I met & talked with a Lady that said this place was great & how clean & Safe & Spaced out this place was, well she was right about the spacing & cleanness of the place. They tell u to Sanitize your hands while waiting, but they are busy so they can't monitor who Sanitize & who don't. Why I say this is because I NOTICED A FEW PEOPLE THAT DID'NT SANITIZE before being SEATED, while I was waiting to get SERVICE! So all I can say is USE CAUTION, AS I DID( I SANITIZED BEFORE GOING IN , with theirs at the door & AFTER I CAME OUT WITH MINE OWN AGAIN .... It was my first time going there, and they had quick service. I will say the second gentleman I had did the design well and was gentle, but the first gentleman that did my manicure part was extremely aggressive around my cuticles. I left with bleeding around my cuticles. read more

Got acrylic tips put on here a bout a week and a half ago with French tips. The French manicure was had such a thick line and I told the lady it looked super thick and she told me it was supposed to be that thick. Have four of the three tips put on coming off already. They also put them on crooked. Kind of feel like it was a waste of money since I now have to get a whole new set less than two weeks later since four of the tips are already coming off and the rest are crooked... not pleased... They also "forgot" to give me the student discount even though I asked them right before they took my card to charge me. read more

Everything is very unsanitary. Nail files had clearly been used before and never been cleaned. I doubt the other tools used for my mani pedi were ever sanitized because they're put in a bottom drawer so you can't really see where they're coming from. During my pedicure the tools were used on me and then put back in the drawer. The same tools were then pulled out and used on the man next to me. Yuck. I'm sure breaks so many health codes. The "clean" towels they laid on the foot rest for my pedicure were clearly dirty. Had multiple colors of nail polish wiped on it. While putting lotion on my legs she reached over and grabbed the massage chair remote to move me closer. She got lotion all over it. Yuck. Then she immediately dipped her lotiony hands that had been all over my legs & the remote, into an open bowl of scrub and scooped some out for my feet leaving some of my leg lotion behind in the scrub, which I can almost guarantee was put on someone else. When I moved to the manicure table there was nail dust and nail clippings all over the table and under it on the floor. Neither was wiped or cleaned before starting my service. I definitely got some else's nail dust on me. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because they did do a pretty good job on nails despite how unsanitary everything was. They looked good! But I can't let myself return because it's just an infection waiting to happen. read more

I've tried a few different nail salons in Baton Rouge and I have concluded that V's is my favorite. They offer a small student discount which is nice and they pay attention to what exactly I ask for. Being the closest nail salon to LSU's campus, they do get pretty busy. Reasonably priced and my nails have always lasted a while. Literally had an appointment at 10:30, when I walked in they didn't even act like they knew I had an appointment and were taking other people before me. Then I had to sit in the pedicure chair for about 30 minutes with no one helping me. Then when it came time to do my nails, the lady made them all uneven. On top of that I was there for 3 hours. Let me start by saying I would NEVER post a negative review to this extent if it wasn't truly egregious. So while I'm getting my nails done this afternoon, the lady doing my nails cut me while she was filing them. It stung, but I figured it wasn't a big cut since she didn't even seem to notice. So she puts her file away and continues to do my nails, using other tools they re-use for multiple clients. I am VISIBLY bleeding on the side of my nail bed at this point. By the time she circled back around to this nail to do the next step, I have to ask her to be careful because it is bleeding. She says "oh" and continues. She finishes, and I don't sit and inspect too closely because I assume I'm overreacting to how painful this is. I pay, including tip, and get in my car. At this point I inspect the cut and I immediately start shaking because it is SO DEEP. It immediately begins to bleed again and at this point I'm worried that they are going to use these tools again on someone else, having my BLOOD on them most likely. So I go back inside. This is where things get really ridiculous. I quietly ask to speak to a manager and step behind a partition so that I am not saying this in front of all their customers currently in the salon. The female owner/manager comes over and I calmly tell her what happened and I ask if I can file an incident report. She doesn't really respond to that question and just says "I'm so sorry that happened, sit right here". So I sit, and she tells me she's going to clean it. She cleans it with some unknown alcohol of some sort and then tells me she's going to put Neosporin on it. Before I can even pull my hand away, she has TOUCHED THE TUBE OF NEOSPORIN TO MY OPEN CUT. Y'all. What?! No cotton swab or q tip. My body language at this point must have been clearly disturbed and disgusted and I'm trying to leave. I ask again if I can fill out an incident report and she tells me "no" straight up. Then, the same female manager says to me that she's going to get me a gift card for next time. So I get up to the front, she confirms that I got "dip" (SNS aka the powder type of polish) and she then proceeds to offer me a gift card for HALF THE PRICE OF THE SERVICE. At this point, I was already never coming back, but that definitely confirmed it. I tell her to save it, and that I won't be coming back anyway, and I walk out of the salon as she yells "wait ma'am, wait". This is where is flat out CROSSES THE LINE... the male owner runs out of the shop and FOLLOWS ME TO MY CAR. Literally all the way up to my door trying to now offer me CASH because they're so scared of a bad review. I kept saying "No, please stop" and he continues to walk towards my car until I get in and close and lock the door. So yeah, would not recommend. Would give it zero stars if yelp would let me. read more

It's really inconvenient that they don't take appointment reservations. You do not know which nail tech you are getting and you could wait easily over an hour on any day. its organized chaos. i went recently and had both a mani and pedi. i got the pedi done first and wanted the color to match my toes. she put the color on my fingers and I asked if it's the same color and she replied yes. When done, i looked back at my toes and they were completely different colors. I should have said something but it's their job, and I gave her the color they just used on my toes. Extremely dissatisfied and will not be going back there. in addition, they don't clean off their tables and it seemed dirty. read more

Not the best salon in br. Clean and nice but they don't care about your time. I've been the chair for almost 45 mins and she just now has started painting my toes. Once I walked in the door no one said anything to me so I just started looking at the gel colors found which one I wanted and sat in the waiting like ok um someone can ask me what I need now. It's just me in the waiting. So when two white girls walk in and are immediately greeted, asked what they needed and told to sit in a seat before me a WOC who was there before them of course I'm heated. I sat for a while to see if any of the employees would acknowledge me but no one did so I left! I hope it isn't a race thing but this is certainly no way to treat your customers!!! read more

Great place to go for pedicure...perhaps. However, if you want Dipping Powder, I would go elsewhere. I have been using Powder for years and never had this kind of experience with it before. Within the first 2 days one nail started to chip. I came in to get it fixed after work and I waited an hour to get the one nail fixed. Fast forward 6 days and I have now 4 other chipped nails. The wait to fix them now is 45 mins. Are you kidding me? I did not pay $40+ for cheap powder polish to have to come back 2 times now and wait an hour to get them fixed. I should be worked in before you take an hour to put a full set on someone else. Fix your mistake and let me get on my way. So, if you're interested in an experience like mine, come to V's! If not, I'd go find another place. I live close to V's but I'll gladly go out of my way in traffic to get better service/nails than to go through this again. read more

I went here on recommendation. I went a total of three times. My first experience was lovely and my nails came out perfect. The second and third experience were horrible. The last two times I went I spent a total of three hours in there each time. My nails were crooked and my paint chipped the next day. I've been going to this place for over a year and I've only had a few okay experiences, other than that they were terrible. Not only do my nails not look like what I wanted, it took forever and they peel off after a few days. They work on different people at the same time and leave you waiting forever. This place sucks. Young dude that works there cut my skin and it's deep and hurts. When it was bleeding, they put a chemical on it which made it worse. I wash my hands it burns this is worse than ever. Plus I got dip nails and it's already falling off. Got it three days ago and that has never happened to me because they stay on for weeks. DONT EVER GET YOUR EYEBROWS DONE BY THESE PEOPLE! It was an older guy doing the eyebrows today & said he had been doing eyebrows for ten years but the results were more like 10 minutes! I can take you messing up a nail because a nail can get fixed but you can't put the hair back on my face! I have natural thick eyebrows & he made them thin as hell & uneven & even left me with a big gap in between them because he took too much hair from the beginning of my eyebrows, so now they are just short, thin, and uneven! But to top all of this off, he wanted me to pay full price of $10 for this! He got frustrated when I pointed out the obvious mistakes that he can't take back & said "well five dollars" & I wasn't having that either! He then gave in & said just leave... of course he didn't pressure me more into paying for it because he knew I looked a hot mess & it was his fault! read more

They always offer refreshments & take their time with their services and aren't rushing you in and out. The first time I had gone here, I had a man who was rough around my cuticles. But I had gone a second time to fix the design done by a prior nail salon. The lady I had was very nice. She greeted me right away and sat me down. She was understanding and fixed my nails to make the design how I wanted it. After she kindly told me I was finished and did not expect pay for the fix. Overall, it was okay. Not the best pedicure I've ever received. Had at least 3 different people come and take over throughout the course of it. They seem to take on more clients than they can handle.
