So glad I stopped in this little donut shop. I dropped in for a breakfast burrito. The guy in line…read moreahead of me ordered with such confidence that I knew he was a regular so I ordered what he ordered: a bacon breakfast burrito and a croissant donut (listed as their most popular). The young man and the woman working there were friendly. They added a couple of donut holes to my bag which was a nice little treat while I waited for my burrito. You get a full breakfast with this burrito. It was packed with eggs, potato, bacon and cheese. The combined flavors were delicious together. Sometimes, I don't prefer bigger burritos because I might get a bite of only dry potato. This burrito was full of flavor with each bite. They give you a side of green salsa which I didn't try because it was at the bottom of the bag and I didn't know it was there. Next time I will add it! And, the croissant donut - YUM! It was light, fluffy, sprinkled with sugar to add a little sweetness. The layers of the croissant and airy glazed donut melt in your mouth. The parking situation can be a little tricky when visiting for the first time, but I found that there is also parking on the south side of the building.

There was a group of little girls ahead of me and she made sure each got exactly the donut requested while also giving them some donut holes. It seems to be a family operated business and if so, huge kudos to the kids for being so polite and professional on an early weekend. I'm from socal and in the 90's a lot of us helped our parents at their small businesses; this place gave me that wholesome vibe. I wish them much success.

The fruits sandwich made with shokupan bread was light and fresh, an excellent pick-me-up. This is a standard Japanese snack done beautifully. The mixed berries (a Danish made with croissant dough) was a delight in looks and taste. Neither item was excessively sweet. They were just right. The beef curry wrapped in dough, crusted in panko crumbs, and deep-fried was excellent. The curry itself had real flavor and zest, and the surrounding crust was delicious too. Not only a great accompaniment, but also a very cool way to eat curry with your bare hands. A very generous serving too. My brother got the most beautiful-looking chocolate croissant! And my son bought himself a chocolate cornet, which surprised me by being soft baked dough. Haven't tasted them, but I couldn't wait to post this review. I look forward to trying something with cream cheese or custard next time. Unfortunately they were out of the bacon epi, but that happens with bakeries. Good advice to call the day before if your heart is set on a particular item. We were just lucky to get the rest of the items on our list on a Saturday at lunchtime. My son had been to Japan about two years before and was suitably impressed with this bakery. I was very happy with what we got!

The place wasn't busy at all, maybe just 1 or 2 people coming in every 10 minutes on their way to work, which made it super easy to grab something quick without feeling rushed. I had the Earl Grey croissant, and honestly, I'd order it over and over again if I could. It was easily the highlight for me and paired perfectly with the iced matcha latte. The staff was friendly, quick, and welcoming. The shop itself is small, cute, and no frills in the best way. Simple, cozy, and exactly what you want for a casual coffee and pastry stop.

Suffice it to say, this place has ruined all other bakeries for us. The staff was extremely helpful in giving recommendations, and they did not disappoint. I got the cinnamon roll (of course), and a cheese danish, and my wife got their lemon & almond pastries. The price was extremely reasonable for what we were about to experience. Dear reader, these delectable delights were unlike anything we've ever tasted before. Perfectly buttery, flaky, warm, and full of flavor. It was all we could do not to make a scene at our table out of sheer culinary delight. We actually ended up going back to the counter for seconds. Now, days later, we're back in Michigan, sitting down with cinnamon rolls from our local bakery, and it's just... okay? "It's not Taste of Denmark..." I say, the light fading from my eyes. "Yeah..." my wife responds, despondent. So thank you, Taste of Denmark. You have set the bar too high, and now none shall ever compare. I hope you're happy. (We miss you, and promise to stop in every morning when we're back in Colorado)
