LaMar's is LEGIT! Always been my favorite! I stopped in Tuesday 2/17 to grab two dozen donuts for one of my offices during a training that morning. The lady working the counter was a total gem. I wish I had caught her name! I had a special request for a few raspberry-filled donuts. I didn't see any in the case, but figured I'd ask. She told me they didn't have any made that day, then offered to run to the back and fill a couple for me. She even asked if I wanted them glazed or plain! I was shooketh! Such a great experience. Very good donuts! I got the soft yeast donuts: glazed chocolate icing, maple bar, cherry filled with white icing, and an apple fritter. All so soft and fresh! I also got am iced mocha coffee that was pretty dang tasty too! The 2 ladies working we're friendly and helpful as well! I have driven by LaMar's dozens of times. Finally after coming back from a hike in Golden I decided to stop by. Amazing selection of various basic, filled, and unique donuts. I agree that the pastry dough is top notch and that is super important. Donuts are great but not amazing. Loved the snicker John, the apple filled, and the Bavarian Cream. Help was great. Aint cheap 4 donuts $14 bucks...but they were all specialty donuts. read more

Lamar's makes the best old-fashioned donut in Denver. Hands down. A plain old-fashioned just has me so happy. It's dense and moist and soft and sweet and perfect in all the ways. Have driven by this place countless times in the past three years since moving to Denver. As I sit here at 4:30 pm eating a donut, I'm kicking myself for not stopping years ago as I savor donut-deliciousness. I really like donuts. Consider myself a donut purist. Glazed, old fashioned, choc or white iced. Maybe sprinkles if I'm feeling crazy. I do not like sickly sweet ones, can pass on bacon topping, and cannot stand those over-done & over-priced VooDoo donuts. I don't mind certain Duncan Donuts, but they can be cloyingly sweet. I'll take a freshly made KrispyKreme any day (can't pass up the blinking sign). Lamar's is a near perfect donut. Freshly made, not too sweet, no weird chemically or artificial taste like a grocery store donut. This is the real deal local donut shop. Assortment available at this time of day was limited, but still a pretty good selection. They have all the classic donuts and a few with fancier toppings. I had and old fashioned glazed and a chocolate iced. The old fashioned was REALLY good. I prefer them unglazed, but the glaze was excellent - not too sweet. The cake part had a really nice flavor- just barely sweet. The choc glazed was also excellent. Grabbed an extra one to go on the way out. Give LaMar's a try if you are looking for a really good donut. You will not be disappointed. read more

These are my favorite donuts. You could go to Voodoo Donut if that's your thing, but for me personally, I'm not really interested in eating a weird donut that tastes ok when it really shouldn't, like a chocolate bacon fat donut hole or something. If that's your thing, again good for you. But it's not what I'm into. LaMar's isn't that it's just really good, well-sized, well made donuts in a good variety. I so want to like LaMar's. I so want to support a local company. I have been a customer for 25 years. but today may be my last visit. $23.00 for 6 regular donuts is simply too much. if you're going to attempt to charge this then bring your A game. at this price your donuts should be the freshest, the glaze should be pristine, the jelly leveled up. but alas LaMars gives you at best a larger sized grocery store donut. I don't want this business to go under, but either make a gourmet amazing doubt and charge $3.49, or cut your donuts prices in half. the donut shop right down the street charges $1.79. my apologies for having to write this review. read more

I looked up their hours on the website, left work early, and drove 15 minutes to get donuts for my family for the morning. I was craving a donut and decided to check out LaMar's after perusing their menu online. The menu had a pretty vast selection of donuts, pastries, and drinks. I got there pretty early in the morning, so there was still a pretty decent selection of donuts available. My fiance asked for a bear claw, I got the raspberry filled Bizmark donut, and we split the Snickers donut. the cake portion of the donuts were fantastic, but we just weren't fans of the added sweetness of the extra icing. I don't think we expected the bear claw to have a thick brown icing on top, so it was a little overwhelming. The raspberry Bizmark contained lots of raspberry filling, which was great, but the thicker icing on top was a little much for us. The snickers donut was awesome - loved all the candy topping. As for coffee, I wish I would've ordered a regular iced coffee because the chai tea latte was also very sweet since it was mainly the chai tea liquid mix. If you're a big donut fun, you will love that Lamar's donuts are pretty huge. Really big portions, so you don't need too many donuts to be satisfied. We even split ours over two breakfasts. The staff were also friendly and helpful, and wore masks. All in all a good experience. If you have a big sweet tooth/love icing, you will definitely love Lamar's. I'd be down to go back to try some donuts with more of a glaze and to try the regular iced coffee. read more

The Maple iced donut was the best one I've ever had. The perfect balance of sweet, and a delicious soft donut. The added bonus that they make the donuts fresh every morning makes this place worth the trip. I came back today to get more Maple goodness, then saw the snickers bar. I got the snickers bar and since the others we filled I asked if the Snickers was. She told me, "no" but offered to fill it. Of course I opted to next level my Foodie Life by adding the Bavarian pudding filling...I may have jizzed in my pants! As a side note these Donuts are big AF!! Love it! Came here to get donuts for my office on national donut day, June 2. Because how could you not eat a donut on national donut day?! That would be a crime. While we were in line, LaMar's was handing out free fresh donuts to the folks in line. Woah. If you have never had a fresh warm donut you need this in your life. At least once. It was amazing. I have never had a donut this good before! Now I have been to this LaMar's before and the donuts were good, but never this good. I will preface this by saying I came later in the day, but these were some of the more disappointing doughnuts I have had. They were pretty stale & lacking in flavor. The shop itself seemed a bit unkept as well. There was only 1 lady working behind the counter when I was there so maybe that's why there wasn't much attention given to the state of the shop, but it def needed some. I personally don't think the reviews here reflect the quality of doughnut I received. I still expect good pastries even later into the day read more

What a great donut shop! I have come here once before awhile ago and today I decided to come back which I'm so glad I did! I needed to pick up some donuts for my employees and finding a place that can cater to all my staffs taste buds can be challenging however this place has so many options! I got two orders of the 'Manager Assortment' which comes with 6 classic and 6 specialty donuts which allowed us to try pretty much a lot of everything! All the donuts were delicious, soft, and fresh.
