Finally tried Monk & Mongoose yesterday. I would love to go back to check out more drinks to have a better sampling, especially the seasonal drinks, but I ordered an iced matcha tea. I like this coffee shop location due to its proximity to Sky Ridge - it was a nice break when waiting for my husband to get his appendix out :) It's on the louder side so even though I saw many people on their laptops, I personally would not enjoy working remotely or studying here. They have some tables outside, free wifi, and bathrooms shared with the building. The coffee they use for espresso drinks is not my favorite - too dark of a roast for me. The food is very good. We had the turkey sausage, egg, and cheese Sammie and the ham and cheese croissant. The croissant was light and flakey. The service was fairly quick given the long line of customers out to the door. This is a vibrant setting with great coffee and breakfast treats. I came here to try their Americano. The espresso was just fine since the fragrance and the flavor of the coffee beans were a little bland. Definitely not acidic comparing to some, so that's a plus. There are plenty of seats inside and outside, and they are dogs friendly. This is a good place to meet up with someone. It's not a place to work unless you sit ouside since it's super noisy inside! Although I don't know how this place is on a weekday. I was here on a Saturday morning. Overall, I may return to try their other drinks or plan on meeting up with someone. read more

This has become our preferred coffee shop now. I love the cosy/modern vibe and lately they have many more pastry options. The coffee and other beverages are good, I love their Matcha and the fact it's not sweetened. There's plenty of seating and when weather permits they have garage doors that can be opened and create a nice indoor/outdoor space. Owners, if you're reading this PLEASE add more power outlets. There are very few and mostly for the window counters. I love to work here and I often can't find a spot to plug in. The service is always nice and I like the loyalty system however it seems like the points add up very slowly. There's outdoors seating too which is great and we usually find a parking spot pretty easily on the street. read more

Our favorite go to coffee spot! They serve the best beans we've had yet called Sweet Bloom, a local roaster. There are tables both inside and outside during the warmer months. There is a couch and some cozy chairs with a fireplace as well. The staff is friendly. The drinks are really good. After stopping at various coffee shops on a Saturday, I finally settled on this one. This location isn't that far from the I-25 and Lincoln Street exit. I like the exact location. It's located on Ridgegate Gateway. There is parking on both sides of the street, in front of the business. They do not have a parking lot. Also, heads up when crossing the street. There are speeders who use this street to get to nearby businesses. I arrived here at about 2:00 PM and it wasn't that crowded. There was a line but I didn't need to wait too long. I liked the barista's energy and attitude who waited on me. I ordered a decaf Americano. They also offer two sizes of coffees; a 12 ounce and 16 ounce cup. They have an option to enjoy your beverage in a ceramic mug. However, you will need to ask for it. It was somewhat crowded. As expected, for a Saturday afternoon. I was surprised that their cozy sound area was fairly empty. There are beautiful views of the outside. I loved the cloud cover on this day. Perfect setting to start working on a novel such as a mystery or suspense genre. Decaf Americano was okay. They put four espresso shots in it. I felt that it was somewhat weak. I didn't finish it all. I dumped out about half of the cup. I will try their regular coffee some time. They offer a typical selection of coffees, teas and other non-alcoholic beverages. They have a nice display case of pastries to go well with a cup of coffee. I liked the ambiance here. Coffee shop was decorated nicely, loved the garage doors for opening on nice weather days, and it wasn't that noisy. I would definitely return here. I would love to try a regular coffee with a pastry. Check them out sometime! read more

I can see where this can be convenient for the residents that live in the building surrounding this place. But it was a little sub-par compared to other designer coffee places I've visited. I ordered my usual mocha and decided to try a scone and turkey sausage / scrambled-egg muffin. I found a table and realized my Verizon phone had barely 2 bars. I was certain they must have WiFi because I saw people tapping away on laptops. They had a Monk-Public WiFi and had the password on a chalkboard. I tried for a while to get it to accept the password. It never would connect. The sausage muffin was ugly, but tasted good. The scone was dry and crumbled a lot with each bite. The place was convenient enough to the nearby medical center, but next time I'm in the area looking for coffee I think I'll opt for the Starbucks located in the lower level of the Sky Ridge Medical Center. read more

Great place to get some work done. We tried the lavender matcha latte and cookie butter latte today and both were solid. Cookie butter tasted more like cinnamon, but regardless delicious. I have been here twice: Once on a weekday afternoon and once on a Sunday earlier morning. Service has been pleasant both times and offers such an inviting vibe. Even without the lavender it was still such an enjoyable drink for inviting the day. Would give this location a shot. It's in DTC so it feels a bit corporatey but don't let it deter you.
