This is the busiest Trader Joe's I've ever been to. Figures that it would be on the East Coast. Selection was pretty substantial. Service fast. It was a bit overwhelming to see the lines being hella long, but they do move fast.

Let me start by saying the staff is wonderful and I agree that they stock up relatively well. My issue with this location is the operation of the store. Every time I seem to go it is so crowded that you have to wait in line just to walk down any aisle and your cart clips every other cart you walk by. Sometimes I have to leave my cart in a corner somewhere and go on without it because then at least I can squeeze through carts faster. They have two lines that wrap around the store (I was just there at 1pm today on a Friday and the lines were winding around the store) .. and the people on the lines cover the entire frozen section so you can't even see what's in the refrigerators and when you need to reach in to grab something, you always have to ask someone who's on line to move. It's so unacceptable and if there were a comparable option in the area, I'd absolutely go there. There needs to be a limit enforced as to how many people can shop at a time, not only for comfort, but also for safety. I know I've seen this enforced at other TJs, and this location really needs to follow suit. If the current allowance doesn't exceed the limit, then they need to lower the limit and not be so greedy trying to shove in as many shoppers as possible. So fed up with the greed.

11/08/23: Decided to check them out to pick up some prepared shrimp for lunch. However, didn't find as it was the wrong place. It was Wegmans my friend bought the shrimp. Nevertheless looked around didn't purchase anything but the neatly stocked shelves and bright ambience made it very difficult not to purchase anything. But when I need to probably will return.

    Great prices!

Most affordable groceries in NYC. Love that there are so many vegan labeled items and not just tofu - lots of healthy and indulgent options! The vegan ravioli, organic broccoli slaw, organic tofu, organic spices, hummus, and organic kale are a few staples I keep in the house. If you haven't tried the Impossible nuggets you must try them!

These crackers are super addicting! Goes great with hummus.

This Trader Joe's is very different from other locations in that it is located in the basement of an apartment building called the Future. My cousin's mother-in-law owns a condo upstairs and it's a really upscale building. These days you might encounter a line to get in that wraps around the corner. You might get lucky and just cruise in the entrance and take the escalator downstairs. Because space is limited down here, the aisles are narrower than what you might see at other TJ's, so they use the shortened double-tiered basket shopping carts here with the tight turn radius. One thing that irks me is when people leave their shopping carts in the middle of the aisle blocking traffic. Just park it to the side willya?! You can pick up your fresh veggies and fruits as you enter the first aisle, but be on the lookout for how long the check-out line gets. It will snake through the store before you know it and the tail end is found by the associate holding the arrow down sign saying "This is the end of the line". If you're familiar with the layout of the store, you can get on line right away and just cruise through certain aisles to pick up stuff as you are waiting, like the chips, snacks and bread. It usually doesn't go by the meat, dairy or frozen cases, so hit those before getting on line. I like the spatchcocked chicken if you can find it. Once you get to the checkouts, an associate at the head keeps everything flowing and will direct you to a register. There's really not a lot of room down here for regular supermarket type checkouts, so they use little island kiosks and every one of them is manned (womanned?) and ready. Don't forget to bring your reusable shopping bags or they will charge you for paper shopping bags. Once you're through checkout, hop on the up escalator and you're out of there!

Trader Joe's is food heaven!! Omg I love everything here! From their frozen goods, ready to cook dinners, cakes, ice cream and more! Location: It is located in Midtown, NY. The store is huge, very organize! Usually a long line but they are very organize so its a quick wait. The shelves are clean and easy to locate what you need. Service: they are super nice and kind. From person outside to the cashier they are very nice and helpful. Food: OMG i love everything here to be honest! Everytime I am here I wanna buy everything! My favorites are WHITE CHEDDAR POPCORN, BATTERED FISH NUGGETS, GREEN TEA, UBE MOCHI PANCAKE and UBE ICE CREAM (seasonal usually in Spring), PORTUGUESE CUSTARD CAKE, MINI HOLD THE CONE ICE CREAM, CAULIFLOWER RICE, MANDARIN ORANGE CHICKEN! Price rating: 5/10, definitely cheap for all the goodness you get in here! I always go here cause everything is worth buying! Buy UBE mochi pancake and UBE ice cream if you see them because they are seasonal!

These USED to be my favorite nuts. Posted with review 06/24/22

Clearly prices are jumping as well as decreasing the amount of product in a package. Hope everyone is aware of this! First hand knowledge!

There are more cashiers than I've seen in any other Trader Joe's. Accounting for what they knew would be a high-trafficked store, the aisles are wide. Plenty of merchandise. Clean, well-stocked. Same prices I paid when I shopped at Trader Joe's in Roswell GA though -- and it may be my imagination -- the bag of frozen Gyoza Potstickers (something I always buy) seems to have shrunk. The First Avenue bus is right outside. Convenient! I would avoid rush hour and weekends when the store could get super busy. I don't want to struggle with purchases on a crowded bus. But I'll surely be back, mid-week, mid-day.

Unfortunately, the experience was heavily overshadowed by an uncomfortable situation with a security guard who followed us around the store. It was very off-putting and honestly diminished the entire visit. If I hadn't been in a rush, I would have left my items right where I stood and walked out. Security should be focused on individuals who are actually stealing, not hovering over someone carrying a tiny bag where nothing could even be hidden. Because of that experience, it's unlikely I'll return to this location. I may consider trying a different Trader Joe's someday, but this visit left a very sour impression.

We have developed a congenial friendship which was founded on La Fermière yogurts. Emre knows that I price shop so invariably I know when the time is right to buy these delicious yogurts at Eden. A few speak French which I practice with them. Being originally Greek, the Dolmas in the prepared food section, are plump and particularly tasty. It's worth buying a few to take home. Adam looks taciturn but always is kind to me. He is behind the deli counter preparing sandwiches and always gives me a quarter pound of the Jambon de Paris. Miguel and Medina are also here. A loyalty card is worth having and once having accumulated many points I paid the princely sum of $1.61 for a pretty bouquet of roses in assorted colors that cost $11.99. Now that's a steal! Eden Gourmet is the sister supermarket to my beloved sadly closed Eden Gourmet of 14th street. This too is packed to the brim with fresh vegetables, fruits, cheeses, dairy, chicken and meats. A large variety of sparkling waters, frozen entrees, ice creams and assorted temptations are here too. A small bakery has cakes and pastries available.
