I really love Ermina's so much. Our neighborhood really needed something more upscale because the meat is always old & grey at Morton Williams, and we don't have a large gourmet grocery store that offers very fresh prepared foods in addition to regular grocery items. Their cheese selection is superb and their seafood section is even more impressive. Yes, the prices are very high but when they're offering things like fresh green juices, wellness shots, beautiful produce like Sumo oranges and different SKUs of things that are made in house (like dehydrated, beat chips, dehydrated okra chips, etc) you get what you pay for! read more

Ermina's Market, part of the Westside Market family, has been a great convenience for me while traveling for work. It's an upscale specialty market offering farm-fresh produce, quality dairy, imported cheeses, butcher-cut meats and poultry, seafood (including sushi), a bakery, prepared foods, and an in-house café. It's more of a well-rounded neighborhood market than a cuisine-specific store. The quality of the food is good, though prices are noticeably higher than what I'm used to in California -- which I understand reflects the cost of food here. I'm vegan and currently transitioning to incorporating protein, so I tend to return for the same items. I usually purchase their salads with turkey, which work well for my diet, and the consistency has been reliable. Most of the staff I've encountered have been very nice. A young woman at the coffee counter was especially welcoming -- she greeted me warmly and offered helpful food recommendations, which I appreciated as someone working and staying nearby. I did, however, have a checkout experience that stood out. About a week prior, I had purchased raspberries that were unfortunately spoiled when I returned to my hotel. I documented that issue. When I returned the following week and checked out with the same cashier, I later noticed on my receipt that I had been charged for raspberries and blueberries that were not in my cart and never placed on the conveyor belt. What made it feel unusual was the timing -- having returned bad raspberries the week before, then seeing raspberries appear on my receipt again despite not purchasing any. I'm not assuming intent, and it may very well have been a mistake, but it did make me pause. Because of that, I now make a point to carefully review my receipts and will likely use a different checkout line moving forward. I'd recommend other customers do the same, just to be safe. Aside from that experience, Ermina's has been clean, convenient, and helpful during my stay. I stopped in at Ermina's a couple of weeks ago, when I was staying in the neighborhood. It's a great market. From produce to cheese to prepared foods to snacks...Ermina's has it all. I was heading to the train after doing my shopping, so I grabbed some snacks and drinks to enjoy on the train. But if I lived near Ermina's, I'm sure I'd shop there all the time. The salads and the sushi and the prepared food were all calling my name. There's also an in-house cafe and some outdoor seating as well so that you can enjoy your purchases there. This is a grocery store that looks beautiful but does not live up to expectations. Things we were excited about: 1. The "artisan" bakery: the bread is homemade but somehow does not seem particularly fresh. The focaccia is saran wrapped and made with a blend of olive oil and sunflower oil. Would have expected better from a place claiming to serve Mediterranean home cooked food. The pastry shelves also included the same green pistachio muffins, bagels, and doughnuts found at your nearest sidewalk coffee cart. 2. The coffee bar: above average coffee, but I was annoyed that a small cold brew with oat milk was $6.50 ($7 with taxes). The coffee is from For Five, a roaster out of Queens. 3. The prepared food: largely free of seed oils which is a big plus, but few vegan options. They had homemade hummus, and we tried the jalapeño one that had literally one small piece of jalapeño in the whole tub. It also tasted like they used basil instead of cilantro. Weird. 4. The grocery section: we were hoping for some interesting specialty items such as kombucha, meat alternatives, plant milks, interesting pastas, etc. but everything was pretty standard and not much beyond what you'd find at an average grocery store around town. Overall, we were looking forward to having an alternative to NYC's mediocre grocery scene, but Ermina's is ultimately just a larger and more photogenic version of Westside Market. (They didn't even bother to change the Westside Market labels on some of their prepared food items.) They have a lot of potential, but we will probably give them awhile before returning so they have time to work out some of the kinks. read more

Interesting addition. Apparently it's associated with west side market or something but who cares. Better than gristedes. Low bar perhaps but I'll take it. Produce is of better quality and the prices are more reasonable too. Still don't know how Gristedes stay in business. Service here is friendly enough. I've gotten meat and veggies here and it's been solid. Better meat selection than some competitors too. Good selection of packaged goods. Cooked food, haven't tried but they look decent enough. read more

To be honest, I am kind of obsessed with this place! I am so glad that they have so many prepared foods, and also, a lovely coffee bar in the front! Smiley face the price is at the "for five" coffee bar are certainly reasonable. Although, the portions are a little bit small. The cashiers don't know how to speak English! Because I tried to talk to one of them, and they didn't respond, but they did their job fine other than that. The produce and groceries itself are a little bit more expensive than, say, Trader Joe's, but for the convenience of being in the area, and the lovely ambience of the grocery store, I would say that it is worth it! They have a lot of gourmet foods, and carry brands like the juices from Pressed Juicery®, while also making their own freshly pressed juices. read more

With every visit this place continues to get worse, mainly because of its customer service! Never has anyone at check out ever acknowledged me or even responded to me saying hello to them. I try to engage they literally ignore you. They are always talking to each other ignore you to joke with the male at night who I assume is the manager and stand around eating. Speaking of said male, he could care less, eating and contributing to their lack of customer service: They look miserable. Giving an extra star because I have had semi decent service in the hot food area, the store is always clean, prices are decent and it's convenient to my location. DO BETTER!! People in my building refuse to return and I am starting to think I won't either. read more

Ermina supermarket sells expired produce. There's no quality control in this establishment. On January 14th 2026 I bought youghurt that expired December 13th 2025. I also bought a block of cheese that was on sale and it has zero flavor. Makes me think it's expired long time ago as well. Avoid this dishonest place, maybe dangerous for your health read more

The store is new and clean and yuppiesh, but more expensive than everyone else in the neighborhood and, more irritating, does not bother to put pricing on most of what they sell, either on the container or on the shelves, which is rather untenable. If a store cannot bother to tell you how much you are going to pay, they do not fulfill even their basic obligation to customers. Instead, shop at Amish Market around the corner on East 45th, or Morton Williams on 2nd Ave. and 48th. read more

Ermina's Market is an absolute gem. Everything here tastes like it was just picked, just baked, or just prepared--the freshness is unreal. From the produce to the prepared foods, you can immediately tell this is a place that takes quality seriously. The fruits and vegetables are vibrant, crisp, and full of flavor (not the sad, tired stuff you find at most markets). The breads and pastries smell like they came straight out of the oven, and the prepared dishes are restaurant-level good--perfectly seasoned, beautifully made, and clearly using premium ingredients. You can feel the care in every detail: how everything is displayed, how clean and inviting the space is, and how knowledgeable and friendly the staff are. They're always happy to make recommendations, and every single thing I've tried has been a hit. Great addition to the neighborhood! If you live nearby, or work nearby, Ermina's has added a welcome splash of life and interest to the neighborhood. It's a beautiful market. As you enter, there's a small but nice selection of flowers, a coffee bar that looks great, a bakery for a snack with your coffee or a loaf of artisanal bread, and lots of ready to eat food (salads, sandwiches etc). Step beyond, and you'll find a beautiful grocery store. Fresh fish counter, a beautiful deli, a comprehensive cheese section, all the meats you'd want, fresh produce beautifully displayed with a top variety, and everything you'd want for groceries. I've bought some premade salads (chickpea and roasted eggplant, pesto corn salad, mixed green salad with lots of crunchy vegetables) and all were top notch. Fish and meats and cheese all super fresh and reasonably priced for NYC. Prices vary but are generally in li e with the area, and they have outdoor seating for coffee and dining. I'm excited they're here, go often, and will be a repeat customer. I have been a long time Amish Market fan, and will still go there too, but this place is great and worth checking out. very disappointed with the freshness of bakery items. I bought a scone this morning at 7:50, so quite on time to expect fresh breakfast items, but oh boy was it a disaster. This scone MUST have been 2 days old. Hard as a rock, crumbling in dust, really really disappointing experience. And certainly not worth the price paid. Please do better! read more

Erminas Market in Manhattan is a total neighborhood win. The bakery alone is worth the stop (dangerously good), the prepared foods are fresh and flavorful, and the produce and organic selection is surprisingly wide for the space. The added For Five coffee shop inside a supermarket is amazing. On top of that, the customer service is genuinely amazing--friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Stopped in to pick up a salad for lunch. Very disappointed. Purchased a Caesar with grilled chicken. Chicken was good , nice chunks not too dry. But the lettuce was not fresh I had to pick out big pieces that were brown and/or translucent. Thus long past sell by date. I would also point out the price was 25-30% more than what I find at WholeFoods or Morton Williams. In addition the croutons were too soggy and the dressing included in the container was Ranch not Caesar (label was hidden). The salad was $13.99 and for that price was very disappointing. I also purchased some premade potato salad which was fresh but lacked seasonings. Very disappointed as the store looks clean and staff was very polite. read more

Ermina's is similar to Fairway but higher priced. They have a lot of imported items. They are also similar to the Amish Market around the corner on 45th. Ermina's has large selection with some, but not a lot of, personality From Ermina's website: "we are family owned and operated in the truest sense. Born and raised on a farm in Ourpakia, a village on the island of Lefkada, Greece, John Zoitas arrived in the U.S. from Greece more than 45 years ago. He brought with him a love of fresh-grown produce, authentic cooking, and a steadfast commitment to service and quality." They do have a few freshly made Greek items at the Deli counter along with much other non-Greek stuff. That is about as far as a family owned vibe goes. The Amish Market on 45th st. off 2nd Ave was started by three immigrants from Turkey in the early 1990s who bought produce from farmers in Lancaster County during the business's start-up years. So, they used the "Amish" name for their enterprise. Amish Market can't be happy with this similar market Ermina's coming and with the higher profile location around the corner on the Avenue. This will probably cut drastically int their sales I prefer "Amish" slightly over Ermina's but you will find each market, while having a lot of product overlap also have plenty of products which do not overlap and are unique to each. Neither is contributing to affordability in NY. Uptown a few blocks is a Morton Williams supermarket. They have an incredible import products section opposite the produce. I have never a better one in a supermarket. The same thing applies, they have a little overlap with the other two stores but a lot that doesn't. read more

I was excited to see this new clean market in the area. I would like to try the coffee as reviews said it was good. I'm a huge sweet potato pie person and when I saw the pie selection and the sweet potato pie I thought I'd give it a try. I underwhelmed as i don't taste any sweet potato. I thought the orange color was so light because they added lots of condensed milk but they just skimped on the sweet potato. The pie has no flavor just a chemically or perfume taste. Overall wasn't with 10$. read more
