My mom treated me to dinner on Tuesday, 04-29-24. She'd highly recommended V's. I'd planned to get the veggie plate but she recommended either the ribs or the oxtail. I went with the ribs; they came with two sides. I chose the mac and cheese and the sweet potatoes. The entrée also came with cornbread. We also had a side of the cabbage/collard green mix. It was very good. The staff was pleasant. They had a good selection of music playing during our short wait. I forgot to take pictures of my food. Should my mom decide to bring me back, I'll have a tough time deciding on the veggie plate and the oxtail.

We were on the hunt for some good southern food in Durham and this was recommended to us. Located in a small parking lot with other small eateries, it's pretty easy to find. The location is has proper COVID19 protocol in place. You can't eat in, but you can await for your food - they still limit how many people can be inside and within 6 feet apart. We ordered: Ox Tail plate - it comes with rice, two sides, and bread. We opted for mac and cheese and cabbage/collard mix. The meat was soooo tender and flavorful! Like it was literally falling off the bone. Very meaty pieces and not bone/fatty pieces. The gravy was thick and flavorful as well - it made them taste like a hearty pot roast! Next time, I will ask if I can have it over mashed potatoes instead of rice. The mac and cheese was good not bad at all just not something I would be overly excited about. The cabbage and collard mix - very spicy for those not ready for it (someone in our party wasn't - so it wasn't good to them). I believed it to be good, next time I would want them alone and not mixed. The roll I can go without - mine was dry and without good flavor. I actually would have liked to have something a little more sweeter like an Hawaiian roll to balance out the spice from the cabbage. Three piece fried chicken plate - it comes with two sides and bread. We opted for mac and cheese and green beans. The green beans tasted as if they were picked from the field, very fresh! Chicken wing plate - it comes with two sides and bread. We opted for mac and cheese and cabbage/collard mix. The chicken was fried to perfection! Not greasy or old tasting like some restaurants will serve you. The seasoning was subtle - which was a nice touch. You get a good amount of food for the pricing. Especially the Ox Tail plate! We will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu!

I found this place after looking for a soul food restaurant while visiting Durham. This was the best choice ! The customer service is phenomenal and they were so patient with me and my sister as we were new. I am so grateful for the turkey wings because too many places do not cook them anymore. I do wish they had more drink options besides tea and bottled soda, but nonetheless IM RETURNING

Tony Roma's is located in Durham, NC. It is attached to the Delta Marriott Hotel. I was seated…read morequickly when I arrived and got to pick from a low or high table. I selected a low table with a view of the basketball game. The parking lot is good sized and has free parking. The restaurant had a health score of 95. It was sticky where I sat, so not the best first impression. The menu had various items but just a few selections in each category. They offer a few salads, a few burgers, some steaks, ribs, some chicken and seafood options too. It took a while for the manager to take my drink order. I was thirsty so drank it fast. I expected a refill. But that never happened and I was ignored all night as was the table next to me. When I sat down, the bartender was very flustered. A group was trying to get to an event and she was struggling with the check. She was then in tears and I am not sure where she disappeared the rest of the night. That should have been my red flag to go elsewhere. I knew this was going to be a meh meal from the moment my order was taken, I went with the 6 ounce filet medallions and asked for a baked potato instead of mashed potatoes. It is spelled as "medaillons" on their menu. Check the website if you don't believe me. The typo should have been a sign to order something else. It was to come with up to three gourmet toppings, I wasn't asked if I wanted those or even how I wanted the meat cooked. I was never brought any complimentary bread like was given to the tables near me. My food came out fairly fast, the quality is what you'd expect of a lower level chain. I wasn't served filet mignon. I'm not sure what it was but it wasn't that. The tv went off soon after my meal arrived. I pointed to it to the manager but he ignored the problem. I wanted to see the Duke game. The other tv was not a good view like that one was. I asked another employee later and she attempted to fix it but didn't seem to know how to connect it. I think it just had to be turned back on as it seemed the timer shut it off. I patiently waited for over 30 minutes for my check. Service here is a hot mess. I was tempted to just walk out as they had forgotten about me. The restaurant seemed to have plenty of staff and was not busy. But they failed to refill my iced tea, check on my table or other tables. I did complain about my 30 minute wait for the check so was given 10% off. But that isn't enough to get a return visit. I left a minimal tip, because service was non-existent. The small discount didn't make up for being ignored all night, no drink refill when my glass was empty, not bringing the complimentary bread and the delay in receiving my check. I do hope the employees receive better training so they can learn how to properly service their tables and multitask. This place also needs to be better managed. 3 stars for the food but 1 star for the poor service.

Waited about 20 minutes to be seated but there was no host or anyone at the front. We decided then to seat ourselves at the bar instead of going somewhere else. The Bartender was very kind and made up for our initial impression but was obviously overextended. She tried her best to keep up with the drink orders and serving guest in the restaurant. The rest of the restaurant was quiet. No music playing. There were other guests drinking and maybe one or two servers. Food was okay as well. Nothing really stood out. We ordered the potato skins, pasta primavera, New York strip, and a couple of cocktails. It served the purpose we set out for. Overall this just seemed like a bad night for the restaurant and not how it normally operates. I would try again another time to see if there is a difference.

I came at 5:45 on a Monday (because no other places are open on Mondays!), and was one of maybe four me. In the place. The rest were moms with one or two (or more!) kids, some waiting for dad to join them after work. I ate in a covered patio that in a few months will be too hot to endure. But tonight, mid-March, it's a sunny delight. I ordered a smashburger and a Kingstown Negroni. Drae stirred my drink and out the order in, and it arrived with fries just minutes later. Juicy double patty burger, caramelized onions, cheese, salt & pepper fries. Fresh and very tasty. WiFi was fast, music was smooth but subdued. (Think Sade and Barry White dueling. Wish I wasn't alone!) Kids were everywhere, but very well-behaved and in explore mode, which I find adorable! There are outside areas covered in open or tarps, clear flexi-glass walled off areas, and true "indoor" places you can watch TV in. Everything from Top Gear to REN & Stimpy. A great way to spend an early dinner/very late lunch.

It's kind of a bug and feature. They have the order from your table QR code set up where you can get drinks and food served to you either inside or out. The service is always quick and prompt. This place is great on a nice day. It's not somewhere I would typically seek out myself unless with friends (with kids) or hosting a small party (where there might be friends (with kids) attending.

I got a refund and was going to eat the sweet potatoe fries, but it took so long for barbecue sauce and the 1 fry I tasted wasn't good. I asked for my money back for the fries too and the waitress got an attitude and refuse to give me my money back. We just left and we will never come to this restaurant again or recommend it to anyone.

Now the review: I stopped by for an early dinner and ordered the Chicken Salad Wrap, which came loaded with lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon, and a Texas Pete mayo wrapped in a flour tortilla. It was fresh, filling, and well put together, with the bacon adding a nice smoky bite. The sweet potato fries were also pretty decent. Also this time I tried their house cocktail, "The Local" just how it comes with Conniption Kinship Gin, tonic, lime‑rosemary simple syrup, and a rosemary sprig. Mine was strong -- definitely a sipper. The margaritas had that delightful amount of heat that hit you in the throat instead of the tongue. I decided to go with the salad special for my entree and add salmon. It was delightful -- a unique salad with a southern mix of bacon, black eyed peas and field greens. It was not the best salmon I've ever had but it was well seasoned and not overcooked. Husband enjoyed his burger. Our food came out fast. Overall a great experience.
