Well they have both here by the pound and VERY fresh and wife said they were a good price at about $6 or $7 per pound. It was the fresh Beefsteak style tomatoes that drew me in for $1 or $2. They were so plump, fresh and bright red, I couldn't resist. Checkout person was as nice as could be and now wife wants to make a return visit because produce in our regular stores is rising with inflation. Give them a try!

I was walking around when i saw they were selling baked goods. The prices were great! I got 2 apple cider cinnamon sugar donuts for $1 and an apple crumble muffin for$2.50. The prices were great and the baked goods were even better!! They had other items as well as an apple cider drink. The staff were nice and explained their products. There was a small crowd for this small farmer's market but it is worth going to visit and buy fresh items.

It's open year round on Wednesdays and most of the year on Sundays (the last weekend this year was December 19th and they'll pick back up in the spring.) Wednesdays is generally the better day and I highly recommend the bakery for excellent baguettes and Stony Mountain ranch for killer bacon, sausage, fresh eggs, the best bone-in chicken breast I've ever had, and truly the cutest proprietor ever. (Off topic, but holy moly is he cute!) They also carry a wide range of other meats and I'm definitely going to grab one of their steaks or pork chops, soon! In the spring and fall, they have a great salad/lettuce vendor (usually on sale for 3 clamshells for $10), a mushroom vendor, and more vegetable/fruit vendors - including one who carries beautiful and reasonably priced flowers. There's also a great seafood vendor with the best scallops I've ever had, but they seem to appear more infrequently. I still do a big shopping at Grand Army once or twice a month to pick up flowers, seafood, and fruits and veggies during the cold months (when this market is pretty barren) but this little guy will always be my number 1.

Well, I can definitely vouch for their gorgeously spacious Brooklyn Grange Farm + Farmstand located in Sunset Park that I visited recently. Although they have a nicely visible sign pointing to the direction of the rooftop farm, it took me a couple of twists and turns before finding tthe right building, locating the corner elevator, pressing the button to get to the rooftop and arriving to the sliding doors to get to the actual farm -lol. Complete awe came over me as I stepped outside..... So many words can be used to describe Brooklyn Grange Farm in Sunset Park but I will just simply sum it up by saying that it is spectacular! Ok, so I have to add a bit more...lol. Yes, it is spacious as I stated earlier in this review and has such a calming armosphere, etc.. Rows and various areas of wonderfully wonderful rich soil, growing greenery, robustly colorful vegetables, herbs + flowers, beautiful butterflies flying around...All of that and so much more was present at this rooftop farm overlooking sensational scenic views. Just taking so many deep breaths to inhale glorious fresh air while walking slowly around the farm to take in everything made me feel extremely grateful + blessed. Friendly, hardworking staff were kind enough to greet me as they tended to the farm as well as to the farmstand where produce grown is available for purchase. There was an array of peppers, herbs, greens and even carrots. Happily, I bought some mixed salad greens which tasted delicious. Brooklyn Grange Farm + Farmstand works w/ non-profit + CBO's (Community Based Organizations) to provide resources/services including environmental/farming education.
