I have learned to avoid it because I have never encountered as much expired stuff on the shelves as I have here. You have to really be on the lookout. If there's a product you'd like to see on the shelves, they take suggestions seriously--and often bring them in. Their produce is consistently fresh, which already sets them apart, and they're easily one of the most affordable grocery stores in the area. It's rare to find that combination of quality and price these days. On top of that, the staff are always friendly and welcoming, which makes every visit a genuinely pleasant experience. Always feels a bit tough to judge a supermarket, and this neighborhood already seemed to have plenty. This newish option nonetheless still feels like a welcome addition. It is particularly impressive to me how bright and immaculately clean this store is--even later in the evening, when I often shop and feel like things have gone to shambles inside--and how friendly and helpful the staff is. As i often find with neighborhood markets in this area, prices and selection are kind of a mixed bag--some things seem quite reasonable and others on the expensive side. So you might not find everything you want here or choose to do all of your shopping here. But offering such a welcoming environment for what can typically be such a generic and standard establishment and experience makes this feel like a worthy place to frequent. read more

Love staff, but lately I've been noticing that prices on my receipt don't match what's written by the shelf. It's frustrating having to reconcile the two, especially when the price on the receipt is $0.50 to up to $2 more per item. This needs to be addressed by management asap. read more

The deli guy there is a miserable person and should be fired. He takes away from an otherwise stellar grocery store. I understand waking up on the wrong side of the bed on occasion but he's consistently awful and I've had multiple bad interactions with him. He won't look up, doesn't ask customers how he can help them and will look out of the side of his eye at obviously waiting customers pretending like he can't see them... forcing customers to ask him to help them and makes customers feel like they are inconveniencing him by having to slice cold cuts. They he just throws the cold cuts down and doesn't say a word turning his back. Today the two customers ahead of me left because they got tired of waiting for mister personality. My 2 cents... Buddy, if you don't like your job and have zero customer service skills, work somewhere that doesn't require interacting with other human beings. read more

First there's a sub outside seating they've got the best beer cave in the neighborhood. But then you go in and seriously there are bodegas with better selections than this place. And worse, in the beer cave NOTHING is priced. Nothing at all. You're just supposed to guess how much everything is, or be surprised at the register when a typically $5 beer is $9. Sorry not sorry! You just lost a sale, Urban Market v Oh and about that register. Employees are just loafing around flirting with each other. Employees openly are vehemently refuse to wear masks properly. When asked politely to put their mask on and wear it above their noses, they get into loud arguments, complete with tirades directed at the customer. One showed me his vaccination card as the reason he doesn't have to wear his mask. I had to tell him vaccinated people can spread the virus. This was my first visit to the store. I abandoned my cart and went to a less dangerous store a few doors down. Urban Market is a health hazard in the neighborhood. read more

CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATES ON EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU BUY IT. every single time i have shopped here, i get home to find that at least two items are passed their expiration date. i feel like i shouldn't have to read the dates on every single item i buy when i grocery shop but i guess i will from now on at this store. read more
