Our annual Denver donut stop led us to We Knead Donuts this year, and what a happy surprise! While you may see more than one, each is independently family owned and operated. The owner was on site today making breakfast sandwiches and burritos and his son was manning the donut counter and register. Both were so friendly and accommodating and when the son found out it was our first time, he generously shared some bite sized cronuts with us because that's one of their specialities. A great bite of fluffy, flaky and sweet croissant/donut hybrid. We also ordered a breakfast sandwich on one of their croissants... grilled to perfection with crispy edges and melty cheese, so buttery and delicious. They also have yeast and cake style donuts as well as cinnamon rolls, fritters, kolaches and donut holes. (We got there after a busy morning so go early if you want the full selection of options) Yeast donuts were so light, it was amazing how airy and fluffy they were, not overly sweet which I appreciated. My favorite was the cake donut, it was so light and buttery had that perfect "crispy" outside with a great chew inside. And this will sound weird but every bite was better and by the end it had an almost creaminess. I wished I had ordered more of those. Great place in a great location, within walking distance from me. They have your classic array of donuts, with a few special twists. I really like their Cronuts, especially on a breakfast sandwich. My go-to is the croissant breakfast sandwich--simple and so satisfying. Friendly folks too. read more

Love that this is a family owned restaurant! The owners son made some great recommendations for our first dozen here. These donuts are pillows of fried pieces of heaven. This is a welcoming place -- instant greeting by the staff as we entered made it fun. It's cute. Not a sit-down place, but that's okay. Wanted to try a new place for donuts to take to grandkids. Staff was so friendly in giving us their favorites -- the cronut (blend of donut and croissant) and others recommended -- we ended up with a dozen. They actually fill some of those with your choice of yummy treats right there next to the counter! I'd also read on Yelp about their breakfast burritos, so husband had to try one of those. Yummm. It was a donut adventure that was well worth the 20 minute drive to get there. And, spouse thought the breakfast burrito very good (high praise). Finally a local donut shop nearby and glad I made the stop. From first glances, the staff is really friendly and kind. It's a clean space with a nice variety of donut and breakfast sandwich options. Donuts can be pricey but I do like that they're chewy and soft. They're not too sweet or full of extras. The apple fritter was quite delicious. My favorite of everything I ordered were the croissant donut holes. They're flaky like croissants with a glazed coating. I love it in the donut hole form because they're small little bites in your mouth. They do offer customized donut orders as well if you need a little batch as a birthday treat. We stopped by this donut shop last weekend while running an errand in the same shopping center. The store front is cute, with sprinkle decals on the wall. The woman behind the counter was very nice. As for selection, they did not have a ton of options, because we went later in the day. We got a pink frosted donut, blueberry old fashioned, red velvet old fashioned, and a croissant donut. The red velvet was pretty good, the real winner was the croissant donut. It was so delicious and flaky. Will probably be back eventually. Worth checking out if you are in the area! read more

We've traveled all over the place and have tried our fair share of donut shops. We Knead Donuts is definitely our top choice. The sausage breakfast burrito is awesome, as well as their selection of donuts (go early for the best selection). The apple fritters and cronuts were especially tasty, but we also snatched up some warm glazed donuts that were melt in your mouth delicious. The customer service is top notch with friendly and generous efforts to meet the needs of their customers. The owner loves what he does and you can tell! Don't pass this beautiful business by. We stopped in on a Monday and they were closed, but the door just happened to be unlocked with the lights off (completely my own fault for not paying attention to the posted days/hours sign). The guy at the counter apologized for being closed and gave my kids a donut anyway. He was so welcoming and kind to us! We have been a few times and my kids LOVE their fun donuts (we have had ones that looks like characters, some with fun designs and candies, and of course their sprinkle donuts are always a hit). This location is under new ownership and unfortunately it's not a good thing. Here are the main things that went wrong with my recent visit. (There are others, but I'll extend some grace and not mention those.) Food: The old fashioned donuts were not dense on the inside and crunchy on the outside as old fashioned donuts should be. There were no cronuts less than half way through service time. Service: No cronuts? Fine. But then tell me to go with cronut holes and pay for them? Geez, so stingy! Who charges for donut holes anyway? Everyone knows those are donut shop giveaways! I can forgive subpar food but I can't forgive subpar service. Service is the heart of any business and poor service is not something that can be easily fixed. read more

The Donuts are so great we finally have a great local shop in the area! I got a mixed dozen and the quality and freshness of every donut was amazing. Even eating them the next day, they still were fresher and tastier than other places fresh!! If you love Apple Fritters this is the place to get them,flavorful and perfect size and soft. So many other places the fritters are so dry. Don't sleep on the Kolaches we had both kinds and were great. Again the freshness of the ingredients and being made in house makes the difference! The atmosphere is your normal shop. But this place is super clean. The main cook who helped me was super friendly and even went to get me the long John's I wanted from the back as they were just finishing cooking them. Keep it up guys. We did a surprise bag through Too Good To Go at the Auroa location. They claim they are day old but actually they were at least 2 days old and you didn't even do a dozen. An 8-count box of two day olds with a value of $18.00 is nothing but a RIP-OFF. I will go back to my standard shop and get a dozen of very fresh for the same price. I was willing to try a new place, but will never come back to you. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY FOLKS! read more

$2.19-2.29 for a raised donut that costs 80¢ across the parking lot at King Soopers. There's nothing special about these donuts at all and the "specialty" fried donuts were saturated with oil. Service was good. I got 1 dozen mixed (1/2 specialty and half raised/cake) donuts that tasted better, and weren't soaked in oil, at Mr. Donuts down the street two days ago for the same price as 7 raised donuts here. read more
