This Vons near the Home Depot is spacious and beautifully laid out! It's clean and well organized! It has so much to offer including a Panda Express, Starbucks and postal annex - definitely one stop shopping! As amazed as we were by the surroundings, it was PEDRO at the deli counter who impressed me most! He was so personable and easy to talk to! I appreciate how he greeted me while assisting another guest assuring he would help me shortly. He was thorough in properly packaging the deli products, he sought my approval on thickness and every time PEDRO weighed the sliced meats, he got it right the first time! PEDRO has excellent customer service skills and he takes his job seriously - doing the best job he possibly can! Great job hiring great people! read more

I've been coming to this Vons since I was a kid. Over the years, it has been remodeled and it has definitely helped business. The new renovated market is HUGE! Huge selection of produce, large aisles, easily labeled, and it is always kept clean and organized. One major plus is the Wells Fargo bank inside! Although there is a Wells Fargo across the way in the crossroads center, it is pretty convenient! They include a florist, pharmacy, and even a Panda Express, if that's your kind of meal They also have a postal office where you can drop off your mail or send out packages I personally didn't use either service, but instead I used their fax machine (mine broke) for a cheap price of $0.20 I would say the produce is a bit pricey, I rather go to the farmers market or even whole foods considering prices are about the same, but prices are pretty average compared to most. Being a club member is DEFINITELY a benefit, I save anywhere from $5-$15 a visit being a club member! Totally worth it, and no fees to join! Went to get my butterball turkey on Sunday and the cashier asked if I had the Vons or for U app so I can get the turkey discount they were offering. She removed it from the transaction and asked me to go to customer service to be rung up since I was downloading the app. Once downloaded the girl at the customer service desk rang me up and scanned the app, she said it wasn't working. She called someone to find out why and they told her it's only on the frozen turkeys, not the fresh turkeys. The turkey we got said fresh but it was for sure frozen. You could hear the crackling of ice as I placed it on the counter. I asked why the cashier would be promoting this if it were not on the item I got? She clearly felt the turkey was frozen. I requested they give it to me at the discounted price since she was false advertising the promotion. The girl at customer service said she couldn't do that and said even a manger couldn't do it. It was pretty much a waste of my time downloading the app and sitting there arguing with her. This location has horrible customer service and they lie to your face even if they know they are wrong. They sold me a frozen turkey that said fresh and wouldn't give me the frozen turkey deal. Do better Vons! read more

"Supervisor"was very rude and unprofessional. For some reason he valued another customer's time more than my own when he was already in the middle of ringing me up. I had to stop there & wait for him to solve another customer's problem with half my stuff bagged and waiting to pay, even though there were other employees available to help nearby. The not so friendly neighborhood store. I was a regular once a week customer, but no more. Today was my last time. For the last 3 weeks I have only experience rudeness from cashiers and management. God forbid if you ask for a stock check. In one incident I was shopping for yogurt and every single one on the shelf was expired when I mentioned it to the stock person he just shrugged his shoulder and went on about his day.Today was the last straw when cashier Jasmin questioned my just 4u discount , she had me return the items instead of trying to help me figure out. This pharmacy is a NIGHTMARE! I have only NEGATIVE and UNPLEASANT experiences, but I kept using this pharmacy for Just4U. There have been always discrepancies with the pharmacists but after contacting Vons customer center and confirmed that the pharmacists were wrong, I went back to redeem my Just4U coupon. They still argued but at the end they agreed to issue a gift card. The pharmacy technician, Mimi, issued the card after making me wait so long but when I finally received, I didn't see the face value on the receipt. Mimi said, "it's right there. It's on the other side" but nowhere showed the value. I asked her to show me exactly where I should see it, but her reply was, "We activates all at once and keep them in a drawer, but it's been activated" and then she rudely told me, "I have another customers" and brushed me away. The next day I went to nearby Vons and tried to use the card. Well, I found out that the card doesn't have any value on it. Mimi gave me an "empty" gift card. What a FRAUD!! I called customer service again and this time the rep requested the Regional manager, Teresa, to contact me but it's been almost a week and no words from her either. read more

I'm a very loyal Vons customer--I live a couple blocks away from a popular Vons in the South Bay and am there 3-4 times a week. I stopped into this Vons today since I was in Torrance with an hour to spare before picking up my son. I was doing a "big shop" and had already used my Just4U app -- I was organized. First of all, it's like a sprawling suburb inside. If I thought my regular neighborhood Vons was large, this place dwarfs it. The employees were all very kind and helpful but by the time I left with my $150 worth of groceries, I was feeling extremely resentful for two reasons: 1) The layout is rude--we all know that supermarkets turn us into maze walkers, but the distance you have to travel to get from produce to the deli/bakery is like a football field away. If it were my nearest Vons, I'd boycott. 2) My checker was super chatty, which can be a bit annoying. Her sense of urgency was a 1--sweet but c'mon there's a line growing and you have no courtesy clerk helping you. Oh yes, where are the courtesy clerks? My Vons is well stocked with them, and it seemed like this Vons had 1. After bagging my XL grocery order and listening to the chatty checker asking me what I'm going to make with my Penne Pasta, I think I'll stay away from the Torrance Crossroads Vons forever. I see other Yelps stating similar critiques. Makes me thankful for the staffing at my Vons. read more

Your average neighborhood super market, for your everyday grocery needs, like milk, veggies, fruits, meats, cereals, etc. etc. But if it is spices or ethnic specific items you need... Vons has a pretty good spice section (expensive though), and international goodies. But...I have a tip to save you $$$. Case in point: If it is Asian spices you need, I suggest that you go to Asian markets and get them cheaper and with more quantity. For example, I needed a few Indian spices for my curry, I went to both Vons and Indian Spice Land (on Crenshaw near Lomita) and compared prices, dude, Indian Spice Land was much much much cheaper. I usually prefer to shop at Ralph's but the Ralph's around here are too small and Vons is really close to my house. I think that overall the selection of produce and other products could be better. I also feel like prices are high. I love that there is a Starbucks in the store. However, whoever ordered the grocery carts must not have kids. The drink holders are in the area of the cart where babies/toddlers sit. So if I try to place my Starbucks in the cup holder, my toddler ends up throwing the drink across the store. I know it seems like a minor issue but when I shop here at least once a week and I want Starbucks, it can drive me crazy. It's hard to navigate pushing the shopping cart with one hand while trying to hold my drink in the other. I've seen carts with the drink holders hooked to the basket part which would work out much better! Another quirk is that the floors slant. If you let go of the cart in certain areas, it'll slide away from you. This isn't a big deal, just something that always makes me laugh. This Vons does have a pretty good health food/gluten free section. Also the lines are usually pretty short. The store is clean and I've had some really helpful employees, as well as a few who aren't as helpful. There is a really nice man who is usually stocking produce. I used to like to shop at Vons, but the quality has gone to hell. In the cheese section I was looking at Knudsen fat free sour cream, the used by date was 3/17; today is 3/26 why isn't product checked weekly and removed? I bought hamburger there and the next day it was brown, took it back and the butcher said ..ooh that's ok..he's full of shit, he can eat it! I buy hamburger from Ralphs and Walmart and it stays fresh looking until I use it up to a week. Also I like to buy there French baguette, but every time I go there in the after noon to buy it there is never a fresh or soft baguette. I work hard for my money and expect to get quality food when I go to the store.. The shopper should be number one! Vons, this location is ok. This location used to be Smith's. The supermarket that was a one stop location that had a video rental store and fast food and more. It still has the fast food, bank, cleaners, beauty salon, and such without the video rental (RIP VHS). Where back in the day me and my bud would talk about Smith's and Meyers (back east) where it seemed cool that these supermarkets had barbershops and such. This location used to be a lot brighter inside (if I remember correctly) before the remodel and now it is dim inside. That is my only gripe that it seems dim inside. But not as dim as the haunted house at Disneyland. This place doesn't leave anything out. So you can find anything that you need to cook or whatnot. There is also a self check out and your typical regular checkout stand with candy, soda, and tabloids as they try to get your attention and spend even more money. I went to this vons on Crenshaw and Lomita in the city of Torrance April 5th but what a mistake worst grocery store I have seen during this pandemic, first the line wasn't moving for a long time even after many people came out of the store , second not only most of their shelves were empty not their fault but they have the rudest employees I have seen , since grocery stores will not let you take your bags inside and I walk with a cane and it is hard to go back and forth to my car I didn't bring my bags with me , when I got to the self service check out to buy my items I didn't see any bags so I thought they ran out of bags , so after paying I left with the cart to go out to my car , at the exit the cart locked the young man there called the guy watching the self service line to come unlock the cart he said no she can't take the cart although earlier I saw other people were going out with their shopping carts but they had vons bags so I understood that I had to tell them I needed bags and I should have bought them at the self service check out so they let me go out, Since I have many bags in my car , I told the young man I will go get my bags and will leave the cart by the exit door on the side , he said when you come back you have to go back to the line to get back inside and the lady who was cleaning the baskets told me you cannot take those either so I had no other choice with my cane in one hand I picked up my groceries and left luckily not too many items but not easy to walk with hand full of groceries and a cane , in other stores like Trader Joe's not only they give out bags they even help people to their cars if they need help , I will never go back to this Vons read more

Very clean and upscale. The location is incredibly convenient (I can get tools from Home Depot, then grab some essintials for the kitchen). I'm not a huge fan of Panda Express and I only buy Starbucks coffee beans, so I wouldn't know about all the extra stores they have packed into it. Frankly, they worry me. On the other hand, the flower arrangement selection is always lovely to browse before grabbing a cart. Their soups WERE great, until they started stocking all of the gross and/or cheese heavy flavors. The potato and bacon soup was disgusting, as was the creamy cheese and broccoli, and the potato and leek soup (how do you screw that up, honestly). The Asian chicken noodle soup was refreshingly spicy and nice, but they've either discontinued that flavor or just stopped stocking it. I'd recommend the Minestrone. Also, don't expect any fresh bread on sundays. The addition of organic foods and a large nut and grain selection is what makes me come back. The couscous I bought was amazing. read more

This place has more variety than Trader Joe's. The club discounts are pretty great. Customer service has ranged from good to great every time I've been there. I took away one star because the ground beef patties that I bought (2 in one pack for $3.71) are almost inedible. I don't know what they mixed in with the ground beef, but maybe they used too much. Perhaps they ground in all of the worst cuts; I'm not sure. I split one raw patty in half using scissors because the spatula that I usually use to split ground beef couldn't get through it. After cooking it to medium, I chewed and chewed one bite for a good minute or so until it had the consistency of thick rubber before spitting it out. (I'm in my 20's and have all of my teeth, by the way.) Von's, please fix your ground beef patties. The chicken's been great, though. read more

this is a great place to shop. they just finished a remodel and the place is nice. they offer a $tarbucks inside, panda, some other drink shop. Best of all a Wells Fargo bank. We love the new deli ( great chicken salad ) bakery, and meat section is great. I have not used, but they also have a pharmacy, public rest room, and a cool area that has organic items. My fav is the fresh peanut butter section, that has many different kinds of nuts you can make butter from. A good wine section as well as beer and hard liquor section. A good fish section that i have not used, yet. Big parking lot and right next to this vons is a Claim Jumper, Home Depot, In n Out burger, and lots of other small food and shops right in the same lot. I went to Vons yesterday afternoon to get cornish hens on sale for $5. I picked up two packages for my family, and two for my parents. I went to the line to pay for the items. I told the cashier that it was two separate orders since I was shopping for my elderly parents (in their 80s). He said that was ok as long as I have the Vons app for my parents which I do. However, another cashier (Antoinette) told him that I cannot do that. I asked why and she said that it was limited to 2 per person which I said it is. Two for me and two for my parents' account. He told me that it was fine with him, but now since she went and told the manager he cannot ring up the transaction. Now I would have to go to see the manager at the service desk. I went to the service desk and the manager is Nancy. She was rude and had an attitude and told me that I cannot purchase the cornish hens for my parents and that they have to come in to get it themselves. I told her that I am their caregiver and have been shopping for them since the pandemic started in 2020. She rudely said it doesn't matter, and refused. I asked to see Nasser the supervisor and she told me that he left already. After going back and forth with her she finally told me that she will let me do it this one time and that from now on that they need to come in to shop. This is a lie because I saw several Caucasian ladies in line buying four packages without any problem. In fact as I was walking out of the store a white gentleman told me that he saw what happened to me and it's not right because he also had just purchased four packages, two for him and two for his neighbor without any problems. I think that I was singled out because Antoinette and Nancy the middle age manager are prejudiced toward me because I am Asian. They humiliated and embarrassed me in front of everyone over a $10 purchase of cornish hens when the freezer was full of cornish hens in the meat department. I felt like this was because I am Asian. All the other customers that I saw purchasing four packages of hens were white. This is unacceptable discrimination from Vons' employees. If there is such a policy then it must be applied consistently to everyone, not just Asian customers like me. On top of being rude and condescending to me, they were prejudiced. Vons is a large company and needs to train their employees better in their manners and policies, as discrimination against a race in providing a service is against the law. read more

This place is great.....for funerals. That's the ambiance this place puts out. The lighting is dim and it has just a downright depressing atmosphere. It even seems like most of the employees hate working here. This is the nearest supermarket to me but I usually avoid going here because the customer service and atmosphere are so bad. I recently stopped in to buy groceries. The check out clerk had a lousy attitude and acted like she was going out of her way to ring us up. Her shitty attitude coupled with the morgue like feeling I get when I go in here will guarantee I'll drive further down the road to buy groceries. do not use the curbside pick up! when i ordered on line, they subsituted half of my order even though i didn't check "substitute items ok". i had them come back out and return the items to the store that i didn't order and was told the manager would call me about my credit. i hadn't received my phone call, so called the store and the manager is gone. i was told that there was nobody in the store that could issue my credit. what???? they also charged me for 5 bags, which i only got 3 and they took one back with my returned groceries. no credit on my items that they took back into the store, no phone call about the credit, and was overcharged for bags that i didn't get!!!!! no management on site after 12:30 pm. do not use this store!!!! poor management and terrible curbside ordering when they just choose items for you that wasn't ordered on line. read more

This Vons location has poor customer service. There is a special price on some no name brand frozen turkey for 47 cents a pound as long as you spend 25 dollars minimum. Well, they are out of this turkey. The meat dept. person says to get rain check. I go to the check out line and the supervisor says there are no rain checks and they will get more tomorrow. Had the worst experience at this store. My mom is a Dasher and I usually help her out. This time we were doing an alcohol order at Vons. Since I am 20, underaged, I had my mom accompany me. My mom showed her ID and I was going to do the whole pin pad process because I was holding the phone and we had to input the numbers Doordash was telling me to, I didn't really think about it. The cashier told me I couldn't do the transaction because I wasn't 21, which of course I understood and I told my mom to do it instead. Since she doesn't speak English, I was translating what it said on Doordash to do, as to which the cashier begins to tell us that I can't help her because I'm underaged. At this point I started becoming frustrated but I kept my cool since she was correct that I am underaged. After my mom was done inputting the numbers, I asked her if she could remove the sales tax since I had noticed she didn't remove it and my mom couldn't tell her due to the language barrier, which was required by Doordash. She begins to tell me that she is unsure if they take off the taxes for alcohol orders and she goes on to ask for assistance by another colleague. The other colleague said she was also unsure so I chime in and saying we have done several of these orders before and usually if the Doordash app tells us to ask to take them off, we have to let them know. Thats when the cashier began to be rude and proceeded to tell me that "just because it says on the app doesn't mean it's the truth" and that "I can't chime in because I'm not part of the transaction." My mom and I started getting frustrated. However the cherry on top was when the cashier asked if we wanted a bag and I responded with yes and she again started to begin with the same tangent, that I can't be involved in the transaction. It honestly seemed like she was finding anything to scold me. I understand that I'm underaged, I can't purchase it. However being rude to me and excusing her behavior with "it's against the law, I can go to jail." is so demeaning. I was cooperating with her, my mom had told her that she'll do the transaction, and the cashier kept repeatedly finding new problems to scold me over and over again that I couldn't be in the transaction. I'm under 21 and it's illegal to buy alcohol, however it's not illegal to translate and help my mom and it doesn't give the cashier the right to disrespect me and belittle me. She was out of line and then became surprised when my mom and I left angry. Do better. read more

I don't live in the area but on Friday July 2nd I was in the area to see some friends and thought to stop by Vons and get some flowers and bake goods for my friends to enjoy, well I was really disappointed to walk in and as I was looking around I heard a loud voice from behind me of a male it grab my attention cause he has an accent maybe Irish or European not sure, I thought, omg this guy is crazy yelling at his wife or girlfriend in the supermarket, but to my surprise when I turned around, it was two Vons employees and from the looks of it the guy sounded like he was a manager? or supervisor? and the poor girl OMG I thought WTF I would of slap him by now, he was really rude and I couldn't understand it well cause of his accent but he said it loud enough to hear when he told the girl "YOU WORK FOR ME NOW!!" and the girl just burst out crying,,, the guy was so unprofessional, I waited to find out if the girl was ok, but she must of felt like the whole store was staring cause she ran towards the back so I do hope she is ok.. this is so wrong in so many levels, I can not start to understand how VONS can have a manager or supervisor with that kind of attitude and way of working it just gives VONS A bad name and reputation.
