We also get mushrooms for sauteing and farm fresh tomatoes for a caprese salad. Peaches also are the star of a nice peach cobbler. Mmmm . . . . foodie heaven. My only complaint about the market is that it's not open every day of the week and it's on the small size -- small compared to Grand Army or Union Square -- but beloved nonetheless. I was walking around when i saw they were selling baked goods. The prices were great! I got 2 apple cider cinnamon sugar donuts for $1 and an apple crumble muffin for$2.50. The prices were great and the baked goods were even better!! They had other items as well as an apple cider drink. The staff were nice and explained their products. There was a small crowd for this small farmer's market but it is worth going to visit and buy fresh items.

It's open year round on Wednesdays and most of the year on Sundays (the last weekend this year was December 19th and they'll pick back up in the spring.) Wednesdays is generally the better day and I highly recommend the bakery for excellent baguettes and Stony Mountain ranch for killer bacon, sausage, fresh eggs, the best bone-in chicken breast I've ever had, and truly the cutest proprietor ever. (Off topic, but holy moly is he cute!) They also carry a wide range of other meats and I'm definitely going to grab one of their steaks or pork chops, soon! In the spring and fall, they have a great salad/lettuce vendor (usually on sale for 3 clamshells for $10), a mushroom vendor, and more vegetable/fruit vendors - including one who carries beautiful and reasonably priced flowers. There's also a great seafood vendor with the best scallops I've ever had, but they seem to appear more infrequently. I still do a big shopping at Grand Army once or twice a month to pick up flowers, seafood, and fruits and veggies during the cold months (when this market is pretty barren) but this little guy will always be my number 1.

Anchos, Chipotle, etc. But they also have fare that caters to a very ethnically diverse hood - Asian, middle eastern, etc. For example, they've got big eggplants for Italian fare, but also the little Indian ones - in bulk.

I was skeptical about there being another supermarket on this block, but they seem to be doing…read morewell. Always check expiration dates, because there are often products past their date on the shelf. They do take returns if you realize that you bought something expired, just show them your receipt to prove it was already past the date when you purchased it. There's no scale to weigh produce, and you have to watch carefully at the register, because sometimes the scale might not be correctly calibrated, or there might be something leaning on it. I was once charged for four times the weight of produce I purchased, but luckily I noticed, went back, had a different register reweigh the items, and they processed the return minus the correct charge of the items. It's definitely inconvenient to have to be so vigilant when all I want to do is pay the listed price for groceries that aren't expired, but at least they correct their mistakes on a case by case basis. You're better off at Isaac Apple or Carnival, but this place is ok. Especially if you like the Frank Sinatra soundtrack.
