Been coming here for a long time but this year it feels like I've been repeatedly overcharged. After the 3rd or 4th time it happened, I asked the cashier to confirm the price of a certain item. She answered, then stated definitively "$17 is your bill." I find that an odd response - so either she did not want to be challenged or this is part of their store policy to pad the total. The appeal for the masses are the cheap produce. Being the cashier said "price of bread gone up" when I said I don't want to pay $5.99 for the bread in plastic. Since he was trying to give me a lesson on economics, I thought I'd remind him there is fresh bread for sale for less than that. The cheap produce doesn't add up to better and healthier. There is a reason this store blocks the sidewalks from pedestrians while constantly stocking their cheap produce. Why are some things so cheap? Look into it! You get what you pay for sometimes, and it's your health first. The workers are SO rude, like the cashier on 11/13/23 that rang someone else up when i had items on counter! I stepped 3 feet away to place something back since they wouldn't honor sale price for two items priced the same (blueberries & raspberries)! Oh well, saved myself the chemicals. read more

I hate to give this place a bad review since it's one of the only markets open 24 hours on 7th Ave in Park Slope, which I often frequent late night. And otherwise, the store is usually well-kept, and the service is friendly and attentive. But over the last three months, I had two incidents where the food on the shelves were unfortunately expired. The first time it occurred was about a month ago, I got a Naked Juice which I started to drink right after I left Mr. Lime and immediately knew it tasted off. I checked the expiration and it was a week past expiration. I went back into Mr. Lime and kindly asked for another one which they obliged so I let it go and considered it a fluke. However, just tonight I bought a bag of tortilla chips, and they were expired by three days, again indicated by the taste. I'm not sure what's going wrong here since otherwise the service and selection of groceries are otherwise top-notch. Hopefully, they do better on re-stocking, checking inventory, and double-checking if necessary. If you do go shopping here, please check the expiration of each product before buying! read more

I strongly will not recommend anyone to go here; unless they are in a budget. It's not worth getting their produce. The only good thing in this store is that their stuff are cheap. Go here only if you want to deal with grifters and not get fresh produce. Their produce doesn't hold long and needs to be eaten soon. They have the worst customer service ever. I have been coming to this store for a couple years, 2+ a week, since I found them. Been referring family and coworkers to this place After this incident, I will not be RETURNING again. I went here a couple days ago to get a few items, the owner's son (pudgy Korean guy w glasses) tried to cheat me out of my change. I pointed out to him that he gave me the wrong change and he gives me an attitude. Went inside to check the cameras and comes out insisting that I was the one trying to cheat the store as he was giving me back the correct change. No apology was given and knowing that he was at fault I'm not going to continue supporting them and referring people to them. They have overcharged me a couple times and I haven't said anything. Beer selection is very good -- but the beer fridges are not cold! You have to throw any beer you buy here into your own fridge at home for 30 minutes before drinking it. Fruits/vegetables are either super expensive or on a super discount - watch for special prices! read more

My go to for groceries in Park Slope! Although it's a small store, there's a good variety of dairy products, frozen foods, snacks and condiments, and fresh produce. They also have a bunch of Korean snacks and meal preps (big plus - don't have to go to Hmart all the time! - although not as comprehensive as Hmart). The prices of their fruits/vegetables are always changing (but always reasonable) but sometimes there are really good deals on like $1 for a box of strawberries! And they are relatively fresh though I wouldn't recommend keeping for too long. read more

I used to really like this place when they first opened. Good vegetables and fruits in stands outside the door, fair prices, that draws people in. But the quality has gone down and prices gone way up. Recently I picked up an 8 oz pack of bacon, which has always been expensive at about 8 dollars, but with grandson visiting and loving bacon, I thought it was worth it. He rang it up---$12 now!!! That's a lot more than other markets in the area. Wow! I even said something to the cashier that I'd have to cross that off my shopping list in the future. And tonight I got a pint of ice cream, it was $9. Sorry, this place has become a rip off. You know when it's more than Union Mkt it's pretty bad. I don't find good fruit there anymore either, it's usually over ripe, like the bananas and mangoes, the price is only lowered when the fruit is turning black. Yuck. read more

If I lived in this area, Mr. Lime would be a go to place---- especially for produce simply because the prices are right. Located a few feet from the F/G train 9th Street stop, Mr. Lime is a nice sized store that's a combination of gourmet and bodega. And yes, open 24 hours. So convenient. The outside vegetable and fruit bins contain incredible discounts found nowhere else that changes daily. Today--blueberries at $1. Green grapes at $0.59 a lb. Huge stuffing mushrooms---$1.00 a box. And more. Once inside, there's a juice bar also reasonably priced at $4.00 for 16 ounces. The store carries other necessities/goodies such as a large variety of beverages/beer, packaged nuts/trail mixes, sushi, olive oil, ice cream, meat (such as bacon and vacuum packed ground meat), eggs and so much more. Some items fall into the gourmet range---price wise. It's not a supermarket so don't expect a butcher section or full service deli counter. But whatever it carries works well and this store is a convenience to have in Park Slope. Real nice. read more

When I moved, the thing I knew I'd miss the most was being close to Mr. Mango, which was my favorite grocery/beer shop in the area. Luckily, there's a Mr. Lime near me now. Granted, I still like Mr. Mango better, but it's a solid contender. You get what you'd expect in terms of good craft beer selection and cheap produce, and friendly staff. read more

Look for the daily $1 specials out in front of the store. If you shop here once a day you can fill your fridge with delicious, often organic, fruits and vegetables for a fraction of their normal price. Be flexible and save a bundle. read more

I have just left Mr. Lime on 7th Avenue in Brooklyn, N.Y., for the last time. I have been OVERCHARGED EVERY TIME I have gone there. $1 here, $2 there. But, tonight, I was overcharged by $10 whole dollars! When I questioned the prices and requested it be re-rung one item at a time, my bill went from $21 to $11. I advise asking for a receipt EVERY TIME because the prices marked won't guarantee that is what you will be charged depending on the cashier. The woman that rang me up tonight was so INCENSED that I dare to question her AND BE RIGHT about being overcharged. I went to "tap" my card and did so on the wrong side. When I flipped the card over, SHE FLIPPED OUT! With her hands waving, she began to YELL at me... "You don't know how to tap!" "You should ask somebody if you don't know how to do something!" I was so shocked because it was completely out of NOWHERE!! After I shook off the initial surprise I told her that "There are too many grocers to choose from that won't abuse its customers!" My initial instinct was to let her have it! My parents, my child and school teachers would be proud of my restraint! The "Manager" called a "calmer, more professional cashier" to finish my purchase but he never offered an apology nor did he chastise his employee. This leads me to believe this behavior is condoned by management. So to sum it up; 1) Know the prices beforehand, 2) Watch the register 3) Don't tap incorrectly (LOL!) 4) Get a receipt and lastly and MOST IMPORTANTLY 5) Choose another grocer if you can, I know I will! read more

Mr. Lime is the quintessential, indispensable 24-hour neighborhood bodega that every NYC area needs, not enough still have, and which can never remotely be replaced by some app-driven glorified vending machine. Mr. Lime features some impressive, quality produce. And unlike other stores that try wring every last penny out of those wilting veggies, they put the riper stuff out front on sale, where you can find great, ready-to-eat bargains. They also pack in a solid assortment of packaged food and household essentials at the de rigueur slightly-above-supermarket bodega prices, as well as an impressive assortment of beer at shockingly reasonable prices, all in an impressively clean space. For such a place, they also have a great assortment of healthy options, highlighted by a great juice bar. Don't just take my word for it - I often wind up on line in the wee hours behind doctors and staff from the nearby Presbyterian Hospital in here with their juice, fruit cups, nuts and cottage cheese breakfasts. Sure, I'm there with the reasonably-priced six-pack and a block of cheese, but it's nice to know those healthy options are available, and I'm sure I'll partake... one day. read more

I've never written a bad yelp review before. Over the past week, I've entered Mr. Lime 4 times. Each time, one of their workers (the same worker--tall man in his mid-twenties) wore his mask on his chin while interacting and checking out patrons. And each time I left without purchasing my item because he blatantly disregarded covid rephasing protocol. That was fine I went to a different store for my items. I decided to go tonight because I figured that same Grocer probably wasn't there. He wasn't, luckily. I wasn't going to malign the name of a small business during a pandemic, but now I have actually been provoked. I was checking out, when this elderly homeless man (who had a mask on--i have much more respect for him than that particular Mr. Lime employee), walked in and asked where the potato chips were. The staff immediately told him to leave. He had money and was willing to pay. He even showed them that he had money to purchase the item. They argued back and forth for ten minutes. All he wanted was something to eat. He left with nothing. From now on so will i when i pass Mr. Lime. read more

This place is my new grab and go veggie spot after work. They have seriously decent quality veg sitting outside that is outrageously cheap for the area. Bag of carrots for .50 cents or bell peppers, 2 for $1? I mean, what a great way to stock up on veg after you spend all your hard-earned Park Slope money on Whole Foods meat? Hop right off the 7th Ave stop and you're at the door of this mecca. A vegan friendly store in Park Slope. Surprisingly, it is not easy to find vegan options in Park Slope. Then one tired afternoon, emerging out of the F train near 7th avenue and 9th street...there is Mr. Lime grocery store, and besides some fruit and vegetable selection, I came across displays with... not just your typical, "Oh, here's ONE vegan cookie!", but choice after choice of excellent snacks for Vegans on the run. I filled my basket with over 15 magnificent vegan snacks, that I would not otherwise be able to find, in all of Park Slope. I know that all fruits, vegetables, and whole grains are better food, but sometimes, things get busy and I just need a snack. This afternoon Mr. Lime was a pleasure to find after searching for cafes that did not have vegan baked goods or snacks. On the practical side... great finds but aisles are super narrow and super busy. The crowds are pretty intuitive about moving around, but some , bumping around occurs, here and there. I'm just rating the fresh Juice... A-mazing!! I always saw a line for this place, and it's a healthy food neighborhood, I finally tried it, and ordered the sore throat: Apple ginger carrot parsley, and it was fantastic!!! I honestly don't juice much, but Wow! I wanted to go back immediately for seconds, but it was $5 for a large, and I didn't want to splurge. Also, the make extra and never short the customer, in fact they make enough for u to drink many sips and then they top it off with the extra. I saw they repeatedly do it, and it so nice that they fill it to the brim and don't waste the extra juice. Also, service speed and politeness for juicers was superb. The best part about this place is Diana-- she does the juice bar. She is personable, funny, she's always remembers what me and my partner like, and she's just a joy. I come here really just for her. Aside from that, the produce is really fresh. They must have a great wholesaler. It's wayyy better than anywhere else in the neighborhood. And all the groceries are so inexpensive! We get all our groceries here. Even though it's small and crowded, it's still worth it. read more

I get businesses trying to save money but if they're not going to actually keep the beer cold in the refrigerators why even bother having refrigerators? Just disconnect them entirely and take the doors off, you'll save even more than running a bunch of fridges on the minimum setting. Been coming here for years. Love the quality and price of the food but am very disappointed by the staff there after an incident today. A full grown man didn't notice or care about the line and tried to go in front of me. The staff behind the counter said nothing so when I said "sir, I'm online" he growled, got behind me and started yelling "what my f-ing problem" was and said I wasn't in the right place for the line. The very best fruit I've gotten anywhere. Such great healthy options. Very clean and courteous. My only problem was with a woman who kept eating the grapes or as she said "testing" them. I'm standing there staring at her to finish "testing" every bag she could get her greedy hands on until I raised my voice at her telling her to stop stealing. Honestly, who reviews a small store (almost a bodega, but bigger)? Well, I do. I freaking love this place. I stop by most mornings of the week before work for random necessities that will power me through a long 12 hour work day. They have fresh produce, vegetables, a million different types of milk type products (soy creamer, regular creamer, coconut creamer, yogurt, cheese, etc), vegan products, health conscious products and low carb cookies!! (To die for; not entirely low carb when you eat the whole container, but it happens). They also have fresh coffee in the morning, packaged fruit, sushi, salads, juice and a small selection of regular groceries. This store will literally serve any type of craving I will have throughout the day, and the people who work there are friendly and helpful. read more

Bar far the best small grocery store in the area. I work right around the corner from this place and always stop in here after work. During the summer they always have really well priced fruits outside. Depending on te day they will have blackberries, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and other assorted fruits starting at only $1 a pack! They seem to rotate which fruits are $1 daily but you can always count on them having good prices regardless. Once inside you will probably notice this place is alittle cramped. For the size they have a great selection of products. They carry beer, organic foods and natural products and fresh veggies. One area they could improve is the meats. Generally speaking they only have chicken breasts etc. I would like to see then offer some beef products, but I understand it is hard in such a small space. One other aspect f this place that makes it stand out is its fresh juice bar. Immediately to your left when you enter you will see the juice bar. Juices range from $3-7 depending on size which is a great deal for this area. They are also good about accepting credit cards even American Express an their low minimum of $5 on cards is easy to meet. The employees also have a good attitude which I truly appreciate. read more

This local grocer is alittle farther than some of the bigger stores, but it is often worth the trek. We tend to come here to pick up a selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. Their prices are almost always cheaper than anywhere nearby, and the quality is pretty top notch. Mr. Lime is definitely worth a visit if you are nearby. read more

I'm pretty much a regular here. I walk in and out of this place a few times a day. They have different stuff coming in at different times of the day. Always something different, which is great! Very cheap in season vegs and fruits. I like they have a suggestion board for types of produce/beer you want to see them carry. lots of organic stuff. in fact, pretty much all the stuff is organic. I think I went there looking for some UTZ or Lays chips only to find all organic, healthier options. Not complaining really..it's better for me but not good for the wallet. Love this grocery store. My husband is the type to price comparison shop ( I am the type to go to the most convenient place) and he has found this to be some of the best deals for produce in the area. He even found prices cheaper than Trader Joes. He took me by the shop last night and I was very happy with the selection of produce. I am going to be making green smoothies and eating fresh fruit until I get sick of it. I had a chance to look at the other products and they carry some interesting coffee brands (at least 2 local!) and pretty much any other grocery item you may be looking for. They carry many brands I already use. The store is clean and well laid out. It is a little further for me to walk but it is worth the trip. I will be back. read more

Still five stars! Still come here several times a week. The produce is still so cheap and good and the staff are still super friendly. Produce is cheaper than I've found it anywhere else, and they also have supermarket comparable prices on a lot of things like fresh pasta, tofu and coffee filters (random, but all things I buy a lot). Not a great selection of organic produce, but it's understandable with the limited space. Anecdote time: Once I bought Japanese curry roux, sausages, carrots and onions, and the man at the till asked me if I didn't need potatoes too. I had potatoes at home, but what concern! Great service :) Another time I mistakenly gave a Korean 100 won coin instead of a quarter (they look the same). I had just come back from a trip to Seoul. I think it endeared me to them. I normally love this place but they are very inconsistent with their price for one liter bottles of Fiji water (and I'm sure other waters as well). Depending on the day and cashier they charge anywhere from $1.75 up to $2.99! To me that is ridiculous. Today I decided to say something to the cashier when he tried charging me $2.99 for water that was $1.99 Monday-Wednesday. He actually had the nerve to tell me, in a tone that implied I was stupid, that is impossible and one liters are always $2.99. Yet they do this constantly!! And they most definitely know they're doing it too. Not very customer friendly. read more

Normally I have a halfway decent experience at this place but tonight was absurd. The cashiers were in such a rush they were all incredibly rude and trying to rush all the customers. Which was ridiculous because there were four cashiers going and maybe 5 people in line, honestly calm tf down people don't mind waiting a few minutes. The cashier was in such a rush he THREW my bag over the counter and broke a bottle and then went "do you need a new one?" WHAT? OF COURSE I need a new one!! Are you kidding me? The produce prices are insanely low. They usually carry what is in season which drives down the prices. The boxed and canned goods are pricey but organic and tasty. I wouldn't buy those things here all the time, but good for a tasty treat once and a while. Most is organic and they also have a good gluten free and vegan selection for those who want/need it. They carry baked goods as well! And have a coffee bar. Excellent staff! So accommodating, friendly, and fast! read more

I come here around once a week. Prices are very affordable and look for deals on produce -- though be warned, the produce outside often spoils fast or is already bad, so check for mold especially on the berries. Otherwise it fits all my typical needs; occasionally, I'll need to shop elsewhere when I need more specific ingredients they don't carry, like cubed butternut squash. I've also been rung up for the wrong amount since it's all done manually, so check that the price seems right. read more
