Criminally overpriced for what you get. Two coffees and two donuts came out to $26, which would already be hard to justify if the experience was exceptional, but it wasn't. The quality was not even that good, especially for the price. The donuts were average, the coffee was average, and nothing about the food or drinks matched the premium price point. To make it worse, the service was unfriendly and felt more like an inconvenience than customer service. For prices this high, I expected either exceptional quality, exceptional service, or both. I had the good fortune to pop in during National Donut Day (didn't know that was a thing? Me neither, but I'm glad I do now) and was treated to a free donut to celebrate. Great start to the visit! But free donut aside, the space was extremely clean, staff were polite and efficient, and the cases were well-stocked with a great variety of donuts. In addition to the free classic glazed donut, I picked up a sour cream old-fashioned and a maple glazed--my two faves--and was very pleased with how light and fresh both tasted (especially the sour cream OF, which can get heavy at some shops). I also appreciated that they had a sign on the door reading "Masks optional but highly recommended", and that the staff were masked. I know it's been a long slog through COVID precautions, and we've come a long way with vaccinations, but I'm still a fan of encouraging and modeling precautions until we get a little further down that road. However, whether or not we feel the same on that front, I'm sure we'll agree that these donuts are ace, so go get yourself some. read more

I've heard many people rave about the donuts here. Sadly after having visited the location off Lincoln, l have nothing to add. Our family *just* left this location at 1pm. Literally no one was there. No employees, no customers. Just a few cases with donuts. The door does have posted hours, and it says they close at 3. We hung out for a hot minute and decided to leave. Maybe someone was in the back? This place is always dependable and consistent with high quality donuts. All their standard are great, if you go big with the bear claw or twists those are good too. I'm excited to try one of the massive cinnamon rolls in the future. My only negative feedback is that their old fashioneds are "heavy". These are in my top three types of donut so the bar starts pretty high. I realized there is always plenty of oil trapped in these but I've had a couple from Lamars and find them to be heavier that most. I like it when you can easily peel back the petals. This has always been my all time favorite donut place. I lived in the Kansas City area for many years. I was pleasantly surprised there was one down the street from my hotel while I was visiting. The fact that this location always makes me a vanilla sprinkles when I ask for it and NEVER has an issue fresh dipping it if they sold out is just the best customer service. Ordered a donut ($4.25) and a flavored latte ($6.69) ad was confused when the young lady said my total was $14.19. When I inquired, she said it was because I added flavor. When I pointed to the menu, which very specifically said Large Latte $6.09 and Flavored Latte $6.69 she said she would ask her manager. If I was the manager, I would have come out and spoken to the customer myself. But instead she just said, "my manager said I have to charge you." I didn't want to make a deal out of it because she was a young worker, but after tasting how bad the latte was - I wish I would have just said never mind and left. We live up the street and come here at least 3-4 times a month. We were so sad to see the previous business go out of business during Covid but were really excited when we saw a LaMars would be opening! This location is the worst LaMars I have ever been to. This morning we finally decided we will no longer be giving them our business. The donuts (if there are even more than 10-20 for you to choose from...) are almost always stale, usually very obviously day old, and their filling is virtually nonexistent in their filled donuts. We will drive out of our way to go to many of the other local donut shops that are far far superior and an extra 5 min drive. I hope they see this review. Would love to see this location do well and would LOVE to know we can walk in the door and get a consistent great donut that a lot of other LaMars locations deliver on. read more

I came in after the morning rush, so honestly I figured the selection would be little and they would no longer be fresh, but thankfully I was wrong. The donut selection was great, and the maple glazed donut I had tasted like perfection. The coffee on the other hand was old and gross. I literally had 2 sips and I had to throw it away, I would have been better off getting it from the gas station next door. Next time I will get a soda with the donut. The younger gal that helped me was very friendly and helpful, but the thing that ruined the trip for me (worse than the coffee) was the demeanor and attitude of the manager working along side the employee. Great donuts but they sell out of the popular ones early so don't expect to have all the options if you show up after 9:00 or 10:00am. They have a nice selection of specialty donuts in addition to the standard ones. We particularly like the maple donuts, they're always soft, feel freshly made, and the maple doesn't seem super artificial like some other places we've tried. These guys are amazing! My nephew is in the hospital just came off a ventilator in ICU and the only thing he wanted to eat was donuts. We didn't realize they had closed before we got there and we showed up about 15 minutes after they closed. so we were standing in front googling where else we could go, their nice employees saw us at the door and hooked us up!
