and she said they have to make a request to corporate to refund my money. Never heard back. I reached out to corporate and didn't hear back for over a month. When I finally heard back, I was told they can't refund me because it's been over 30 days (not my fault), but they can offer me 4 meal vouchers, I would just need to the let the manager know and show them the email. I had never tried WabaGrill until this location opened up near my house. It worked out perfectly as our kitchen was being remodeled, my family and I were forced to eat out. Being very health conscious we mainly ate at El Pollo Loco and decided to give this place a try. Let's just say that I'm a regular now coming at least 5x a week. I've tried everything on the menu and it is all D-licious and HEALTHY! You can't go wrong My favorite is the chicken veggie bowl with brown rice, green onions and avocado on top ($8.24). This will fill you up and is well priced. The staff here is amazing and everyone is really well mannered and friendly, always seeming to have a genuine smile. One employee who always seems to stand out is Kevin. This guy will give you the best radical customer experience you have ever had at a food joint. Went here a few nights ago for the first time after searching "healthy" food in my area. It was toward closing time, so the staff was getting ready to close up shop, but still happy to serve me and my friend. Delicious. Hands down. I had the Half-Half Veggie Bowl. NOM NOM NOM. Overall it has the same concept as Flame Broiler [which I also like (but now having tried Waba Grill, I'd opt for Waba)], but has bigger portions and more menu options: salmon and shrimp. The beef is also more flavorful than Flame Broiler's. Prices are a bit more than FB's, but that's to be expected with their offerings. Will definitely come back. read more

I ordered a salmon salad and was expecting to get a normal size portion unfortunately i was very disappointed when I got home when i payed $8 for a salad with a bite of salmon! That is just ridiculous to me if I'm gonna pay $8 for a salad I expect to get a decent amount of salmon I wouldn't pay more than $6 for this. I felt she didn't want to help me and was bothered she had customers. The food has also been a bit of a hit and miss for me too. Went to this Waba Grill today for lunch. Ordered a chicken/steak combo bowl, white rice with no vegetables. See the attached picture. The serving was sparse to say the best. Barely any rice and even less chicken. My friend ordered the exact item, his serving was much more plentiful. I discussed this with cashier who told me there was nothing he could do. He claimed the order was prepared correctly. When I told him my friends bowl was much more plentiful he said he guessed he was lucky. Check your order before leaving! Third time they forgot to add avocado with my order. When I call to complain, they usually tell me to either drive back to the place (its ten miles away from me) to get my avocado, because there is no manager on the premises to refund my card on the phone. They will tell you to call back when the manager Renee is there to refund the amount on my card, but every time I called, during the manger's supposed working hours, they are never there! We've eaten there twice in 3 days. The first time I had a chicken green salad and it was delicious. The wife had the chicken plate with brown rice and she loved it. The chicken was delicious with no gristle or bad pieces in the lot. Tonight we ordered take-out. I ordered the rib plate with brown rice. Not great.... not even good. The rib meat was scarce and once you find it, while flavorful, it was spongy, stringy gristle and thin. Wife ordered the chicken bowl with brown rice and again, the chicken was delicious, but both orders came with white rice and we don't like white rice. My take so far is the food is flavorful and while the chicken is excellent, the ribs are definitely not to my liking.
