Great guys, very trustworthy and they get the job done at a fair price. It's hard for me to bring my car to the dealership because I have no idea what they're talking about and I feel extremely pressured to just hand them my card and say yes. These guys never do that. If you drop your car off for service and they find something either wrong or could be fixed, they'll call you and give you your options and tell you that you can get it done another time if you need time to think about it. They're also very accommodating when it comes to pick up. I'll usually drop my car off in the morning when they open and get picked up, go about my day or hang out with a friend at The Irvine Spectrum (just down the street) during the time my car is being serviced. No longer a fan. When a distraught loyal customer comes to you about car problems, don't immediately assume the fix is a $300 dollar part. I came here in March to diagnose some engine stalling issues on my car and a check engine light that kept popping up, along with 1st to 2nd gear-slips. I explained the symptoms, "When I try to start my car in the morning, it revs really high, over 2,000RPM and after a minute of the needle jumping up and down, while I desperately pumped the brakes and shimmy the steering wheel, the car completely stalls." This happens alot on cold mornings, after it's rained, or if the car has been sitting idle and parked for more than a few hours. I assumed it was my engine idle component or something to do with the transmission. It is the original tranny and since I've accumulated almost 242K on it, it's a reasonable assumption the Just because you have high turnover... and just because I come here once or twice a month to ask questions and recommendations on my car, you don't need to be rude and dismissive to a loyal customer. I know I've been coming here a lot with my parents because I'm starting to notice that the proprietors Jeff and Jimmy are now carrying AARP's magazine in their waiting area. I'm so terrified of getting scammed by a mechanic in my "new" (does five years still count as "new"?) town of Las Vegas that I go back to Orange County, CA as much as humanly possible, usually "COINCIDENTALLY" timing my trips back with whenever I need an oil change, 30K maintenance, or am otherwise having some kind of car trouble.* In reading some of my fellow Yelpers' reviews, it seems that those with non-Japanese cars feel slighted and perceive Jimmy and Jeff as having a Seinfeld-y, "NO SOUP FOR YOU!" attitude towards other makers. This is not the case! While waiting for my oil to be changed, I watched as Jimmy explained to a customer who owned a Mercedes that the shop would be willing to fix it, but since they only carry Japanese parts, they would need to special order whatever parts the Mercedes would need, so the process would be longer and he couldn't guarantee a completion time. I've taken my car here several times and they're usually great. Quick, don't rip you off, and my car (knock on wood), is running fine. Hondas, Toyotas, etc., they are good at the foreign cars. They're even open on Saturdays, although you have to be there early in the morning because lots of people are there on Saturday to get their maintenance done. Its just a really small shop, so its a bit tricky at first to find, but once you do, its either this place or Honda Heaven in HB to get your Honda or Toyota fixed if you're in OC. Fast and cheap repair work. They claim to use OEM parts but my brakes started squeaking after a couple weeks.

The previous mechanic I had been to, told me that I would have to get my motor mount replaced if I wanted the vibrating to stop, in all honesty I though the car vibrating was kind of sexy. Especially when I started the engine, vroom vroom. That vibrating started to get super annoying, and I was really scared that my car would become further damaged if I didn't do something about. I came here at 7:30 Friday morning and there was already 4 people inside the store. One of the men took my car out for a test drive, and told me that my motor mount definitely needed to be replaced, they showed me where it had cracked and was broken on top of the engine. It cost me $350 to replace the motor mount, $240 for the parts and $90 for labor. Which was exactly the same as what the other place had told me!!!! I am so glad I found two mechanics in different cities which I trust and are honest about the services / parts they are replacing. I am such a broke mofo now, but it's ok because now my Civic runs just as perfectly as she did before I damaged her. P.S. I forgot to say that Jeff or Jimmy ( I dun remember his name) freaking put my old motor mount in a box, I thought that they wanted me to take it home or something HAHAHAAHAH. read more

After getting ripped off for years at the Stealership, I decided enough is enough and wanted to go a reputable, HONEST mechanic. Thanks to Yelp, I found this place after seeing they specialize in Japanese cars. The owners are super nice and friendly Chinese guys (if my Mandarin was better, I'd totally communicate to them in Chinese). They don't BS you on getting unnecessary repairs and only tell you what is mandatory to get fixed. Their prices are also very reasonable and they don't overcharge on parts. I highly recommend you go to these guys if you own a Japanese car. The only downside is that since they are so popular and have a great reputation, the wait time can be very long. So, be prepared to wait it out or have a ride handy! read more

My colleague recommended I take my Acura RSX to this shop to get it fixed, since she's read great reviews on yelp and had her oil change here not too long ago. The check engine light turned on and since Freeway Honda is conveniently located down the street from my work, I stopped by and had them run a diagnostic test. They charged me for the test and told me it was an emission problem and needed to replace the O2 sensor. In addition to that, I was told I needed to replace the brake and P.S. fluid. They provided me with a nice big quote...$970. :( I went to Vtech and had the O2 sensor and brake/P.S. fluid replaced. Cost: About 40% less than what the dealership quoted me. I will definitely return for other services. The service advisers at the dealership are really nice, but unfortunately, I cannot afford to pay for their customer service. read more

I went in for an oil change after getting fed up with going to the dealer all the time and feeling ripped off! They changed the oil within half an hour and told me other things that I needed to get serviced on my car. The manager (?) seemed like a very honest guy. He never pushed me into getting the service right then and there (when I went to other places to get estimates other managers had the nerves to do that!!). Went to vtec because my oil light came on. That was April 2016. No problems. Cheap and easy. Fast forward August 2016 and my maintenance light came on. I go back to them and apparently they can make this light go on after driving 5,000 miles. I got synthetic oil which doesn't require changes until 10,000 miles. They simply turned off the light indicator on my car and charged me $10 for it. I did have a plastic piece under my car sticking out and they put that back, but I don't appreciate that they pretty much charged me for something that 1. is a total waste of my time, 2. for being sneaky, and 3. making me wait 20 minutes to get my car back for such a simple process. I do go to them for oil changes and a battery change, but I'm a little leery of their other services and keep all the receipts in chronological order. Two stars for the competitive prices though. read more

I usually take my car to the dealer for repairs and minor fixing, however on my most recent visit there, I had needed to fix two things that involved my axle and my brakes. I had no problem getting them fixed, however the problem was in the pricing. They wanted to charge me and arm and a leg to get those fixed - for a normal chick with a normal lifestyle - this was not gonna do. What did they think I was, the wife of some rich basketball player or something? Anyway, I wasn't gonna do that, since I would've cried in a corner if I did. After getting two recommendations from my trusted friends, I've decided to give this place a shot. After talking to Jimmy and colleague, I had a good feeling and they had accommodated all concerns I had with patience, understanding, and honesty.
