I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Sadly although the produce is good and well priced the customer service is despicable. Do NOT go here. I shopped here this past weekend and forgot an item on my way out. I was told to come in with my receipt and speak to "Scott"who would check the camera for me. I go in this afternoon and am told he has "just stepped out" and to return in 20 min.I return and once again, he is conveniently not there. The staff was unhelpful. Produce/Grocery stores like this are always blessing to the community in my humble opinion. Not only do they provide fresh nutritious veggies, fruits and other essential needs to the community but it also provide the convenience for those who can't travel far. With that said, I love Vucciria. They have been a staple in this community for years and it seems like everyone in this neighborhood shop here when they needs sometime quick. I usually stop by when I'm in this neighborhood, just to see what specials they have. Never a disappointment adventure as I always find something to my liking. They are also very well stocked and everything is set up nicely and easy to find and their prices are listed everywhere so there are no surprises when you're at the register. Overall I like this place and find that they offer everything I need except for fresh meat, which is fine. Also another thing to anticipate is that this place can get quite crowded during the weekend when everyone is out and about with their shopping business. read more

I can only comment on the two things that lured me into Vucciria: the cheap price of produce and reasonably-priced prepared foods selection. This large supermarket offers truly fantastic deals on fruit and vegetables: I bought two pineapples for $2 and white peaches for $.49/lb, which were both a steal. They were very ripe and sweet. Had my arms not been full from carrying other purchases, I would have taken advantage of more of Vucciria's deals. The prepared food bar had a large variety of foods from different traditions, from American to Eastern European/Russian. There were crab cakes, numerous salads, marinated artichokes, grilled fish, and roasted vegetables, and other fried meats. I was stunned to find the most amazing eggplant wrapped vegetables I first tried in the main market of Bukhara, Uzbekistan, as well as what looked like toyuq levengi (stuffed chicken), which I encountered in Baku, Azerbaijan. Generally the vegetarian dishes are $5.99/lb, while the meat-based dishes are $7.99/lb, though there are exceptions. I absolutely plan on returning! read more

Vucciria sells great produce at extremely affordable prices. Where else can you get ripe Del Monte pineapples at two for $3 or ears of corn at 4 for $1? The selection switches on a weekly basis but there are always numerous bargains on their fruits and vegetables. Vucciria also has a bakery section, a deli/cheese section, as well as a prepared foods section, all of which I can't comment on because my shopping basket is usually too full of produce to fit in anything else. This place used to be much better a few years ago. It always did questionable things though like putting stacks of eggs outside or putting it front of the fridges instead of inside the fridges. It still continues this practice. But now their fridges aren't even cold. I'll come in for some items and go pick up an item. It's barely over room temperature. I put it down then go over to the meats section. Same thing. The cheeses are room temperature and soft. The yogurt section is the same thing. So I've stopped shopping here for any refrigerated items. It's not worth it when every other market within a 3 block radius all have functioning fridges and take food safety more seriously. This used to be my go-to place for cheeses. read more

This place is a godsend when you have late night munchies and all the restaurants are closed and you don't want to go to 7/11. Fruits and produce are a good deal but always check the fruits for quality. There's an isle where they have boxed sweets. I'd check the expiration dates because once I spotted a box of baklava but was maybe 4 months expired. Also the boxes looked kinda dirty like roaches might have been crawling on it. Also don't bother with the rotisserie chicken since it's very bland and don't the beef stew in buffet section, last time I bought it, it was ridiculously salty, no matter how much I tried to water it down, it was practically salt water. read more

There's an older, very tall man who works in the cold cuts department that not only is extremely rude but even worse he feels he doesn't need to wear a mask. While all the other workers are wearing their masks following health protocol. I guess he gets special treatment of some sort? When I asked him," why aren't you wearing a mask?" He replied with a poor excuse, which during these uncertain times, there is no excuse to not be wearing a mask, especially indoors while you are working. This is a health hazard, I wonder if the owner of this establishment is aware that one of his employees are not only rude, but isn't following CDC guidelines to protect his staff and their customers. The reason why I give this place two stars and not one is because it is opened 24/7. Everything is cheap here but make sure if you buy fruits eat it the very same day because it is gonna bad the next day. They sell a lot of expired products and tend to keep trash right next to the milk section and they also drag trash through the store and throw it outside where they keep all the fruits and veggies. Not a very hygenic place. But if you're looking for quick grocery shopping, you should stop by here. They used to sell gelato here that I loved but they stopped it. read more

Large super market in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn has a large variety of fresh produce. Inside you'll find a nice sized deli department, meats, breads and prepared foods. It's mostly Eastern European with some Italian groceries but you'll certainly find what you're looking for. Prices especially for produce are pretty cheap so it's a good place to stock up. This place is such a filthy market place and since my move to the neighbourhood, I have been shopping here but too many bad experiences and too many rotten eggs, milk, yogurt and today it was a $2 sour cream. Never complained before but as a matter of principal, decided to take it back to the store and was given such a hard time by the nasty cashiers, then the lady manager couldnt get the hang of it and kept insisting that it smells cause its sour cream as though U had no clue what sour cream tastes like. Then she tried to put the blame on me that maybe I left it outside the fridge too long, upon which I showed her the receipt proving that I bought it 30 minutes ago. But to avail and finally couldnt handle their stupidity and ignorance, let alone all the cashiers condescending remarks and looks they give every customer, like they are doing a favor to the community by working there. No need to shop at a dirty market with senseless people who feel you trying to rob them of $2 who in fact sell you out dated goods or goods spoiled cause left in the sun too long. Produce here are a hit and miss. Sometimes you can find great deal for certain veggies and fruits but you have to make sure it is still in good condition. They have a good section for cheese and cold cuts and some handful Russian yogurts and milks. I particularly come here for the pishniki lol it is super moist and delicious. And the pay per lbs salad and hot food bar is a lifesaver when you are hungry in the middle of the night. Kudos for being 24/7. Some products tend to be more expensive than other chain supermarkets so shop wisely. read more

The store manager (the lady) and one other cashier; they are really disrespectful. I lived in this area like 6 months. Starting from my first day of visit , I was disrespected by this lady(store manager) and another lady(cashier). Most of other staffs are professional. I will not buy disrespect any more in my money. This store was my favourite store to buy breads and vegetable but the last time I shopped cashier forgot to put my bread in the bag... I noticed it when I got home and then the next day I went there back with my receipt and they didn't believe me. I used to do my weekly shopping for my family at this supermarket being attracted by cheaper prices spending around $200 each time. I also used to stop few times a week when i would run out of something and if the amount is less than $10 they refused to take Visa credit card saying the have credit card charge minimum. One time it was a bottle of water they refused to charge on my Visa CD and didn't carry any cash. Yesterday, on my way home my child asked for dry pineapples that were $4 and they refused to take my Visa Credit card. P.S. Don't be fooled by cheaper prices. What you pay is what you get. I've been coming here often since I moved into the area. The prices are okay compared to across the street which is slightly higher but for what you pay, that's the quality you get. Employees outside are horrible. I asked them if the sign on the produce was a 1 or a 4 since they look the same. He told me in Chinese it was a 1. Did I ask you in Chinese? No. I asked in English and you could have responded in English. Just cause I'm Chinese doesn't mean I don't understand English cause I sure as hell speak it. This place is super hit or miss. It's either amazing with fresh produce, or everything is starting to rot and has fruit flies swarming around. They keep a lot of their stuff outside, so keep that as a factor for summer months because the hot weather obviously causes the flies & such to worsen. I've been coming to Vucciria recently to pick up fruits and vegetables to make lunch, salad, or whatever else at home and I've noticed recently the prices have gone up at this place. Suddenly I've found Cherry Hill (across the street) to be a lot cheaper than Vucciria. I've also noticed the quality of their produce aren't as good anymore. During a recent visit here, I noticed some of the staff here are quite unprofessional and stare at female customers in appropriate ways. This grocery is close to our home, and we often visit it. The prices are good here on weekends but still, not the best if to compare with stores around. You should keep your eyes on the cashiers, because all the time they make a mush with the products you buy. Today, July 25th, 2021 at 6 pm I bought some food and came to a cashier who refused to introduce herself. She worked at the third row of cash machines from the exit door and stood closer to the wall where exit is. She put raw ground meat and a piece of sausage into the same plastic bag. I told her that raw and ready to eat food don't match together and asked her to pack separately. She didn't pack for a while then she threw the plastic bag, I asked her to pack the ground meat. She packed it and threw the meat with the anger on the counter. I asked for the supervisor bot nobody came out. I asked for her name, but, again, there was no answer. Very offensive. The cashiers and sale representatives don't wear badges. Why? To hide from the customers their unprofessional behavior? I lived in Brooklyn and used Vucciria as my favorite store since it was opened. Today was my last visit, as I am not going to stand rude behavior of rude people. There are more good stores in Brooklyn. read more

I've only been coming here since Meat Supreme up the block went downhill and then out of business. Only buy from the deli dept when the female or younger male employee is working. Don't buy anything when the older white male or Hispanic male is working the deli dept cause you'll get racist attitude, humiliation and crap. If your not the same race as them they'll give you all cold cut ends. I was furious seeing that my complete order of 1lb of cold cuts were all bit ends. This place is so smelly outside because they put the garbage right next to the fruits. They even put garbage where people park the cars so no matter which direction u go from this market, all you smell is garbage from their fruits or whatever it is that is inside those bags. The workers that handle the garbage or fruits are very unprofessional and very rude. They don't speak English and they are not helpful. I love this place for so many different reasons. The quantity, variety and general freshness of the produce is pretty much unmatched by other nearby venues -- particularly at their price point. Sure, you can probably save a buck or two by really keeping an eye out along the avenue, but for me it's simply not worth the time and legwork when Vucciria pretty much has it all in one well-maintained establishment. I adore their fresh breads, baked on the premises. They have a sizable variety of cheeses and cold cuts spanning Europe from east to west. I love being able to buy hard-to-find items like speck and Hunter bacon and French or Greek or Bulgarian feta at an exponentially lower price than venues like Fairway or D'Agostinos in Manhattan. The hot food items are also quite nice (I'm a big fan of the catfish and the chicken kebab). They also tend to hire very pleasant and professional staff. The lines move fairly quickly, even though it seems like everyone and their mother is paying with a benefits card. Clearly Yelp isn't the proper venue for railing against the bloated welfare state, but seriously, the next time you're on line at Vucciria, look around and tell me there aren't far too many able-bodied young men yanking that EBT card out from between a wad of twenties or women producing it from the recesses of a designer handbag. It seems the status quo in Bensonhurst now is for all the immigrant associations to get newcomers set up on the dole whether they need it or not. Not a modicum of shame is involved. For them, it's just free money and you'd be a sucker if you *didn't* take it. Remember when welfare was considered taboo and only permissible if dictated by dire circumstances? Well neither does the clientele at Vucciria. But that's just the clientele, and other than making me want to force them to thank me for paying for their groceries with my tax dollars, they aren't much of an impediment. I believe the co-owners of Vucciria are Sicilians and Russians and together they make for one well-run business that definitely earns all five stars. read more

On Saturday, 4/21/18 around 7:00PM-7: 15 PM I was shocked how the cashier name Melissa behave with me, it is inappropriate and unacceptable how the employee reply to the customer in such way like she serve me "free". It seems like they might get a shipment a couple of times a week. it seems like every few days the inventory has changed.
