I went into the deli to get some lunch meat and this nice young man named Sonny was very helpful in suggesting a nice horseradish cheese to compliment the roast beef I purchased. I'll be back for more. read more

I forgot to slide my club card and my cashier, Jorge, noticed it after I had paid. He reimbursed me in cash and saved me over $6. It was something that he could have ignored and not gone to the trouble of the reimbursement. I am thankful and very impressed with Jorge's honestly and ethics! Thank you Jorge! read more

Stopped here for some fresh milk best market around this part of town. Always clean and so kind.

Love this Vons, Close to my house. The staff is friendly and helpful. The store has everything we need mostly and love the $5 Fridays!!!

I just switched over to vons from going to target. They have a way better organic food and produce selection as well as all the basic necessities. I love the car shopping carts they have for toddlers and young children. It helps to keep my daughter entertained. I've also noticed how friendly there employees are. How they always ask to help you to the car, they take your cart for you and put it away etc. great customer service read more

This is actually a low-end 4.5 star review. Here 4 days a week minimum due to convenience, mostly taking advantage of the Starbucks kiosk, but also for those small, routine purchases. I come in often enough to notice when people are having a rough day, and it seems like the rough days are more frequent. Cashiers and Deli department seem to be the most frustrated, yet they've never taken it out on me, which is appreciated.Anytime I have asked for help, it's been given readily and with a tired smile, so maybe it's just the long hours. The wait time at check out has increased a bit, as the store seems to be understaffed checker wise at key times (early morning before work, dinner rush), and there seems to be a lot more trash flying around the parking lot. I miss the old Starbucks crew very much (Cara, Jessica, Jon, Simon, Stephanie) but the new guys are getting much better (working on the names, sorry guys). They're working well under the pressure of learning the kiosk and a whole new crew at the same time. All in all, not a bad place to shop - parking lot could be cleaner, have more experienced checkers at peak hours, people are more friendly than not but give the impression that they need more help. read more

I would like to think Aurora for her kind and patient service in helping me with my just for you app. She was really great. People like her is why I shop here. read more

Be prepared to wait a long long time. They need to hire more people and the ones who are working here need a lot of retraining. The tech at the register, when the customer needs to speak to the pharmacist will stand there picking their nose (figuratively speaking) while waiting for the conversation to be done, instead of getting on to the other register and ringing up the next customer. If I ran my business this way, I would be broke in a week. Very poor business skills. Unless you have a lot of time to kill, go else where. read more

Cashiers here used to be a better service store or at least better than others, but I guess all Vons stores should be the same under the same training. read more

The Vons at Cochran is undergoing major remodeling. If you live in Simi Valley, it will look like the one on LA Ave or very similar to the Pavillions on Alamo. Remodling began in August and is scheduled to complete in November. The store is dusty and disorganized but you can see how it is progressing. read more

I have experienced a heck of a lot better grocery shopping than this place. Every single time I shop there, no matter what time of day it is. There is always only one lane open... the express lane... which is a complete oxymoron. read more

This 5 stars is for the pharmacy at first I was having some trouble getting my dad's medication because they transfer from the other vons (hagens)after and then they close the store , and they didn't have the files so I ask to transfer to a CVS but I was worse, so then I go back to vons cuz on either one were giving me the medication and this beautiful lady the one in charge she makes it easier for me and she gave me everything for my Dad and also give me a gift card for the inconvenience. I don't remember her full name right now but I'm pretty sure her name it's Hala Morsi. She's very professional very nice excellent customer service, and since then all the others employees they all are very nice too. But others employees from the store not so good I saw the other time 1 of them instead pick up something from the floor he just kick it far so it's not in his way. read more

My first time into this store, I was pleasantly surprised when I asked where things were and the employee stopped what he was doing and immediately took me to my item. He then asked about my other items and took me to each. I am not handicapped and was not in a hurry, no see through blouse, just an every day shopper.. Way to go Vons read more

I read a FB comment from a friend that her husband bought a her a gift card for valentines day and she went to use it it was declined. Her husband went to the Simi Valley location to tell them and they called the Cops on him as if he was a criminal. I was appalled and worried as I also bought a gift card for my husband on valentines day. I opened The card and called Visa and was told there was no balance. You could tell upon opening the card that it had another barcode over the actual card. I also went to the Vons on Erringer and Cochran and tried to tell them what happened and this Is the second complaint. I asked them to take the cards down and if they would refund or credit me. The Manager went into the back room and called the cops on me saying I was attempting to use a fraudulent gift card. This was a humiliating experience for me as a loyal long time customer and mother to be treated so horribly. You have an obligation to take care of your customers and protect them. I will NEVER shop there again and have asked everyone in my neighborhood to do the same. Your ownership to solve this situation is despicable. After posting on FB I have found others that this has happened to. I hope the word gets out and you take pains to protect your customers!!! read more

I go to this grocery store a lot, mostly because its conveniently located right down the road from where I live. Recently I brought my service dog in with me to grab some cold medicine and I was rudely interrupted by a lady named Jackie. She was standing at the cashier desk and saw me walking towards the pharmacy area. She started shouting across the store, causing a scene, asking me if my dog was a service dog. I said yes and she sarcastically asked if I had any proof. I told her that I had his documents saved on my phone and began to show her and then she rudely walked away, saying she had a customer she had to check out. I went and got the medicine and sure enough her line was open so she checked me out. She continued being rude by saying that I should not come in without a tag and she continued to give me dirty looks while talking to me in a unbelievably rude tone. You can go here for groceries but stay away from Jackie, look for Lisa if you need any help, she's great. As for me, I'm a Trader Joes fan now, only using Vons for their redbox. read more

Well I was thinking to myself today, I can't believe I got some great deals at Von's. The reason for this review is because I've been pigging out lately eating whatever I wanted. I than realized that I need to discipline myself before it's too late and gain a lot of weight! So I set off to Von's to try and find some healthy food. I actually haven't been to Von's in awhile and was pleasantly surprised that they had a great variety of healthy low calorie meals. What was more surprising good prices! For $2.50 a piece I got 4 different variety of package salads. They were all good! Not like in the past with terrible salad dressing etc. I got the Safeway farms brand chopped kale salad 2 varieties. Along with organic packaged beets and Von's own variety of frozen dinners. They have low carb Gluten free kinds etc. I still have to test them out I only tried one that was the pot pie low carb one which was ok. I prefer Weight Watchers Smart ones The Santa Fe Rice & Beans is excellent for 300 calories. I cheated and actually bought that one at Target for $1.98. So for less than $5 I had a dinner that was fast cheap and tasted good. More importantly I didn't feel deprived!! read more

This Vons is one of the worst Vons I have been to. Poor management for not having enough staff on a weekend. It's ok I have nothing better to do than stand in line for 20 minutes because there were not enough checkers! read more

I have been a loyal Vons customer for years This weekend I bought a package of seasoned chicken thighs. When I went to cook it they had actually packaged wings and labelled them as thighs! RIPOFF! I tried to complete the online complaint form but no matter how I entered the dates it didn't accept them and of course they just show a red exclamation point and don't tell you what format they want. Think I may be done with all Vons-not just this one read more

Aurora B. and Justin are also great! Love coming to this location because the employees here are so welcoming!

The store is OK but don't buy the Central West Strawberries. They put good and bad together and you don't know it until you get home. I ended up with half a basket. read more

They changed the whole store everything is fucked up , watch out Stater Bros is in town

Shop here a lot and generally like the store because it's convenient. What I don't like is being asked to donate at the register and at the exit. There is almost always a guy or two in a white coat representing some unknown church or mission. I can't tell the name of it because they seem to try to hide it. Also, the prices have been off at least twice at the register from what they were marked as. read more

The customer service is okay. The cashiers can tend to be a little nosy, but I guess that's their job. I got what I came for and some.

I tried the delivery service and was scheduled for a delivery the day before Thanksgiving (most of it was for my Thanksgiving meal). The day of delivery, Vons Delivery called mid-morning and said they were experiencing computer issues and wouldn't be able to deliver until around 4 or 5 pm that afternoon. That wasn't acceptable since I needed to start cooking much sooner than that! So I cancelled the order and went grocery shopping myself - a slice of time taken that I couldn't afford. So Vons sends me a promo code for $50 off my next delivery. That's cool! So I place another order a week later, which was yesterday. Delivery is scheduled for 11 am - 1 pm today. However around 5 am this morning I remembered I forgot a very important item. So I tried going back into my online order to amend it, but it wouldn't let me. Around 8:15 am, I tried calling their customer service (they didn't open till 8 am), and was on hold for 25 mins before someone answered. I asked if I could add one item, and was told I couldn't since the cut off was 8:30 am. I told her I called at 8:15 but was on hold. She said it had to be done online. I said I tried to make the change at 5 am, but the system wouldn't allow me. All she could say is, "I'm sorry, we can't change the order, it's too late." No 'going the extra mile' or anything - just "No." Okay, so I hang up and (like the first time), I have to make another trip to the store. As I'm getting ready to go, I get a fraud alert on my phone from my bank asking if I authorized a charge from Vons. Turns out, the charge was $100 MORE than the groceries I purchased!! Fraud or a mistake?! And of course, this happens, to this particular account in which I keep little money. So now I am faced with an overdrawn account and extra charges!! (I am always meticulous and careful about my accounts.) So now I'm on hold AGAIN with Vons for the past 30 mins (still no one has answered) to get this cleared up. NEVER AGAIN WILL I EVER USE VONS DELIVERY SERVICE, and am considering not ever in-store shopping with them again, if this is how they treat customers. I'm really mad. read more

Hello, I consider myself to be an expert (amateur) shopper. Not only do I shop out of neccessity but I enjoy shopping as a hobby.I am a former retail merchant who loves the Retail business in General.I have a group of friends who do the same. With that said,I have recently had the privilege of late night grocery shopping at the Vons in Simi Valley,CA. on the corner of Sycamore St. and L.A. Ave. I have encountered nothing but exceptional customer service and have never been made to feel like a nuisance or hurried out before closing. The night crew stocking clerks are eager and double as customer service reps for Vons, often walking me directly to the product I am looking for.The clerks are true Grocers, not just robotic laborers punching a clock. You really get the feel of a team of workers who are more like a family of dedicated people.Team players, who I believe help make my neighborhood a nice place to live.If Ibmay make a small suggestion of improvement may it be this...I've noticed an abundance of "Discount Closeout" displays riddled throughout the store with heaping piles of often ripped-through merchandise that is no more likely to sell at $10.99 than it was at $11.49.Therefore it piles up and the store can begin to feel like a mis-mananaged thrift sale.It creates chaos and resentment by the customers who shop for values." Fast nickel, slow dime".Also,it would be a fantastic Vons Gas Super Store location much like your Oakhurst,CA. location.Thank You read more

This is the worst store I have ever been to. The cashier was so rude, it was almost like he was doing me a favor. What is wrong with this place? I`m avoiding it by all costs, the problem is that I live near this place, but I`d rather drive to any place else. I really hope they close down! read more

RUDE, RUDE, RUDE customer service ever! Since I live across the street from this Vons, I come here every Sunday to get flowers for my son. Today, when I was walking to the line to pay, I heard a loud yell from one of the cashiers. It turned out a young teenager was shoplifting. All 3 of the present cashiers stopped working their line and started to pay all of their attention toward the teenager. I was already late and feared that the cemetery would close. This incident delayed me even more. The cashier of my line kept talking to another cashier about the teen. I waited for a good 10 minutes and politely asked her to scan my flowers because I needed to leave. She looked at me with her rude eyes and responded in a nasty tone of hers, "I am!" She then finally proceeded scanning them. After scanning the flowers, she threw them down onto the cashier table. It was hard enough to knock off a few petals. She then handed the receipt to my husband and said, "Here you go!" If I didn't have to leave to get to my son, I would return those flowers and ask to talk to a manager. Poor customer service! I'm considering boycotting this Vons. read more

If I could give this store a zero I would. HORRIBLE customer service, the only person in the deli department worth anything is Belinda. The guy in the deli department today refused, yes REFUSED, to make a sandwich for me even though I told him I was going to shop and he about 35 minutes to make it, one sandwich, complained to the manager and he was not shocked by the guys attitude. Manager walked over to the deli and told him to make the sandwich and the guy still refused to do. He finally started to make the sandwich but not before he proceeded to belittle me and talk below his breath about how crappy the store was and how they didn't staff the departments properly, with the manager standing there. I asked him if he could just make the sandwich and keep his comments to himself, he said he wouldn't and didn't care if he got written up because it was worth it because I was such a nasty customer. Needless to say, I didn't wait for the sandwich to be done and I will NEVER go back to this Vons. I could overlook the fact that they are constantly out of things, overlook the fact that you have to check every single date on items because there is a 50/50 chance it is way past the expiration date, overlook the fact that there is always a long wait and that 3s a crowd sign they have hanging means nothing, but I will not be belittled and talked to like crap by someone over a fricking sandwich. Your job is to work in the deli department and that includes MAKING SANDWICHES. If you don't like your job and don't want to do your job duties, find another one. My family has shopped at this location since they opened, pretty sad that I will now take my business elsewhere after all those years. I know my $600 a month on groceries means nothing to them, but it means something to me. I will drive to the other side of town, hell I will even drive to Moorpark or Thousand Oaks, before I step foot back in this Vons. The manger really needs to get a handle on his employees, there are hundreds of people in this very town that would love to have a job and would work hard at a job, maybe you should consider replacing some of your staff with them and making your store better. Or continue to ignore it and lose more loyal customers like my family. read more

If I could, I would give this store a negative star. I am new to the area and was happy to know there was a Vons near my home. I have shopped and worked in dozens of Vons/Safeway/Pavillions from San Francisco to Las Vegas for over 35 years. This store has the worst management I have ever encountered. Shopping here has been an awful experience. The employees are unhelpful and grouchy (as if the manager just finished dressing everyone down) and the layout of this store is convoluted. I figured I couldn't find items because the store is new to me. After about 6 visits, I figured out that it was more than that. First off, they NEVER have the weekly ads at the door (even on a Wednesday) Second, employees are rude to customers as well as one another. I have encountered this multiple times in grocery, non-foods and produce. It is as if they have all been pitted against one another. This last time, and I mean LAST I shopped at this store, was the last straw; no ad at the door, rude produce employee wouldn't help me and sent me to another produce employee (who was reasonable though not friendly) He seemed put out to get an item for me from the back. The produce that was on the shelf was in a terrible state. I have been a HUGE fan of the Buy 4 and More program and this store doesn't clearly mark the specials and the special display is terrible and hidden in the back. Finally, because this trip I only had 8 items, I stepped into the express line (which had 7 people ahead of me), there was only one other checkstand (with 5 customers and heavily loaded carts) open and some man milling around between checkstands with a cloth for wiping up. Finally, he opened another checkstand without calling the next customer in line which caused a ruckus with all the other disgruntled customers who had been stuck waiting an exceptionally long time. I finally gave up and left my items at a closed checkstand. All of this points to HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT. I am not the least bit surprised to read other people's poor reviews of the manager of this store. I have never posted a yelp review for a grocery store, but I was compelled to post this one. THIS STORE MANAGER NEEDS A REVIEW AND RETRAINING. I will not return to this store EVER. It is a complete disaster. read more
