Great breakfast burritos. The only place for perfect unglazed old fashion donuts that I have found.

We found this place from reviews in Yelp and it's one of the closest donut shop from our location. It's an easy drive and not hard to find. The place is cozy and clean. They have a variety of donut selections, drinks and kolaches as well. The person that was there was very friendly and answered all our questions. Coming home and trying the donuts, they are very light and taste real good! We will surely comeback again to try other items in the menu! read more

Love this donut spot! This shop has the sweetest owner and she always connects with her customers. We stop at this shop at least once a month. We love having this shop in our neighborhood and love the many donut varieties they have in the shop. They also have great burritos and coffee. We love to take guests to this cute shop! We recommend the old fashion donuts or the croissant donut! So good! read more

Was wanting a donut, found The Donut here on yelp. We arrived around 11AM on a weekday. I ordered a cinnamon twist. The donut was very light and nicely done. It was the perfect texture and perfectly iced. The clerk was friendly, but was clearly not busy and kinda bored. The only thing that put me off was that all the class (windows, the case glass, etc) was all grungy. While it had been cleaned, with the Sun coming in the window, it was too obvious that the glass was just not clean. A bummer it would have made completely different impression if everything had been sparkling. read more

I saw a photo of an apple fritter from The Donut on a Westword posting. I just bought one today before closing. It is so delicious. The gal at the counter was so nice too. Try one of these out if you can. Hey, fruit (apples) is good for us, right?! read more

Amazing donuts!! Not overpriced like most donut chains. Place used to always be closed down with the previous ownership and every time I came donuts were always sold out :( However, with the new ownership I see more consistency and whenever I come I can get my donuts without worrying about shop being closed or having limited options. New owner is also very nice Definitely coming back more often. read more

We love The Donut! Always a great selection no matter the time of day, the food is very reasonably priced, and the service is truly what keeps us coming back. If you're looking for a little treat, look no further. read more

Just realized there is this great donut shop next to my dry cleaners (which is also great with a stellar seamstress). I stopped by to check out the selection and will no longer be able to bypass it. Beautiful choices and beyond friendly service. read more

Best donuts I've ever had. The pink sparkly donuts are my favorite. They don't taste artificial and are the perfect amount of frosting and sweetness. Chocolate covered was great. Cinnamon rolls are huge and equally delicious. Highly, highly recommend. Great staff. They go above and beyond to make sure you're well taken care of. Very generous. We will be back 1000%. read more

They have re opened as of Dec 4, 2024! Under new ownership...but still the same baker. Wide selection of donuts, brekkie burritos and coffee. Stopped in this week and chatted with delightful new owner Su. She is committed to carrying on The Donut's long legacy of great service and damn good donuts! The apple fritters are a must- huge! All the basics plus a few surprises.. Now we need to get Yelp to change this listing from "permanently closed" to "permanently open!"... read more

I was wanting to treat myself, and these donuts are the answer. I live in a senior and disabled apartment building and someone donated a large box of these donuts to us. I wish I had a bigger stomach, YUM! The donuts are fresh and light in crumb. The flavor selection is very creative. There's something for everyone. I'm so happy that I found my new go to donut shop! read more

These donuts are AH MAZING. The cronut is wonderful. We got probably 8-10 different ones and each one tasted great. We also chatted with the owner who was working and she is so cool. My fiance is a donut person and during our visit to the area, this was the 4th donut place we visited. Hands down it was the best. Even when the other places had top reviews, they paled in comparison. read more

I have lived in this area for 20 years. The newer owner of the donut, Sue, has made this donut shop easily the best donut shop south of Denver, based on tastiness, texture, and being perfectly but not overly sweet. The various lineup of cake, yeast,, creative, and speciality donuts are all second to none. It is on my list to try everything, and I have not been disappointed with anything here. Thank you Sue for taking over the donut and making it in A+ experience for me, my family, and my friends! Larry read more

The donuts and breakfast burritos are great and Sue the new owner is a sweetheart. Get in there to this donut shop!!!

Finally found this place open & glad I did. They have an incredible variety of donuts, all prepared by a French pastry chef and all delicious. Most amazing to me is that if you order a filled donut after choosing from many options they fill it on the spot. Never saw that before. Happy to reverse my initial review. Highly recommended. read more

This used to be my Donut spot....not anymore. New ownership changed the quality of the donuts and NEVER make enough donuts (3rd time going at 7:30am and 1 shelf of donuts). This is not an issue of demand...they just don't make enough and selection is lacking as well. Huge bummer. Don't waste your time coming here as you will too be disappointed. read more

OMG..........these are the best doughnuts I've ever had!!!!!!!!!! Absolutely fabulous AND incredible service with such amazing kindness!!! There will never be a doughnut for us from any other place!!!!!!!!! read more

The best donuts I have ever had.! Absolutely delicious. I was Greeted by the owners who were so generous in explaining and each donut and each of my picks tasted amazing. I used to sing the praises of this shop, the absolute best donuts I'd ever had without contest. Very disappointed that the quality has significantly dropped since new ownership has taken over. The old fashions are still alright (they used to be incredible), the cake donuts have become very doughy, and the last raised donut I had was basically unrecognizable (small, overcooked, dense). I don't think I'll be going back for a while. I really hope they're able to get back to the original recipes, I'm sure COVID has made this difficult. read more

Not sure if this place is permanently closed? Hasn't been open for a while despite the hours listed.

Oh my goodness, yum!! I came in a bit before they closed but they still had a few of the goodies left that I wanted to try. First time here, and it won't be my last! This little family owned business is amazing, the lady behind the counter was very sweet to my daughter and I while we took a moment to figure out what we wanted in our dozen. Not to mention how AMAZING their doughnuts are, they are so fluffy and soft, the flavor is THERE AND my kiddo devoured her doughnut in minutes. I also saw at checkout that they serve Santiago's burritos Tuesday- Saturday, what a perk! Give them a shot! You won't be disappointed! read more

Been to this donut shop many times over the past 5 years. I must say that since the ownership change we have since seen a significant decrease in the quality and selection of the donuts. Today hit rock bottom in my opinion. Arrived at 7:06am, earlier enough that you would believe everything would still be available. No chocolate bars filled with whip cream (the main reason we go), turns out they didn't make any today. So selected 8 other donuts, which all looks stale and old in the cases. Should have trusted my instincts and walked out after looking at the poor quality. However, was excited for donuts and proceeded. Turns out they tasted exactly like they looked- stale and not good in any sense. They looked days old and tasted the same. Likely done with this donut shop. read more

Man this donut shop used to be the best - I loved taking my kids and out of town visitors there - very welcoming environment and delicious donuts. Well, went there today for the first time in a while and everything has changed - the place has been completely re-modeled and no longer looks like a cozy family-owned joint - now it looks like like any other modern coffee house that can be found on every corner in downtown. Gone are the old tables that were so nostalgic and instead of smelling like donuts, it had that synthetic smell of an office. The selection of donuts has gone down considerably as has the taste - they were on par with what I can get at Safeway for considerably less money. Time to find a new donut shop. I don't understand why new owners are always tempted to change a proven formula - too bad. read more

I made an online order for pickup and when I arrived the place was closed and looked deserted. They still charged my card and I never received anything. No one ever contacted me to give me my money back and I'm waiting to hear back from someone. I hope I get my money back! read more

I purchased 6 donuts at 7:30 AM on a Saturday. I love donuts, but I rarely buy them since I know I will eat them like a mad woman! I wanted a treat for my husband and me, so I bit the bullet and went to The Donut. The woman behind the counter was quite friendly, so the service was great. I'm sure she had been working several hours before I arrived. Regarding the donuts themselves, they were dry and disappointing. Anything with chocolate on them had so little chocolate, I could see through it. I remember chocolate old fashioned donuts (my favorite type) used to be thick with chocolate. I ended up choosing only 1 chocolate donut out of 6. All were dry and crumbly. I wonder if I had come too late? Are donuts usually dry by 7:30 am? read more

Seriously delicious donuts. I'm (supposed to be) gluten free, so I get these for my husband, and he raves (and raves) about them. So about that being gluten-free thing? I snag as many bites as I can allow myself too. The fritters are ah-maz-ing, the chocolate glazed (a childhood favorite) is on point, and for not being a cake donut eater? These are the m-word good. Pretty good donut place. Different donuts to choose from and they even have the huge Texas sized ones. Only downside is it's very fast in there and you're expected to order quickly and can't really take your time. Almost got the vibe that the workers dread answering which donuts are which. Also quickly becomes busy there. Small place and not a lot of room. read more

Selection has gone down since new ownership took over. Place is dark and you can never tell if they are open. The customer service here is pretty bad. It friendly at all and a little bit of an attitude from the old guy working behind the counter. Used to be a neighborhood favorite and now I don't even try to go anymore.
