First and foremost, the view is amazing. The layout is also very nice. However, the service is very poor. Waitresses were taking shots behind the bar and having a very good time of their own but were not particularly concerned about doing a lot of waiting. There was also live music. But for the time of day (7-8p) the amp was far too loud and he continued playing for an hour and a half after he was supposed to stop. The food was quite simply terrible. The good people that work here deserve better than the clown that manages this place. Vue has a weird (rooftop of Homewood Suites) location, but a great view of Lake Dillon. I'll tell you that the menu looked good, but I have no idea how it tastes. On our first visit, we dropped in a little before 5p to have a couple of drinks and an appetizer before meeting up for dinner at another place. The issue? the kitchen staff or cook didn't show up to work and they had no food available. No problem ... it's Labor Day Weekend, places are short staffed ... it happens. We enjoyed our drinks and the view and made a reservation for two days later to have dinner. Our waitress did a fine job. Wasn't her fault. Here's the rub. We made a reservation for two days later. Via Open Table ... we received a few reminders about our reservation. We rushed away from a fun round of golf with a couple that we met so that we would make the reservation in time. But, when we showed up ... it was apparent that something was amiss from the get go. After getting off the elevator and walking around to the entrance, we were met by a sign that informed us that the area was closed for a private event. A couple in front of us was being turned away. When we tried to check in for our reservation, we were told that the space had been 'contracted out for a private party' and that our reservation was not valid. So - here's my issue. Things happen. Cooks don't show up. Private parties get booked. But, how do you send multiple reminders about my reservation ... yet don't have the decency to call my cell and tell me that my reservation has been canceled before we go through the trouble of rushing to make it. The 'gentleman' at the entrance blamed someone else ... but it felt like he was probably the manager in charge of the place. I'm guessing that he was the one that booked the private party and didn't bother to call those who had reservations. He offered us a $300 credit for the trouble. (He gave the couple in front of us a bottle of wine.) We didn't take the credit. Have no interest in eating at a place managed so poorly. On the way out of the hotel, we ran into the couple in front of us. They had accepted the bottle of wine, but said that they had heard several bad reviews of the place ... and that this has happened more than once according to them. I've never left a bad review in my life. hate to do it now because the people that work there deserve to make a living. But, whoever manages this place is a joke. it would have taken minimal time to call those with reservations and explain the situation. Clearly they had our phone numbers. Chose not to do so. And it sounds like this isn't a rare occurrence. When employees don't respect who they work for ... they simply don't show up. When management doesn't respect their customers ... they don't bother to take the time for basic decency. Sorry ... I'd avoid this place. Too many solid and well run restaurants in the area to waste your time here until something changes. You can get great views of Lake Dillon without this hassle. read more

No doubt the view is amazing and the deck and restaurant are beautiful. You'll want to get there during the daylight to see it. But everything else is mediocre. The food, service, even the drinks were sub par. They just opened so I'm hoping they will work out the kinks but I wouldn't go back unless something changed. read more

Let's just say you can't trust photos you see on the internet. I ordered the salmon with a house salad, which tasted fine but looked like I pulled it out of my freezer. The staff was trying their best but even with an empty dining room they were overwhelmed and slow. I had high hopes but will not be returning as it is not worth my money. read more

The staff and service here is amazing, especially the bartender Ashley. They accompanied a group of 20+ with no problem, and continued to be friendly and patient. The chefs and staff are also excellent. The food is amazing, and the views are amazing (hence the name VUE). I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. read more

I went to VUE tonight and boy was I disappointed. Not only was the service slow the food was awful. For reference I got the pasta with butter, salmon, and a side salad. The pasta had no taste to it the salmon has no seasoning and the salad looked and tasted like it had just come from a grocery store. It was a true disappointment and I would not recommend eating here. read more

We stopped in for an overnight stay after the road conditions were questionable on our way back to Denver. Ashley--the new bartender-- as well as the new executive chef we're both top notch and impressed a couple of former bartenders with the level of service they provided. We ordered multiple of their small plates which did not disappoint. The Lamb Riblets were delicious. Our drinks were extremely tasty and made with fresh ingredients. I recommend the smoked old fashioned and the Moscow mule. We will definitely be back when we are back in Colorado. read more

What a great view! So sad the food was awful. We had three different salads with either salmon or steak on top and also the chicken dinner. All were sooooooo disappointing. This place ought to stick to burgers & nachos..... something that is hard to mess up. I hope they can fix this food problem because the location & view are phenomenal!!! read more

We visited the Vue on a Thursday evening. We did not have a reservation for our party of 3 and were briskly told it would be over an hour wait. No offer to sit at the bar or the shared high top table that we later were told about by a friendly staff member. The high top was less than half-full and easily accommodated us. The view was astounding, and our waiter was wonderful. The food took a full hour to come out and was decent, but not worth the lengthy wait. During the 1.75 hrs we were there, 4 tables remained empty (after the hosts turned us and many other parties away). I will give them another chance to hopefully work out the kinks with their host and kitchen staff. read more

Very nice view and seating area outside, had the huckleberry cocktail, very good! On the other hand, I was disappointed when the bartender handled the garnishes for our cocktails with her hands and not with utensils. It's just not hygienic. read more

Where to begin? First off the happy hour menu has 5 mediocre choices with the best being a charcuterie board. We order that and are told they are "out". Mind you this is 4 pm. Not exactly mid evening. Then I order my drink from the cocktail menu and I'm told they are "out" of the ingredients for it. So we order two beers. 20 minutes later I send my husband up to the bar to see where are drinks are because we are literally the only customers in the place. The bartender claimed "the computer didn't have the order". Even though our waitress said she would "check on the drinks", ten minutes before, she obviously didn't. Finally some food and drinks arrive and it is all truly inedible. I am so hungry by the end of our time there that I order the s'mores pie hoping it will at least taste decent. Guess what?? They were "out"! So ends the worst restaurant experience of our lives. Never again! read more

As a local, I was excited for the opening of this rooftop bar in our neighborhood. Unfortunately, the view was the only thing worth while about this bar/restaurant and even that didn't make our experience any better. To begin, we had a reservation and when we arrived there was no host. We walked in to find someone and stood there waiting for anyone to acknowledge us. It took about 10 minutes. When we finally sat down and ordered drinks, everything we asked for that was on the menu was not available. We literally went through 5 beers listed on the menu and 2 wines and the waitress said they did not have them. After that it took about 15 minutes to get our drinks (which is pretty normal for Mts service) but then she didn't come back for a food order. By the time she came back to the table, we had finished our drinks and asked for another round. We put in our app order and asked for 4 more drinks. We got the food fairly quickly but of the 4 drinks (2 beers and 2 glasses of wine) we only got the wine. We then asked twice for the beers but never got them. We ended up closing the tab and going somewhere else to eat. I want to say that it was 4:45 and the place was maybe full so they were not slammed. We will never go back and I definitely won't take guests there when they come to visit. Go to Bistro North instead. read more

Hey Locals. . .Went the 2nd day it was open and brought with me about 10 other locals.. We were told we couldn't just drink at the tables, though the place was empty, and that all tables were all reserved. We sat at the bar and waited for our friends to show up and saw their flyer showing live music a couple days the following week and asked the bartender who was playing. She said she didn't know and didn't bother to find out for us. There wasn't enough seating at the bar for our group, so when they came, we asked if we could sit outside, that was set up with tables, chairs, and couches. Some folks were dining outside. It was a lovely day, warm and sunny and the view was awesome. We were told they couldn't offer service outside, but we could order inside and bring our drinks outside. Meanwhile about 4 of the wait staff was just standing around chatting with the manager. They really could have served us. Not a good way to start off with the locals. read more
