I originally just wanted to get my one nail fixed and said I would do the rest when I got back home. I asked if they took walk-ins and they said yes. I waited maybe 10 minutes, if that. Shae looked at my nail and said ok, I can fix it for you. She also asked if I wanted her to fill in the rest of my nails. I am EXTREMELY surprised by the positive reviews. I have multiple issues with this place: 1. I got acrylic nails. They broke 2 days after I receive a full set here. I went to another nail tech to fix it and they commented on my set saying that my nails were done so poorly and so thin, it's no wonder they broke off 2. Rude customer service. I was basically ignored when I walked in. And staff were entirely too busy talking and laughing with one other to cater to their customers 3. Extremely prejudice treatment. I was one of two black women in this establishment. Both of us were essentially ignored and talked over our entire visit. They were, however, extremely kind to the older white women. Mind you, I make it a point to be extremely courteous to all service employees I encounter because I understand their tremendous value to society. I was not afforded that same kindness and respect. 4. My nail shape was very poorly done. I asked for skinny coffin and got a sloppy rectangle. I will NOT be returning. I have been so happy with my experiences at Lavish Nails. I was genuinely thinking I'd never find a nail salon I'd like (in Baton Rouge). I've gone twice now (in the past month) and both times were with Nancy who did both my dip powder and pedicure. She is AWESOME and a perfectionist -- definitely deserving of a 20% tip. I didn't have to ask if she could fix "x, y, z" because she's more of a perfectionist than I am -- which is saying a lot considering how obsessed I am with clean lines around the cuticle and thin applications of dip powder. I promise, promise, promise you won't be disappointed if you ask for her. The massage chairs are comfy and the salon has been recently updated. Additional bonus: asian market and Bao next door for you to visit after your mani/pedi. If you're a germ-a-phobe, it might bother you that you dip your nail in the powder pot of the dip powder (instead of a separate dish filled with powder meant just for you, which is a total waste if they have to throw the remainder away). Don't know why this bothers people as they obviously clean your hands beforehand. read more

My new salon was not open, so I decided to go here to get an overlay fill & pedicure.. (My nails needed to be done desperately.) I am current 8 month pregnant and could go into labor at anytime!!! My service started off ok, seemed like they really didn't want to service me, they talked very loudly amongst each other the entire time. My pedi came out ok. The lady who did my hands started on them while I was getting my pedi.. I noticed when she was taking my gel polish off she had drilled my nails to an awful shape (I should I stopped her there) I sat down in the chair and had to ask her to cut my nails down, she acted like she didn't want to or couldn't do that. I had to TELL her I liked short SQUARE SQUARE nails. She then proceeded to cut my nails with very dull nasty clippers. That left my nails very jagged & uneven. When she started filing my nails she wasn't even trying (I once again should have stopped her there) I had to ask her multiple times to go back & fill in on certain nails to make them look even, as to which she would catch an attitude & start yanking & throwing my hands around. She was very rude & dismissive if I knew her name I would put it in this review. I ended up stopping her when she did my second coat of gel polish because I was over it and READY TO GO! I will insert pictures of my nails, all of them are different shapes. I also noticed while I was there one of the lady's doing another woman's nails went to the bathroom & did not wash her hands when she came out. You might say how do I know that she didn't wash her hands, well when she came out of the bathroom, before she started back & finished the woman's nails she sprayed her hands w/ the alcohol. I'm usually a very good tipper in my opinion, and I did plan on tipping, but my last straw was when I paid she decided to lay my change out on the counter as if I didn't put the money directly into her hand. I went to Lavish Nail for a pedicure Friday the 25th from reading some good reviews online. I requested a 4 pm appointment, and the technician was already waiting for me. ( good sign ) right? Well....she seemed to have an attitude right from start When she cut my left big toe so deep that I told her it was hurting me, she became extremely offensive and rude and asked me whether I wanted her to continue? I told her nicely with a smile on my face to please just go easy. She continued with an attitude and finished with my pedicure. The service was $40 and I tipped her 15% where I normally tip 20% . I've been going to my regular salon in Houston twice a month for several years and never have any issues . With my frequent visit to Baton Rough , I was hoping to find a good nail salon. This salon is in a great location, and the place was nice and clean. The lady who greeted me at the front was very pleasant, it is a shame that an employee has to treat a customer with an attitude. Best nail experience EVER! I received a full set with dipping using 2 colors. My total was $45. There was no wait at all. Services took about 2 hours. The attention to detail is unbelievable. I was way past-due for my monthly pedicure. And I admit my favorite nail salon is not in Baton Rouge but in Orlando, where I visit regularly. I have tried 5 or 6 places here. So far Luxor on Perkins is the best I have found. Today I tried Lavish because I needed to go to Southside Produce and I didn't want to drive anywhere else. Lavish is meh at best. The people are very nice and that is what kept them from getting 2 stars. The actual pedicure was subpar. First, I think it is important to see that the tools that are going to used on me are sterilized. I don't like to take that for granted. I didn't see that. The woman next to me was receiving the same kind of pedicure I was getting and was underway when I sat next to her, however I was done a full 5 minutes before her. My feet hardly soaked in the tepid water before my old polish was being taken off and my nails clipped. Then my feet got the best scraping ever, which means I was extremely uncomfortable but understand why it is good. I am very ticklish! The massage I received was adequate. The hot towel wrap could have been hotter. The next thing that happened was polish and then I am done sitting at the blacklight table. Then I realized that a file wasn't used. That has never happened before. I sat at the blacklight table for nearly a half hour. No one came by to check to see if my toes were dry. So I paid and left. Since 2016 I have come to this nail shop on and off. As of recently my nail sets have not been consistent. My last three sets didn't make it to two weeks. If the dip didn't pop off completely it was cracking and peeling before a week. Today was my last day giving Lavish my business for sure. On Saturday I asked for tips and a French tip. Loni decided she would take it upon herself to do a really basic set of nails using dip and gel polish instead. So a set of nails that should've been around 25 dollars turned into a 55 dollar job, I didn't make a big deal about the price different because I expected these nails to last at least 3 weeks. After wearing the nails for less than 24 hours the gel polish was coming off and the top coat was peeling. So now on Tuesday I make time to go back into the shop to show her and get them repaired. She did the repair for free only the nails now look worse than when I initially came in. The nails are now extremely bulky and misshapen. It literally looks like the person who was assigned to "fix" my nails had just started doing nails today. Honestly after today i will not be returning to this shop and unfortunately I'm a few years too late. The staff always makes me feel like their Caucasian clients are the number one priority in this shop I have witnessed numerous times the difference in services between myself and other African Americans versus the services giving to caucasians in the shop and it's unacceptable! Very cute little nail salon. They carry many lines of polish including gel (longer lasting) polish. They have really nice pedicure chairs and an overall nice atmosphere. They tend to you quickly and their prices are very reasonable! I had a shellac (sp?) polish manicure over two weeks ago and there is not ONE chip! She did a GREAT job! Will definitely be going back. They also remove your gel polish for free so you dont try to pick it off. And the owner told me there is never a wait for a polish change. read more

I use nail salons in different places as I travel for my job and can't coordinate an appointment with salon hours in my rural small town. Tried Lavish Nails today and was pleased with the results. This was a busy place when I was there and there seemed to be plenty of regulars. Friendly people and the nail stylists visited with each other which is something u like as I like to relax and not make small talk while getting my nails done. Had both a pedicure and manicure and was happy with both. Will visit them again when I am in town.
