Voodoo donuts is well known for their friendly, welcoming and hardworking staff and pillowy soft yeast donuts, crispy-cakey, light and airy cake donuts and a great selection of decadent flavors choices. We had a tough time narrowing down which donuts we were going to get but honestly really liked all of them. And as basic as this sounds, I loved the plain cake donut...it had a perfectly fried crispy exterior and a dense but airy interior that was exactly my kind of donut. The yeast donuts were springy and light and so fresh, really great. Happy that we took a little detour to stop by while in Denver!
We stopped by on our way to the airport, and I'm so glad we did!! There's construction on the street, so no parking in front. We found a paid lot in the rear - sign warning no free parking. We found free street parking down the block and walked back. We shared the featured donut- Vegan Elvis. I'm definitely not vegan and I would never believe the donut was vegan if I didn't see the sign myself. It was AMAZING 10/10!! Customer service was great. I really wish we had a Voodoo donuts at home. See you next time!!
What's fun about voodoo? It's just all the options. You can get a chocolate or glazed donut anywhere, but you can only get the creative variety here! And the options change regularly. Of course the signature donuts stay, but they're always keeping it fresh by adding new selections. The donuts are definitely thick and chewy. One is enough and very filling. The service is great! We had fun picking out our dozen and getting input from the baker. Voodoo is also fun because they keep it current by advertising things in their local community like the Broncos versus Bills playoff game, and having a specialty donut to commemorate the final season of Stranger Things. The vibe here is the same as anticipating your birthday as a kid! It's just a fun place to grab a donut.
Very fun, delicious, variety of flavor doughnuts! Very limited street parking and no dining table. Come in and pick up from a wide variety of delicious doughnuts. Beautiful new Orleans voodoo vibe with beautiful classic chandelier and hip arts. Service is good. Very delicious doughnuts.
Pretty solid donuts, if they changed their oil they fry the donuts in more often, I see a clear path to five stars. Service is good, like the pink festive packaging.
I will always love Voodoo! The best part is as a vegan I have a good amount of menu items that are completely vegan! The vegan diet count is my absolute favorite and it is completely mouth watering. This voodoo location does not have great parking but is such a vibe when you get inside.
A little disappointed with this Voodoo. I've been to several (mostly in Portland) this one the doughnuts just were not as good. The go tart had virtually no filling (I've had this many times at other places) and the Sagark bite was weirdly lopsided on filling. The service was fine, and the overall ambiance if the story was somewhat typical Voodo but it felt a little cramped in comparison to others. I was with people and this was there first Voodo experience and it wasn't the greatest. However we went to the other Denver location later in my visit and was able to redeem them.
The donuts are OUTSTANDING!!!! They have all types of unique donuts!! The customer services is always on point!!! Parking is a bit rough but worth it!

Voodoo was very cute and they had a huge variety of donuts, however they look like they taste a lot better than they do. They're average donuts - soft and tasty but nothing that made me say "mmmmmm, this is so good". Ya know what I mean? If you're a donut lover like I am you've had that experience before and Voodoo just didn't hit like that. Is it worth visiting? CERTAINLY! Again, the variety alone is reason enough to check them out. We ordered the chocolate ring, Memphis mafia, oh captain my captain, cannolo and the viscous hibiscus and they were ll pretty good. Coffee was fresh and hot. Lively atmosphere inside and staff were nice and helpful if you're unsure bout what to order.
I love the vibe, I love the donuts, but they lost a star for not having the only donut that really matters... the holy grail of donuts... the apple fritter. I did get a super cute little voodoo guy and he was delish AF but no apple fritter to grab makes it impossible to grab five stars. If I'm ever in the area again (or if they open a location in my city) I'd love to try them again but they better have the fritter this time :)
During a recent trip to Denver, we found ourselves at Voodoo Doughnut 3 times during our 5 day stay. Sadly, I wish we'd made it 5 out of 5! Fresh, creative, delicious doughnuts! Great hours, and friendly service!

We opted to try these after seeing the original shop on TV. Super close to hotel, so we used the delivery option. Talk about fast! The donuts were fresh and delicious. We HAD to try the donut dolls. We were not disappointed. We each had two donuts, the doll and then a smaller regular one. We were stuffed! A really Great quick and delicious option for breakfast if in downtown Denver! read more
Guess what guys! They're open during COVID! Only ten people are allowed in at a time! I've never been to this place but I've heard a lot of good things about the original one. Walked in and was greeted by the friendliest of staff! It was like they were surprised to see anyone come in. Ordered a bunch of donuts with the suggestions of the employee! They're all really good, and I definitely cannot eat a whole one in one bite a too sugary for me. But they're crafted amazingly! read more

My father-in-law has been raving about how good Voodoo Doughnuts are since he had it for the first time in 2017. Now, I finally understand why--Voodoo Doughnuts are delicious. My wife and I shared the Mango Tango, Guava Colada, and the Key Line Crush doughnuts. I loved all of them. I wish I could live in an ocean filled with the jellies that are in these doughnuts so that I can simply open my mouth at anytime and enjoy the experience again and again. read more
No review is needed. The place is BOMB!! I was floored at how affordable the donuts are. $3.50 for some is incredible! I got a whole box of mixed donuts and obit spent $34 bucks. They even have a giant donut cake that is so clever!! read more

A must stop! Founded in Portland but going strong in Denver! One of the only late night sweet spots open in the city. Open till 3am and the donuts are fresh all night long! You really can't go wrong with what you pick but the mud (Oreo crusted) is my absolute favorite! read more

On a cold snowy morning nothing sounds better than a super sweet carb-loaded donut to accompany my black coffee. I took two dozen in to the office to share...they evaporated in no time. At 6:30am everyone is in line looking for cheap day-old leftovers. Not me, I want the fresh stuff please!! They have all sorts of crazy concoctions as well vegan options too. Everything that is currently made will be displayed on the big spinner up front. Of course it's a fun experience and a bit overwhelming trying to decide from 30-40 options but you gotta do the maple bar with bacon. They offer coffee too. I will say I've never been overly impressedwith their customer service. You gotta want some fun in a pink box and willing to wait in a line which sometimes goes out the door and down the sidewalk. Why 3 stars? Long lines and wait times. Donuts are ok. Customer service. Expensive. Two dozen donuts was $34. Yup, it's true. read more

Had to check out the hype. This place is a doughnut mecca that is open for all of your needs 24 hours a day. Parking is street parking, metered. I ordered the Voodoo Doll doughnut, because my thought was get the doughnut named after the place. It was good. I liked the experience. Would I go again if I happened upon this funky chain at a different locale? Maybe, but I didn't think the doughnuts were exceptional or anything that I would crave. read more

Everyone has strong opinions on Voodoo donuts. I'm on team -- it's good, but a little over hyped for what it is. They have a lot of fun and funky flavors which can make coming here an experience. It's a nice place to bring out of town visitors. Expect a serious sugar high though - even as someone with a huge sweet tooth, I think it should be toned down a bit to really hit the spot. Prices are also a little high - I think they vary based on if it's a speciality or not, the voodoo doll - their signature donut was just over $4 with tax. The donut is fun and has chocolate frosting and a jelly filling. One complaint I have about this one is the jelly is inconsistently filled more often than not - one side is gushing out and another side didn't get any jelly at all. Regardless, it's a fun spot to check out and I'm glad they found their way to Denver. read more
Amazing donuts. Heard so much Scott voodoo and stood up to the expectations and more. Fresh. Delicious goodness. I brought a box home to Chicago and was amused that I got stopped by people asking me where I got voodoo from between leaving voodoo going to Denver airport and arriving atat O'Hare in Chicago even the captain at our gate was asking where did I he get them. More important was the donuts where amazing. read more

I mean who doesn't love good doughnuts? Right! We all do! This place has such an enormous variety there is bound to be more than one to appeal to everyone! Doughnuts have become very trendy and stepped into a new level along with the favorite all time classics. I got some of both, that Memphis Mafia was the best thing ever and was the perfect combination of chocolate and peanut butter on top of a apple fritter. The apple fritters are not too heavy nor can you taste the grease like I can at other places. I must insist that anyone reading this review try at least three of these amazing creations! You won't regret it! Besides calories that are eaten from doughnuts don't count, right? read more

Go ahead and take a bite because this Portland Cream donut is filled with Bavarian cream and topped with a sweet chocolate glaze The perfect cream to dough ratio and sweetness amount. They had a variety of donuts including their famous Voodoo Doll donut! I will certainly get one again next time I am by a Voodoo Doughnut! read more

Being a HUGE donut connoisseur, I was so excited to finally try Voodoo Doughnut! I decided to go easy and just try 10 doughnuts and not a dozen... HAH. But anyways, the donuts I ordered (& their ratings) were: Vegan Dirt: 8/10 Vegan Raised Glazed: 8/10 Vegan Portland Cream: 7/10 Old Dirty Bastard: 8.5/10 Mango Tango: 9.5/10 Guava Colada: 8.5/10 Buttermilk Bar: 8/10 Apple Fritter: 10/10 Viscous Hibiscus: 8/10 Homer: 9/10 I don't think I've ever tried vegan donuts before but the ones from here were pretty good! I probably wouldn't have noticed the difference if I did a blind taste test. The Mango Tango was a fun flavor and I definitely recommend if you're a mango fan! My absolute favorite was the Apple Fritter. You can't go wrong with getting that. Overall, all the donuts were amazing. Freshly baked, with the perfect balance of air and fluffiness of the dough. Whichever flavor you end up ordering, Voodoo's won't disappoint! read more

Last time I had Voodoo Donuts was when in Austin and I was gravely disappointed. These donuts were so fresh. Absolutely scrumptious. We had the Apple fritter, banana cream pie, double chocolate, and ring of fire. All the donuts were super fresh; like fresh outta the oven. Would definitely come back. read more

Stopped here on our way out of Denver. I wanted to go here and it was a must see! Definitely a sight to see. The donuts were ok, not great. More concoction excitement than actual taste excitement. I had the banana chocolate. We went at 10am. No one else in line. I don't have to go back next time I'm in town. read more

First let me start by saying that anyone who knows me, knows that I don't really eat donuts...at ALL. I went to Voodoo Doughnut during my recent trip to Denver because my friend absolutely wanted to get some donuts. So I really went for moral support. The line was outside which made me think :"dang we will be here for a while and okay this place must be super popular". We stood in line probably 25 minutes which was not bad given the fact that the line was outside. I ended up ordering the bacon bar and another special of the day donut with french fries. Honestly I am not a donut person but the fact these 2 were savory made the difference. They both were very tasty and well balanced. The bacon bar was a bit on the sweeter side (duh donut) but the bacon made it super savory. The other donut (I can't remember what it was called) had caramel and chocolate sauce over the fries which made it really good as well. The Ol' dirty bastard was combination of oreo cookies and peanut butter. In conclusion, I am still not a donut person but Voodoo has some very interesting flavors and twists on donuts. Do yourself a favor and check it out if/ when you are in Denver. read more
We finally tried Voo Doo donuts and it did not disappoint! Waited in line for a while. Mask recommended but not required, 6 ft markers inside. It's pretty small inside with donuts displayed on a spinning rounder. There were so many choices! On top of the fancier donuts they also had basic choices like Apple fritters, chocolate, etc. we ordered a blueberry, maple cream (2), chocolate cream, and maple bacon. All of the donuts were tasty! The maple was not overly sweet and my son enjoyed eating the leftover maple bacon the next day. If you have one near you, try it. Very tasty, we love the Bavarian cream filled ones. Voodoo has some of the best vegan doughnuts I've ever had!!! I love the maple cream and my kids love the dirt flavor, which is basically a doughnut covered in oreo cookies. I usually order for pickup and my order is always ready on time. read more

Another hangover craving that I often indulge are donuts. Strange I know. Well as I tried to order from another spot and they cancelled my order I figured I would give voodoo a try again. Naturally I've had them on many occasions, I did live in Portland before here, and I do like their donuts but I guess I'm a creature of habit. I usually go into the store and always get the voodoo doll, which while it is delicious ( who would have thought to mix a chocolate donut with raspberry jelly..:genius) but it is rather sweet. Well today I decided to give some fo their other donuts a try: maple bar, chocolate old fashioned, horchata filled, grape, and white chocolate sprinkles. Man were these donuts fresh. OMG probably the freshest donuts I've had in a while!!! I like to cut off pieces of each and try them all. (I'm a weird donut eater lol) And after my tastes I thought the grape was unique but I wouldn't want the whole donut. Don't get me wrong it was good just not for me. The white chocolate sprinkles had a weird savory flavor too it. Not sure if that was because it was by the horchata? Though the horchata didn't have that savory flavor so I don't know. Horchata was good, covered in cinnamon sugar like a churro! I have to say though the traditional- chocolate old fashioned and maple bar were my faves. There's a reason they are classics! THE CRAVING It had been ages since my partner and I had had any doughnuts. Seeing many Yelpers post enticing photos from donut shops all over the nation, I got a craving as we left Denver for a looong drive back to Dallas. NOSTALGIA I asked my partner to check Yelp for a donut shop close to our route. He mentioned Voodoo Doughnut and said it was a little out of the way. I got so excited having visited the original Voodoo doughnuts in Portland more than 10 years ago! PARKING We located the shop on Colfax and lost time to parking. I verified with a Voodoo employee that there is no designated parking for this shop- even for its employees! Most nearby parking was metered, permit only, or taken on the Sunday afternoon we visited. FIRST IMPRESSION The exterior of the shop is pink and includes all the fun Voodoo designs/themes with images, names, and descriptions of the donuts for sale. Unfortunately, the same description is not available inside - making donut selection more mysterious. CUSTOMER SERVICE It took a while for a cashier to acknowledge and assist me despite there being ample staff and only one customer checking out in front of me. I didn't know if there was some other way I was supposed to make it known that I was prepared to order - apart from standing in line on one of the floor stickers (for social distancing). It was so strange to see so many staff and no one acknowledging me - the only in-store customer who wasn't being served. ORDERING The cashier was helpful. I felt bad for peppering her with questions about the donuts - not being a regular customer, wanting to nail my order, and not knowing what was inside - whether donuts were filled or not - which ones would have peanuts/peanut butter, and there being sooo many options to chose from. Donut/ingredient descriptions would have saved me there. With some Q&A, I ordered (7) donuts which cost about $19. FAVORITE DONUTS Favorites for me were the maple cream (Bavarian cream filling) and maple bacon. The maple was much richer and maple-y than most and the saltiness of the bacon and cool creaminess of the Bavarian cream were nice compliments to each donut. I was also impressed by how soft and light the blueberry cake donut was! For the parking situation, wait for counter assistance (even with little crowd), and lack of clear descriptions of donuts, I would likely chose another donut shop my next visit but this was definitely a nostalgic stop and the donuts were tasty. read more

Delicious! There is a great variety of unique donuts. It can get expensive, but the donuts are huge and worth it. The "Old Dirty Bastard", "Memphis Mafia", and "Raised Glazed" were my favorites. I would definitely recommend checking it out for a unique experience and tasty donuts. read more

This place was out of this WORLD. I was completely mesmerized by the pink interior and spinning cases filled with donuts on each side of the store. I felt like I was in a dream lol. The selection of vegan donuts were amazing, everything on the bottom rows of the donut towers. I got the Dirt, Dirty Bastard, & Glazed donuts, a total of 5 and paid maybe $12? I was actually shocked lol the quality of the donuts were insane. I love all things Oreo and these donuts did what needed to be done! I can't wait to visit this place every single time I touch foot in Denver because truly, this place is a gem. They are open super late, til 3 am. Perfect late night, munchie run. 5 out of 5 stars, hands down read more

Both, as well as fritters, crullers, etc, with dozens of flavors and daily specials to boot. Something for everyone!
How much does a dozen cost?
My dozen was over $22. Too much, but bring cash... they don't take cards, but they have an ATM that with the fees added will bring your dozen to closer to $30.
Do they have any gluten free donuts?
I went there and ask the staff. They do not. They have vegan but it has gluten in it.
What type of flour is the vegan donut made with?
It's the same flour as the regular doughnuts. What makes them vegan is they use applesauce or bananas in their recipes.
