Went here for the first time yesterday after seeing them come across my instagram. I booked an appointment with Ricky for a gel soak off (from a previous nail shop) and the Apres Gel X nails. The shop was cute. I booked a 5:45 appointment with Rick, and when I walked it they were pretty busy (makes sense because everyone is getting off of work around this time); however, we started on time. Ricky was very nice and understanding because this was the first time I had gotten these nails. Service was quick, but still great. I love my nails! They came out better than I pictured in my head. I dont usually write reviews unless they are negative, but I love my nails soooo much I think it was NECESSARY. So my girl Tammy did my nails and girl it was . I literally called and was like I want my nails done, and they were like gel, and I have NEVER gotten my nails done before so I was like no girl... want my NAILS done. Ive gotten them painted regularly at a nail salon, but I dont really count that. Gel is a type of cool nail polish that is STRONG. Whats stronger is Tammy's ability to replicate what u want!!!!! But real talk, its not about will I will be coming back, but when lol. My nails are overgrown bc my nails grow so fast, but I still get compliments on my nails despite the overgrowth. The environment was so sweet. I felt so comfortable there, and its got good reviews for a reason. workout a lot, especially with weights and other gym equipment. They held up, and they are STRONG. Honestly this is the best nail salon in Baton Rouge. It is small and connected to a gas station which feels odd at first but once you're inside, it's absolutely adorable and the staff are all AMAZING. Jules remembers literally every customers name, even people who get their nails done by the other employees. She does my nails and I can attest that I will never go anywhere else. She pays so much attention to detail and works quickly while still making every nail perfect. I can't tell you how many times she has squeezed me in at the last minute bc I had a nail "emergency" and wanted a quick change. I cannot recommend Perkins Nails enough!!! read more

Review update, since you can't reply back to a comment from the owner: That is an absolute garbage response to my review. Own up to your mistake, the person who booked my appt never asked "what kind" of manicure I wanted, they just took my name and number and that's it. I also never said i needed anything RIGHT NOW, don't twist the truth to make your business look better than it is. Get off your high horse and train your staff to be better. And in your own words, have a good day. One last thing to note: prior to my review, their most recent review on Yelp was 3 months ago. Now that they got a bad review from me, all of a sudden they have several new 5 star reviews within a 2 hour period. Super sus, guarantee those are there as a result of the owner asking people to give them some 5 star reviews to make up for my 1 star. Comical. This place reeeaaaallllyyyy sucks. They do an ok job on your nails but man, they don't give one single eff about customer service. Don't bother booking an appt, they won't have anyone there to do it. It's happened to me twice now. So I love Jules and the staff here. My first experience was probably a year and a half a go. I happened to go to cc's coffee in Zachary and the barista there suggested Perkins Nails bar after seeing and commenting on how beautiful her nails were. I went with my mom as a walk in. Jules was very kind worked us in immediately. I was beyond pleased for the price. I have since been a loyal customer. Actually my whole family goes! Yes I drive from Zachary for the service! It is by far one of the only places in Baton Rouge where you can get New York/La quality at a reasonable price. Not to mention long healthier nails bing the end result. The staff is beyond professional kind and extremely accommodating. The only changed for me is how busy they have become. which is a testament of how great the work is . I have never felt compelled to write a negative review before, but I am outraged. As a former customer, I am thoroughly disappointed with my recent experience. While the technicians are skilled, the awkward atmosphere is simply not worth the hassle. The owners despise any inquiries regarding their work and display personal bias toward "certain customers." The staff consistently use sly innuendos, creating a very uncomfortable environment for "certain customers." When I expressed my displeasure respectfully, the owner, Jules, response was unprofessional and degrading. She took this opportunity to list undisclosed "infractions" she had documented about me, which she had never mentioned during my numerous visits. She basically had a recording of any concern or inquiry(insignificant or otherwise) I voiced during my personal nail sessions, proving that this establishment speaks negatively about their customers both to their faces in another language and behind their backs. In my experiences, the owners are inconsiderate and lack compassion for anyone outside of themselves. It is clear that this salon does not support a mutually beneficial model, as their policies heavily favor the business rather than considering their consumers. Without a doubt, I would NOT recommend Perkins Nails to anyone looking for a respectful and customer-friendly experience. read more

The first time I went I brought a glass of wine since it was my best friends wedding day and we were getting our nails done. While I was waiting for my friends to finish up, I stepped outside in plain view to smoke a cigarette. They started yelling about how "that drunk lady is trying to leave without paying!" I came in and paid and left. Three days ago I went back to get a dip manicure. -They got tools from the back which were rewrapped in the sanitation pouch, but was not sealed which shows they have been correctly sanitized. -Dipped my fingers directly into the powder jar. -Unable to shape them correctly and now they are as thick as acrylics. -Unable to fill in the area around my cuticle. They charged me 45$ for this. Never again. read more

NAILS WERE HORRIBLE, service was terrible. As a first time customer I went in for a manicure pedicure. They started on my feet, then left half way through to cater to the white customers who had just walked in the door, meanwhile my feet are getting cold, and the water is getting cold. The manicure was rushed and they didn't even give all the services to me that was listed under the manicure title, they put my hands in hot water and sloppy painted over the nails and not to mention did a horrendous cuticle. I feel like it's honestly a waste of money and time. When I asked to remove the polish on the nails the women yelled at me saying that it was my nails not her polish, when I simply asked them to remove the polish because it was done sloppy, bubbling and peeling all upon drying. It goes to show at this nail location if it's not white then it's not right. I watched them perform the same services that I received and didn't get half of what they got. i never leave Yelp reviews but i just felt the need to after this experience. i've been to this salon a total of 2 times. first time was honestly great other than getting a couple of small cuts. but with their great service i was willing to suffer! i am a full-time mama so i brought my little girl and they were VERY understanding and helpful with her. well i went back (mostly because i had a gift card) and now 2 days later i have 2 ingrown toenails and the girl who did my nails (she was very sweet) was so rough and it hurt so bad. i will not go back to this place. :( read more
