My boyfriend took me to this place once when he was shopping for his meat and chicken and when I went to explore this place I found few interesting things that other stores don't carry. So now every time I'm coming to shop at Amazing savings I come here. This place has the most exciting selection of soft serve fruit pops. My favorite is mango and strawberry by Chloe's. You will be surprised but it manufactured in New York. It's dairy free, gluten free, kosher and it's only 60 calories per pop. I have severe food allergies and read labels before I order any pre-made food. Imagine my surprise biting into a schnitzel wrap and seeing half a mushroom with teeth marks. Nowhere on the label did it say it contained mushrooms. Now I'm having an allergic reaction. Good job Racks & Ribs. Good job. Also the lack of shelf pricing made shopping difficult. I Usually purchase food ranging from meats vegetables and fruit which the quality is very good plus the delivery service is awesome. This the only reason this place gets a three star review. Also Worth noting the market was totally crowded and I did not like the display of food how it was presented. The produce did not look nice nor did the prepared food The line to purchase your items was out of control literally people were lined up in the isles. I had attempted to purchase a few things including a heavy gallon of water and a few other heavy things. I was using a roller basket, when I asked if I can take the roller basket to my car across the street because I cant carry heavy things and I am almost 8 months pregnant. They said no only a cart, the manager than proceeded to say but there are no carts available, so I again asked can I use the same basket I will bring it back I cant carry this pregnant or I will have to leave everything. Great place, good prices, and friendly staff. A great selection of food, only you have to look for it to find it sometimes. Why? Because they stuff their freezers with food. Great fruit and vegetable selection. Try the rotisserie BBQ chicken and the round potato kugel (usually available Wednesday and Thursday nights). Lines aren't that long, and the staff are quick. Again, another place the parents go to for kosher goods. Mountain Fruit is a sizable kosher supermarket that pretty much sells everything. The prices here are also reasonable for kosher items. Baking a cake? They're got flour, eggs, sugar, frosting, sprinkles, etc. Cooking a steak? They've got the steak, seasonings, and anything you need for a dish. Want ice cream? They have regular kosher ice creams and non-dairy items like tofutti. Basically, if you're kosher and want a place to find everything, including your veggies, Mountain Fruit has an extensive selection. read more

I really only go in here when I have to. I recently moved to Midwood in April and I'm not Jewish so I don't need kosher food. The only stuff that I DO buy from this store is anything that is closed tightly. As soon as you walk in they have "fresh" rolls and bread just out in the open, uncovered (even in the summer time). I would love to buy my meat from here but at a glance, the meat looked rotten. Steak had turned from red to that gray, silver color and I would never buy meat here for JUST that reason alone. I will probably continue to buy meat from fresh direct. I was thinking about trying Pic N Pay a few blocks away, but I'm little worried about the cleanliness in there as well. read more

The cashiers at this store will rudely ask for your phone number before they even start scanning your items. I am thinking:"Lady, all I am trying to do is buy a couple of cucumbers. Do you want my social security number too?" So, I just tell them my number is 718-666-6666 to which they roll their eyes and then ring me up. Why do they collect everyone's phone number, I have no idea. Produce section is not fresh and is really overpriced. They do, however, have some good produce deals that they place outside, at the entrance of the store. Those tend to be cheaper and fresher too. read more

This is a place where everything is certified Kosher. If your looking for Kosher food and are looking for the convenience of having everything in one place, then this is the place for you... if you don't mind spending a few extra dollars. Some of the food is average kosher food prices and some is a bit high. There is no service.. but which supermarket does have? The take out food is pretty good and they have a decent selection. The one thing that I didn't like, was the ladies that put down two items on the checkout.. leave their wagons and continue shopping.... the cashiers... just leave it and wait for them! I hade to go from lane to lane.. and was turned away 3 times because someone put their stuff down and walked away! Now thats nerve! This place used to be great. The quality has gone down so much lately. The last several times I bought fruits and meat they were off. The chicken smelled and looked very obviously off. Took it to the manager who said it smells fine and did not want to refund me. I asked my friend who is a chef and he almost vomited. Decided to get fruits again, the bananas and mangos appeared ripe but were somehow firm. The pineapple had some sort of white substance in it and appeared grey inside. I will now avoid this place altogether. Better prices and better quality literally a few blocks away at Glatt Mart. Shame on mountain fruit! read more

This place is only good for the fruit in the name, although most of it is overpriced. Don't bother coming here for kosher fish as every package of fish looks as if it was cut without a knife. I have never seen such poorly butchered meats. The one time I happened to go in I witnessed the manager/ owner berating a staff member because he couldn't properly pronounce mango. read more

I am a customer of Mountain Fruit for the past couple of years. I am very price conscious and I have to say that they are the most reasonably priced Kosher supermarket in Brooklyn. You can't beat the quality and freshness of the meat and fish departments. You get your money's worth just by shopping at their "wall of specials". I have found the staff to be helpful and friendly. I don't know who the two negative reviewers are, but they are completely off the mark. The produce by Mountain Fruit is inexpensive (at least, the outside stands are) and of excellent quality as well. They have beautiful fruit and vegetables inside, but they can be more costly. They have EVERYTHING that you may need, and it's all Kosher too! (And, yes, Kosher meats are more expensive than non-Kosher..it's just a matter of fact. If you want extremely cheap, shop in some franchised store like Shoprite and don't buy Kosher.) The store itself is clean and well lit. The employees there have always been extremely nice to me. Maybe Lauren and Max (who gave the awful reviews) are just nasty people (look at the language they use!) and therefor people try to stay away from them or respond to them in kind. Mountain fruit is awful! i placed an order and was called non-stop 3 hours after i had placed it with some foreign woman telling me that almost half of what i ordered was unavailable like ice-cream-unavailable!!!! Over and over again I was called with her telling me this isn't available, we don't have that and to make things even worse at 7pm, 7 hours after i placed the order i was put on hold for 6 minutes while they figured out when my order would arrive.Finally I was told that my groceries will be by me later than 10pm or I could pay an additional $7.00 to expedite it. How ridiculous!!! I canceled the order and will never use them again!!!!! Customer service is horrendous!!! Go to Pomeranate, Glatt Mart, Shopsmart, anywhere else! If people don't respect you, don't do business with them. Mountain Fruit will not be recommended to anyone I know. They have lost a valuable customer. read more

this is a kosher supermarket in an Jewish orthodox community. orthodox families tend to be large,some having as many as 14 children. feeding all these hungry mouths is a challenge, but at kosher prices,it is ridiculously expensive. a middle class family of four would not be able to buy much meat here, and becoming a vegan is a serious choice. as kosher marts go, this is probably less expensive than most others.But it is still much more expensive than non-kosher food. as prices of non-kosher products increases, the kosher prices may look more affordable. but you can buy a non-kosher chicken for $1.59-1.99 a pound. However, a kosher chicken will cost more than $2.99 a lb and could be higher.Meat is much more expensive, as is turkey and fish. who can afford to spend $15 and more on a single steak? Or a roast of 5 pounds can cost $40 or more. this is why mostly orthodox jews shop here- they have to. they cannot eat any other food. read more

I like the discount I get at the beginning of every month that is based on my purchases the previous month. They have just about everything I need, including a gluten-free section. Since they opened across the street it is definitely a cleaner looking store. My issue was with buying an $11 honeydew! After I left the store, I saw I was charged $2/lb instead of $2 for the honeydew. Figured it wasn't a big deal , and I would just take my receipt to the manager to be adjusted, after all I obviously did not buy 5.5 honeydews and assumed it was a careless error of the cashier. I never imagined that the manager would say that it was indeed $2/lb and that is the return that they get most often in the store! I wouldn't have even willingly paid half that for a honeydew ! The manager was not rude about it, but if its an ongoing mixup (after all this is astronomical pricing) they should have clearer signs. Felt very cheated! read more

I can't explain my feeling after finding that I have been cheating by this store (or the people who run this business). After been a customer store since May of 1999 I found out today that I been cheated. However, it is not a reason I am writing those lines. The reason is an employee - who, I assumed - was a manager (or in charge instead of) and his totally disrespectful, humiliating, and arrogant attitude toward me as a customer. The personnel - he refused to tell his name - I needed to bring my issue up to his attention doesn't deserve even one star so I am very generous. I do shopping at the store at least twice a week for many years, and found out that, for instance, during year of 2011 there were only entered in the computer system the purchases I did in April, August, and October. Where are all many others, and why then the employees operating the cash registers ask me my phone number every time before to check out my items? The mentioned above "manager" talked to me arrogantly and had blamed me that I want explanation of what happened. He didn't tell his name and didn't show any intention to rectify the situation, to offer apology or at least treat me civilly, when I am as a valid customer found that been treated uncivilly. Moreover, he turned around and walked away from me. He, perhaps, think that he resolved the situation; but it's has not been because the humiliation I received from him can't be simply left. Not to mention about cheating me with the points. I ask everyone who will read those lines: your points may go to someone else' account. Once again: when a cash register employee asks for your phone number and you think your purchases go on your account to accumulate points, don't believe it.
