    Ox tail dinner $$$$
    Terri S.

Presentation is amazing. The way they plate the food is spot on. Taste eh not so much. Size of serving does not match price nor quality. Too much for so little.

Fried Chicken Combo with rice & beans and cabbage. Yuck!!
    Mallory Q.

Food is a disgrace and the environment is unsanitary! Ambiance/Environment: Upon walking in, I was greeted by a nice young man at the counter, sitting on his cellphone. My family & I glanced over the menu but was distracted by what was visible in the public's eyesight. The cooking area was extremely nasty. The cook was not using any gloves, apron as he handled raw food, there was a dirty mop and bucket near the fryer & food particles were on the floor. I saw the cashier handle money & ring up customers at the register and fix to go orders without washing his hands. The rice he was packing, is sitting at a small buffet station at the counter where the customers are. I was with a senior citizen who had to stand because the lobby area did not have any chairs to accommodate those who were waiting or individuals who require ADA. The Food: They do not serve authentic Jerk chicken!! They only served Fried wings. We inquired about white and dark meat and that was not an option;only party wings. I ordered a 6pc dinner that came with 6 party wing dings (not whole wings) rice & cabbage and plantains and it was $24. My chicken was fried in dirty grease and had a burnt, greasy taste behind it. dinner. dinner. A member in my party ordered the jerk chicken dinner. Her order contained the same 6 burnt party wings, with a thick bbq sauce poured over the top. They DO NOT use an authentic jerk seasoning or marinade on their food! The rice & beans were overcooked, dry, hard, lacked flavor and was overall disgusting unsatisfying. The plantains are served chunked. They were dry and bland. The cabbage was not even memorable. It was all terrible for $45! I do not recommend. I'll never return and I hate I wasted my money on something that was not worth .40 cent. They serve a drink called "Spalla." It's served in a clear plastic jar with no label. The secret drink has no ingredients listed. This is dangerous because people may have allergies & should know what they are ingesting. Don't walk in this place thinking you're receiving authentic Jerk food. It's not even close. They also need to clean the cooking area since it is exposed to the public eye from the front entrance/lobby. The front cashier was pleasant & told me to tag the restaurant after I eat. Nah, I'm going to tag this review instead buddy. You all need some serious inprovements.

Oxtail combo. Rice and peas. Cabbage. Plantain.

It's the splaaa for me! Enjoyable mix of koolaid and tea? Creative and delicious. I ordered the oxtail combo with rice and peas and cabbage. The oxtail serving was plentiful. The rice could have cooked a few minutes longer but when the wonderfully spicy seasoned cabbage was mixed with the rice...*chefs kiss* i'm glad to see this business move into their own location and i look forward to trying again--once they are all settled in and thriving.

One of the worst places. The oxtails was burnt and the rice and peas over seasoned. It wasn't worth $19

Great food, friendly staff, the design inside is nice. Their new spot is a big difference from their old one. It was an upgrade.

I've been to many places over the past 2 months and some I'll definitely have to come back to provide more photos. This is one of those places. Crav'n Caribbean is located inside the City Kitch on Milner Drive. I've been here a few times and each time has been great. Personally, I think they provide adequate portions and who doesn't love a heavy plate. I have tried the oxtails, rice and peas, jerk short ribs, collards, cabbage, and Mac and Cheese. Everything was very flavorful and the jerk sauce and seasoning is great. It's a sweet heat but not too much that you can't enjoy it. I find they were very easy to order through. Just check out their Instagram page which houses a link to order from. I love that the wait time is as outlined and each time, my food was ready and hot. It's very hard to find good Caribbean food and this one is worth trying. Price wise, they are fair so don't get alarmed. They are very big portions. They do have an oxtail steak and cheese that's priced at $30. I may give it a try next time. I'll keep you all posted if I do lol.

My initial introduction was when they were located in Stock and Grain Food Hall. I had wanted to try them for a while and luckily I was invited to a Yelp Event where I was able to sample some items. In all fairness, I absolutely loved the service but maybe it was an off night but at the time I wasn't a fan. But as some months passed, they are no longer in Stock and Grain but in a food truck in High Point. I highly suggest following their Facebook page for dates and times where you can catch them. The service was still wonderful and the food was really good. The sweet potato cornbread is one of my favs and the chicken wings and catfish bites were fried to perfection. I love collard greens but do understand, everyone makes them differently. My family is from eastern NC so we make ours savory, theirs have a little sweetness to it. I don't mind it but this time around was so much better, it was very well balanced. The mac and cheese was delicious as well. Although not pictured, do check out their Russian tea drink. I felt very nostalgic and I have no other words but it was great. I try to savor it when I get some. I wish he sold them in half gallon jugs because I would buy it. That's how good it is. They have other items like Rasta pasta, oxtails, pork chops, and turkey wings. I can't wait to come back and try more food. Give them a follow and check them out. You won't be disappointed.

The reason for the review is that the Food was covered/soaked in oil. I was going to say something but I declined to say anything to the staff. The reason I declined was when I first entered, a customer was relating a bad previous experience he had, but he asked very nicely to the cashier who he was speaking to, who do business owners get offended when a customer complains. This guy was American. I'm a West Indian and I knew exactly what he was talking about. So instead of risking the attitude of the staff and god forbid getting "extra sauce" in my food, I cut my losses. What was good. I downloaded their app it's was well put together. They took my number and texted me when the food was finished. As there is really no place in the place to wait. They sent me a survey to my phone number to ask about my experience. I gave them the above review excluding the part about the other customer feeling like he offended the staff. The restaurant had a nice professional ambiance and was clean. The above things were good, and it seems the owners want to provide a pleasant experience for their customers. But none of that matters if I don't enjoy the food. Hopefully this review will assist them in improving.
