Voodoo donuts is well known for their friendly, welcoming and hardworking staff and pillowy soft yeast donuts, crispy-cakey, light and airy cake donuts and a great selection of decadent flavors choices. We had a tough time narrowing down which donuts we were going to get but honestly really liked all of them. And as basic as this sounds, I loved the plain cake donut...it had a perfectly fried crispy exterior and a dense but airy interior that was exactly my kind of donut. The yeast donuts were springy and light and so fresh, really great. Happy that we took a little detour to stop by while in Denver! read more

Who knew that donuts could taste so good? And be so creative with their names... Who would've thought that bacon on a maple doughnut would taste delicious... And that purple grape ape tastes like grape and is delicious... I think my favorite is Captain, my captain... With Captain crunch cereal on it... I love this place so much and come here all the time! The people here are great and so are the donuts! They have such unique flavors and designs on their donuts. The selection they have is great to and have something for everyone as they even have vegan options for anyone in that sector. It's always clean inside and the staff is always fast and nice. The prices here are great too and they always come in a pink box if you get several! Parking can be a pain but it is worth it in my opinion. I love coming here and recommend it to anyone in the area to go and try them! read more

I heard so much about this Portland donut franchise and was very excited to try it. We got the maple, school daze, cinnamon honey glaze and mango tango. If you're into PB&J sandwiches HIGHLY recommend the School daze donut. I love how there's a large range of vegan donuts at voodoo too, much appreciated for a lactose intolerant person. This location is pretty small and there are no tables for sitting so keep that in mind when you stop by! read more

One of a kind donuts at 2 Denver locations. I haven't made it to South Broadway, as Colfax calls to me. Colfax is so unique and seemingly on the verge of being something else. Yet, it remains its own identity. So, the Colfax location is my go to - once or twice a year. I recently stopped in on my birthday and scored 3 donuts - one for Jamie, one for my son (it was also his birthday) and one for me. Choosing a donut at VooDoo is an adventure in itself. They are so creative. So, the donut for my son was a specialty donut - the ring of fire - a cinco de mayo special donut. It had a dried red chili poking out of it. The donut itself was a cake donut (delicious on its own) with a cinnamon, sugar light red chili finish. Well done. Not to spicy, sweet and tangy and a bit of spice. Then there was the dried chili. It was not clear he would eat it. He likes hot chilis. With a bit of encouragement he took a bite. WOW! Red eyes immediately! Sweaty forehead. Crying! Tongue on fire. It may have been the hottest chili he ever has had. Heat that lasted 10 + minutes! What a donut! Where else can you get a donut like that! Recommended! Even if you just window shop! read more

Voodoo Doughnut definitely satisfied the late night craving for something sweet. Esthetically, I found the shop to be just one small step above your classic mom & pop donut shop. Nothing overly special, but clean and filled with the smell of donuts. I had the cream-filled maple donut and my favorite, the sweet cream cannoli--I could have eaten a dozen of those. The sweet, custard-like filling was one of my favorite donut fillings ever. The hours also make this place special against a normal local donut shop. Had these yummies ordered and wow, they are so good! From the pink boxes to their specialty and unique flavors, I knew I had to order Voodoo Donuts once I arrived in Denver. I had their oreos and creme donut, vegan glaze, and sprinkle cake. Personally, we love oreos so this donut was def a hit. Their vegan glazed tasted exaclty like a regular and was still light and fluffy. We aren't much of a cake-donut type of person but we still tried and it was def a cake donut. lol. A fun place that you should go to at least once if you're living in or visiting Denver! They have a huge selection of donut options, some of which are massive, ranging from more basic flavors to ones covered in cookies or candy. It's a great place to go and try out new donut flavors. My favorites are the more basic ones like the old fashioned glazed, buttermilk bar, maple old fashioned, and blueberry cake. If you have kids or are more adventurous with your donuts than I am, you'll find endless menu options to choose from. The donuts taste fresh, and if you're in a hurry they have the option to order online and pickup from an online order line that moves much faster than the walk-in line. Some of the donuts have naughtier names, so as long as you won't get offended by that it's a fun place to go and grab donuts! read more

I wanted to check out Voodoo Doughnut last time J was in town and finally got to try it! I got the raspberry filled donut and a maple cream. Both were very sizable and fresh. The dough was soft and sweet. The raspberry filling was perfect! Sweet and tangy - truly paid respect to raspberries. The maple cream was also great, the filling was more of a boston crème texture than what I expected but it still worked out well! Loved these two flavors! Been wanting to go to the original location for some time now but all these chains have to do for now. Parking is not the greatest, street parking in front or side street or behind is a pay parking I believe. Anyways didn't want to get a whole dozen but did want to try a few. A little on the pricier side. The dew donuts I got were on the little crisp side of things. Lots of sugar and glaze. Overall experience was ok not wowed, was suppose to get a chocolate chili cake donut but somehow was Givin a cinnamon sugar instead, not a big deal. A colorful environment meets you at this classical fusion with unique. On the wall is a big poster board of all the donut choices. The donuts themselves are not really special. They are just well made, quality donuts with interesting names. I got the Oh Capt, My Captain which is a donut with Captain Crunch & Berries on it. The other was Grape Ape which is a donut with a grape frosting. They were both good, just nothing Earth Shattering. Overall for me it was a 4 star review. I see why they are popular. They are open very late. They are an above average donut. They are fairly priced ($2) and sized. The Unique flavors and names brings you in and maybe back to try the uniqueness. Staff were welcoming as always and the one star, is for the donut only. Went to try the fundraiser donut, Purple Lemon Haze. Whewwww....NOT good. The lemon filing is a whip type with too much in my bar. This lemon haze, needs to disappear and quickly. Probably should of been more of a lemon curd type filling. The purple frosting is horrible! Leaves an awful after taste. Uck! I had to rinse my mouth out. I will stick with the donut I only come there for, the maple bar. I did get a receipt and would ask for my money back, $4 plus. It's quiet with the wafting music from the neighboring brewery and I'm sure in the summer the gardens are beautiful. I really enjoyed this café and look forward to coming back in the summer.

This place operates as a cafe and light brunch place in the mornings, and a dim, moody vibe with a full bar in the evenings. All the workers here are really nice and approachable. When coming in, there are menus by the front door. When I went, it was around 11am on a Sunday, so it was pretty crowded. They have a food pop-up in the back patio that rotates between vendors, to my understanding. The back seating area is covered and has two space heaters nearby. Lots of fun things to choose from on the menu. I got an Irish Coffee, would highly recommend!

That evening, I was craving pho. Pho 92 came recommended and I was immediately drawn to the clear broth in the photos while researching Yelp for Vietnamese food. It was a Thursday evening when we arrived at Pho 92, and the restaurant was packed. It was loud, with staff bustling about and patrons enjoying their meals. The aroma of the pho broth was just as I had hoped for a busy restaurant. We waited approximately 10 min for a table. The staff were pretty efficient and looked to have a good system going for bussing tables. Hailing from CA, I am no stranger to good pho, and this place hit the spot. I'm so glad I decided to get the regular instead of the large, because wow those portion sizes were indeed huge. My husband made the "mistake" of ordering the combination vermicelli bowl, and it came packed with tender proteins and crispy egg rolls. That just meant for some delicious leftovers (that actually reheated perfectly). The pho broth was as clear as I had imagined from looking at other patrons' photos. It still had a good depth of flavor, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It had been a long travel day for us, so I didn't want oily soup. (Sometimes I do enjoy rich, oilier pho broth, but not that night.) The pho came with a plethora of herbs, which I of course used all of. Be warned that their chili oil is very spicy, which I accidentally put too much of without first trying (oops). I generally don't go to the same spot twice during a trip, as I enjoy trying out different local businesses, but Pho 92 would have been a spot I'd return to again if we had had the time and if I had wanted pho again. Their menu is huge, so there are plenty of dishes to choose from to satisfy your cravings, whatever those might be for any given day. We will definitely be back the next time we visit CO!

Our waiter was lost in the sauce and came by a total of twice - once to take drinks, and once to take our order. We had to flag him down to pay our bill. They no longer have the crab fried rice, but do have an imitation crab one. The photos from today look so different from before. It was damn near inedible and was actually gross. Our bill was over 100 bucks and it was so upsetting because the food was not worth it. The atmosphere is so chaotic and unfortunate. Definitely a miss.

So I've heard all the hype about Voodoo Doughnuts and was like, I'm sure they are like any other doughnut place in the area. My friend and I came here from a night out downtown (which we go downtown maybe once a month, we're total suburb people now gulp). Well we wanted something that had chocolate and cream which they had their own style of a Boston Cream with Bavarian cream, not sure what their version is called but you just point at the one you want in the case and it's like magic. Back to the doughnut, it was mind blowing. I got the vegan style just to try and my friend got the regular one. The vegan one was the kind of pastry that if you tapped it, it makes that little pastry hollow noise if you get what I mean, meaning it's going to be freaking delicious and it was. The first bite into it had chewy dough (I love chewy dough!) with a thick layer of chocolate.. and oh my goodness that Bavarian cream was freaking heaven in a tiny bite of goodness. Mind you this review is on this one doughnut that I had and it was just mind blowing. I will have to go back to try more but this place is a def stop now anytime we are downtown. Service was great and the employees are friendly... I bet they get a bunch of dumb people every late night and have to deal with it. With that, tip them. Mind you this place is open 24/7 so when you're on a night out downtown this is a nice desert place to end the night because not many places are open. If you are driving, parking is very very tight because it is technically downtown and the city is just too darn overcrowded. Although if you can find parking just go, you won't regret it! Oh yeah, this place is a cash only establishment so don't try to pay with a credit or debit card, cash money is what they take. This place rocks like a Jimmy page guitar solo. Everytime I go into Voodoo Donuts the people working there put me in a great mood. I usually walk in with a chip on my shoulder, but these guys are better than a PHD in psychotherapy. The last time I was in there, I bought a BUNCH of clothes from them and the dude behind the counter was like.... "Take your time...." As the rowdies came in from their perspective bars, or party spots, being loud and distracting. The guy was so friendly too, when I left it was raining extremely bad and it was late at night. I gathered my things after he rang them up and he said to me.... "Are you ready Freddie???" I laughed; that's all I needed to hear... I still remember his voice... I wish all the best for this place. Voodoo Donuts adds culture and flavor to a part of Denver that's going through a lot. A lot of change has happened on Colfax, but one thing I can count on is sugar overload and The El Diablo. Please never change! Thank you Voodoo, I'll be back and harass you guys soon.. They add sugar, spice and ambiance to Colfax, and these days that is in short supply on one of my favorite streets to haunt. This is probably the worst donut shop. We waited for 30 mins to go to the bathroom which is one person at a time. The manager with short hair ran into the bathroom even though we were waiting for the bathroom saying that 'oh this is open i want to go the bathroom' and just ran into the bathroom in front of us just because we didn't have the code to the bathroom. Fucking racist as fuck she refused to take our order and closed the line after we said that we were in the bathroom line and waiting for a long time. Never gonna ever come to this fucking place. Note to the manager: " learn to have manager skills. She is the worst racist manager ever. Her name is "Micah". She cant even defend herself that she behaved like a racist and when we pushed to talk to her she couldn't even respond. We talked to the other employee he admitted that it was his manager's fault even then he couldn't do anything coz he was just an employee. After a bad day my roommates and I thought it would be good to distract ourselves with a trip into Denver for a visit to VooDoo Doughnut. When we arrived around 3:45 the line was way out the door. We ended up waiting about an hour and fifteen minutes to order the dozen doughnuts we'd pick out to try. The wait just made finally getting our pink box more exciting. And while they definitely could have been speedier at the counter, VooDoo knows that there are people willing to wait and a line out the door is the best advertising they can get. The doughnuts went from not bad to amazing. The 12 doughnuts we tried were: the voodoo, maple bacon bar, Miami vice, blueberry cake, old dirty bastard, the cap'n crunch one, the cocoa puffs one, one covered in butterfingers, coconut, mango, blunt, and the McMinnville cream. We proceeded to cut each doughnut in fourths and try each one of the dozen. Our agreed favorite: maple bacon bar. With old dirty bastard mango and cap'n crunch coming close. We picked out special doughnuts so it was about $20, next time we'll try the voodoo dozen. read more

Is it a requirement of Hipster Culture that establishments ensure their own convenience to see how much baloney the public will swallow? Yeah, I went to Voodoo Donuts and instead of waiting, some friends came out with a couple dozen and offered me one. It was more than enough -- I imagine the gutters in that neighborhood are littered with half-eaten grease and sugar bombs. So I looked at their website: no prices, few pictures of the product, endless rambling about how unique and special they are, and notice that they are closed on Monday and Tuesday. I guess those are the days the staff rests and the business doesn't need revenue. I've read several reviews, and it appears that it takes longer to get donuts here than to get drinks at a packed bar anywhere else in Denver. Is that acceptable? We'll see if things change a little in a few months. read more

Everybody loves doughnuts. I know I do-oo-oo. Voodoo Doughnuts is great for all your doughnut needs! Want a cake donut? No problem! Want a yeast doughnut? They got those too! Want cereal on your doughnut? Well, I don't get it, but go nuts! Have a possession of your mortal enemy and need an emergency voodoo doll that happens to double as a doughnut in case your blood sugar gets low? They got those too! As a general rule, I dislike yeast doughnuts and much prefer cake (Yay, cake!). This place has got what are literally THE BEST™ yeast doughnuts I've ever had! If you've got strong objections to crude humor though, you may wish to avoid the place ("I got VD in Denver!"). Biggest problem is there seems to almost always be a huge line no matter when I stop by (but I've yet to try a 4 AM doughnut run there). read more

So I just want to say the doughnuts are very good.... but hot now Krispy Kreme is very good doughnut also. They aren't the most amazing doughnuts you will ever have but they are extremely fresh and very good. That being said they don't really have parking, so street is the only thing available and I feel like people may flock to this shop not because they want the most amazing doughnut because there are a lot of good options but because they want the experience.... the experience sucks. They make no effort to even be nice, only take cash and will give you no time to look over the doughnuts even when you have waited in a line for 25 mins. I say its overrated and a waste of time go to Winchell's because you will be left feeling like it was a waste of time. read more

I wanted to give it a single star because of all the hype, but I like to be honest about my reviews and not biased. The donuts were average. Very average. Average for being fresh baked. I love me some desserts be it ice cream or little donut mouthfuls, but I can't say Voodoo left me anything more than backed up. I ordered a dozen. Half cakes half yeast. I went though most of them in a single hour. A bit here, half a donut there. I couldn't figure out what all the hype was about. Now I have a dozen semi eaten donuts in a pretty punk box on the top of my trash. The good side... The service was awesome. The price great, and at the time I went there was no line. I'm in Denver 8 months out of the year and thought my partner and I would stop by and try it out. Doughnuts are pretty good, but it's the hype, fancy box, pink everything, odd toppings and creative shapes that bring people in the door. Their ATM does run out, so bring cash (around 30.00 for a box) and park and WALK. Wear your coat it does get cold standing in line to get in. Customer service is definitely lacking, but with hype like that you don't have to worry about the people who do get rubbed the wrong way by sullen attitudes and impatient people behind the counter. You might be better off going to another local shop if you're in a hurry or on a budget. read more

It's a long wait for some donuts but they're definitely worth it. I love the fruit loop donut the most but they're literally all awesome. There isn't much I can really critique on donuts, but they definitely took it to the next level and you can tell by the line out of the door all the time. The only downside is that you wait quite a bit to actually get to ordering your donuts but besides that everything's great! The donuts have always been fresh for me the past year or two that I've been coming and once you do actually get to the register they manage to check you outta there fairly quick. tl;dr, these donuts kick ass, you have to stop by! read more

Very excited that they offer every flavor in Vegan form! We bought a dozen and a few extras and we were pleased, they tasted like real donuts! The only reason I'm rating this a 3 and not a 4 is because there was no seating...almost felt like they were trying to shove you out the door with your donuts! Also the staff was very brief, no connection, etc. I understand that you want to work fast, but again that whole get you out the door vibe was very prominent. I'd go back if we are in the area, just because the donuts can be made vegan and that's rare to find with the flavor selections. read more

I had been to Voodoo Donuts in Portland, so when I learned one was opening in Denver I was very excited. After visiting, I must say the Denver location is MUCH nicer and cleaner. The staff is helpful, friendly, and fast. I had a custom message written on a donut for a friend's birthday and was pleased with the results. The donuts are always delicious and i highly recommend the maple bacon. Keep in mind, they only accept cash (they do have an ATM) and expect to wait in line for a bit! We hit up Voodoo Doughnut while visiting Denver. We're from Springfield, MO and have Hurts which is way better. The service was flat and not particularly friendly. There is a carousel of donuts with no names or flavors. We just pointed at what looked good and the non-friendly counter person picked one from the racks. No choosing your donut here. The donut I ordered was big, creamed filled, covered in chocolate frosting, and really yummy. Glad we stopped in to at least say we've had that experience. read more

I love their doughnuts, don't love the staff. The girl with the cheap piercings there is very rude for no reason at all. If retail has broken you that bad then you should probably quit and find something else to do far away from people or at least keep her in the back. I'll never go back there solely because of a bad interaction with this girl she initiated herself, she somehow managed to turn my peanut allergy into something totally embarrassing for me, again, for no reason at all. read more

Donuts are fantastic. Plenty of options to choose from, something for every taste. I'm not a huge sweets person in general, and the dough is perfect in the way it has buttery/semi savory notes to play off all those sweet toppings. You can see the dough being made as you're in the store, understandable why it tastes so fresh. Highlight was the staff working the counter. Nate was welcoming, kind, and efficient.
