This supermarket gets a bad review but I didn't feel the same. Store friendly non judgmental. I wish more mushrooms and sushi sections. No self pay everyone has to be on lines. You can be a member and get a point. 500 points, $5 discount.

Sadly while I've had great service at the register, I've been followed around inside the store every time I am shopping as though I am a thief or stealing. I shop here frequently (more than I "check in") and this happened almost almost every single time. I always leave uncomfortable. Tonight after the pictured gentlemen followed me through the store then proceeded to come to the window and look at me after I paid acting like he was tying his shoe, I've decided to not return. Yes, I walked back in and asked if he worked there. DO BETTER!! Additionally, the prices are higher than any store in NYC.

Criminal pricing. Cereal is $9.49. The price of eggs just jumped up by 50%. So did my favorite popsicle pricing. Very disappointing.

They are disgusting. Filthy, grey meat at high prices. In fact, the entire store is over priced, and management is simply nasty.

Worst supermarket with exorbitant prices ever. A carton of milk is over 8 dollars. Service is rude and condescending

Literally the most expensive grocery store I've ever been too. Milk should not be $8! Most items are double Whole Foods.

I'm never shipping here again. They sell spoiled products at a high mark up and basically tell you to get lost if you complain.

Ask the Community - D'Agostino

Does anyone really know what is going on with D'Agostinos? I know they were in financial straits, obtained some assistance from Gristedes/John Catsimatidis, but I was told they were going to repay and remain viable. What's really up?

Okay, this saddens me, but I've visited & lived in NYC for decades & have a Trader Joe's burlap bag…read moreolder than the median age of this store's workers. I'm struggling between staying positive & candor: the problem is that the average worker in NYC is less bright than most of the rest of the country. Ouch. I know. But I have encountered this very roughly a hundred times over the years. Sadly, this TJ's follows the above pattern. It's a case-study that perhaps Harvard's business school should analyze: take a great franchise, slowly muck it up by degrading ingredients, fill it with well-meaning folk, and ignore, forgive me, intelligence in the hiring process. I'll only cite recent examples, though I've a treasure trove: [1] no TJ steel cut oats, polite friendly inquiry when it might be re-stocked, answer "discontinued," fully stocked next day after I've bought Bob's Red Mill via walmart.com; [2] all raisins gone in the entire store, again cheerful what's-up? answer "will get in next month," fully stocked next day, ditto w/ walmart.com for organic (!) alternative 1/3 (!!) the price; [3] No skim milk of any variety (organic, reg, lactose-free, or from various ruminants) at 8p, gentle inquiry, "we received more at noon & hope to bring it out," then 1 employee spends all her time exclusively straightening containers at the back of the top shelf. It's important to add that their former great gift of freeing us from reading each set of ingredients like some rejected script for "Portlandia" has now been replaced by their cutting corners that affect our health and their value. Cases in point, albeit there are many: [1] Palm oil has replaced nearly all other oils in hundreds of their products (I'm not one of these crazies, but palm oil is indeed destroying rain-forests and 'extincting' apex species: 25-30M hectares, the size of ARIZONA (!) https://essd.copernicus.org/articles/16/5111/2024/); it's the least healthy oil in widespread use today; but it is CHEAP. [2] Try to find a breakfast cereal without added sugar; there are none; their shredded wheat with sugar-frost coating is cheaper than w/out. [3] The average age of their apples are 9 to 14 months old https://www.rd.com/article/supermarket-apples-10-months-old/; very little of their fruit is genuinely fresh. I've many more examples than these 6, but you get the idea. If you go 2 hours before closing, you must negotiate a phalanx of boxes and employees darting about re-stacking such that it's hard to even move down the aisles. The place is still pretty clean and the employees friendly, but I'm sorry, it's really a dumbed-down version of a formerly great franchise, and I've been to TJs all over CA, in OH, VA, upstate NY, CT, NJ, OR, just to name a few.

We have developed a congenial friendship which was founded on La Fermière yogurts. Emre knows that I price shop so invariably I know when the time is right to buy these delicious yogurts at Eden. I often buy Siggi yogurts as here they are $1.99 each. The ladies - Dolores, Affou, Mamata, Savita, Tofu - at the checkout are friendly, kind and remember customers. A few speak French which I practice with them. Being originally Greek, the Dolmas in the prepared food section, are plump and particularly tasty. It's worth buying a few to take home. Adam looks taciturn but always is kind to me. He is behind the deli counter preparing sandwiches and always gives me a quarter pound of the Jambon de Paris. Miguel and Medina are also here. A loyalty card is worth having and once having accumulated many points I paid the princely sum of $1.61 for a pretty bouquet of roses in assorted colors that cost $11.99. Now that's a steal! Eden Gourmet is the sister supermarket to my beloved sadly closed Eden Gourmet of 14th street. This too is packed to the brim with fresh vegetables, fruits, cheeses, dairy, chicken and meats. A large variety of sparkling waters, frozen entrees, ice creams and assorted temptations are here too. A small bakery has cakes and pastries available. I pop in often to get milk or to see what's new and always to say hello to everyone. I always feel happy coming to Eden Gourmet Marketplace!

You'll get all the usual grocery store sections, including fresh produce and a deli counter in the back. There isn't a ton of variety, with maybe two or three options for most items. But those options are consistently high quality. Whoever is stocking the shelves has good taste! The setup for paying is a bit weird, they've got a long counter up front in lieu of the usual registers with lanes. It can make lines a bit confusing during busier times, but not a dealbreaker by any means.
