Terrible customer service. Placed an order online because I wanted to support a local store during these hard times. Order was never fulfilled. Didn't get an email notifying me that order is canceled. No communications alerting me of the situation. Was told at pickup order was canceled. Going to go out of my way not to buy from in the future. Bad business practice. read more

Waiting another 10-15 minutes to pick up a prescription after this crappy Vons store called to say it was ready gives me time to post a review. This Vons is terrible! A few months ago I was waiting at the meat counter with other customers, there was no one at the counter, it was about 6pm on a weeknight. There are never any floor staff so I started calling the phone number to try to get them to send someone. I called about 10 times and tried various departments. You can actually hear the phone ring as you are dialing. I finally gave up and mentioned it to the checkout kid, whose response was "this store sucks, they never have enough people." Fast forward to today at 5:23 PM and there's no 2% milk (see photo). The stock outages are ridiculous. Went to buy bacon and noticed they screwed up the comparative pricing by switching between ounces and pounds. Get your shit together, this Vons is an embarrassment. read more

I'm a little confused about why this grocery store has such a low rating. It's always super neat and well... a grocery store, I'm not sure by what bar people are holding this place to. The deli department is great, the staff is nice and I have used the bakery twice and both times it's been wonderful. My only complaint is that I cannot shop here with my kids because they only have three (that's right THREE) double carts so it is impossible to go shopping with two toddlers here. read more

This store has a lot of work to stay competitive. First time that I needed to use the rest room and this is the mess I found. read more

If you're looking for the charm of a bus depot but with groceries, then this is the place for you. When Haggen's, an out of state chain took over most of the grocery stores in the area and quickly went bankrupt, this Vons in particular began gouging everyone. Simi was reduced to a handful of stores and they took advantage. I don't know when the last time corporate paid this site a visit but it's long overdue. From the non-existent cart retrieval, expired anchovies, employees smoking in the front and the Oliver Twist feeling one gets at the deli and meat counters this store remarkably misses all the points. I go out of my way to avoid this store and only go when in an extreme pinch, you should do the same and go somewhere else. What a dump! read more

The prices here are awful. Seriously, it's a grocery store, they should be able to compete with target and Walmart in the grocery department. Cheese prices keep rising, milk prices are out of control, and the BEER!!! They have fake sales!! Hey claim to have beer on sale but it's still more expensive than EVERYWHERE... I am so sadden to have to take my business to a Target and a Walmart, as should everyone else until this grocery chains stop ripping people off!!! Look at this picture I have here VONS!!! This beer is a normal price for beer!!! Your grocery chains are criminals!! read more

I'm bumping my review up to 4 stars too because they've got the best organic produce department and a fresh selection of seafood. I also found my shampoo and conditioner here cheaper than at Target, which is unheard of. I also like the wood burning oven in the bakery section and their awesome artisan bread's that are baked daily. And, they always seem to have great beer specials. One area they could still improve - can you please get a bell for the seafood department? I've stood there twiddling my thumbs while the guys listen to loud music in the back on several occasions. read more

OK I am bumping this up to 4 stars as maybe my review made them realize the dismalness of the place and they remodeled and did a darn good job of such a massive space (So large that GM can park their corp jets inside ahha) It now really looks like a modern non trailer park Vons.. I walked in and literally did a double take remembering what it did look like on my first visit I only came here as it was the closest store off the freeway on my home from work. read more

This review is solely based on the deli/sandwich counter. Every single time I come here it's at least 20 minutes to order a sandwich. The workers have absolutely no sense of urgency and work as slow as molasses when making anything. They're all a lot older maybe this is the reason but do not come here if you are in a hurry. I wish they would hire a better trained staff for this area. It's the worst. And they're never ever friendly. They scowl at you when you come up to the counter and that's only when they acknowledge you have been standing there for minutes already. Horrible service. read more

Lot's of expired dates on their items especially dairy. They repackage and re-date expired, stale bakery items. Most expensive market in town. Their produce is terrible. Indifferent employees seem defeated. All the signs of a store going out of business. Ralphs over all better in every way. Hell, even WalMart has Vons beat and that's as bad as it gets. read more

This place used to fabulous, now it is not so good. I literally have shopped at this Vons for most of my life and am sad to see how it is now. I was doing my normal shopping and was looking for a specific item for a recipe. Having had to ask about hard-to-find items before, I knew that they could just look it up in the front-end computer to see if they carry whatever you need. I asked the checker to do so, and she asked what I was looking for. She said that they did not have it. I asked her if she could ask the manager, so she called him over ("R") and he said that they do not have it. I asked if he could look it up and he said he did not need to because they didn't have it. Okay, whatever, obviously they didn't have it. I went to the produce market, where they have some ethnic foods, and sure enough they had it and knew what I was talking about. On my next trip to Vons I looked to see if they had it, now that I knew what it was, and sure enough THEY HAD A BUNCH!!!! Whatever, I don't go there anymore. That was the last straw in a long line of non-customer-service friendly experiences I had. At least it's remodeled and not so fugley anymore. I shop at TJ's and Costco now. read more

I've moved a lot in the last few years, and I've never seen a grocery store that's harder to navigate. The "dairy" section is a shelf hidden in the beer & wine area. When I needed chili, it took three staff members wandering the store to find it for me. Turkey bacon isn't with the bacon. There are two locations for granola. The organic granola is over with the hot cereals, the regular granola is at the opposite end of the isle next to the cold cereals. I've been here a dozen times, always thinking that I've finally learned where everything is, but the weirdness just keeps on coming. Last night I got stuck in line behind someone who needed a price check on pudding. The bagger went running to find the price on the shelf, and took 10 minutes because *he can't find anything in that store either.* Sure, the store is pretty, but I don't care. I'm done. I'm headed for Albertsons on Madera, where I can find what I need. read more

The pharmacy at this Vons really needs to do better. I purposely wait for a day or so for them to get my prescription ready, I get a call saying it's ready and I come in and they can never find it. There seems to be enough employees but they don't seem to be organized. Whoever is the manager here needs to fix this pharmacy, it cannot compete with other pharmacies in the Updated: I have switched to CVS since then. I am much happier with their pharmacy and they even provide text alerts when your prescription is ready. read more

Now a Haggens. No longer Von's. Not much of a facelift to this store. Lots of new faces inside. Hope it worked out for the loyal former employees. Not impressed with the more expensive prices. No problem. We all have choices. read more

I ordered groceries to be delivered at 5:30 pm and it would be delivered between 7:00 and 8:00 pm. By 8:30 I realized it wasn't coming. I called the store. They do not deliver. I'm a Senior citizen, ordered food for pick up in 2 days. Went to pickup, parked and read signs stating no car pickups. I ordered drive up and go at this vons. It is so bad. The customer service was horrible. They don't seem to care if they retain customers or not. Terrible service. What a piece of shit place this is. I don't even know who the manager is they don't connect me to that person. Such a crook service don't order delivery or pick up and go from this place. Zero stars this one doesn't deserve any stars. That employee that can not plan and just take orders without thinking of resources and customer should be fired.. incompetency at its heights. read more

Major bait and switch, they make it look like the Lara bars are only 79cents , but only (in very small print) if you buy 5,other wise they cost $ 1.79. Quite a leap. They succeeded in fooling me the first time I purchased a bar thinking it was .79 cents but receipt shows $1.79. read more

I was coming here over 10 years but the service has been progressively getting worse in the past few years. The worst was some of the very rude women cashiers. One middle aged lady has an obvious racist attitude. To be fair, some younger male cashiers were nice on the other hand. But I am taking my business elsewhere. read more

Unfortunately this is my local Vons so I have no Choice but to come here when I have a emergency store run but I hate coming here there chicken at the deli department is always old and nasty they never have fresh chicken and never have chicken noddle soup and when I ask the deli department if they can make some they give me there attitude and don't want to I have had this issue more then once talk to managers nothing ever changes oh well I also want to talk about a incident I had today with a cashier named Edward I ask for a item price check and when the other employee came back it was a mistake they didn't want to honor price so I said okay that fine can you just refund me back and the cashier Edward told me I had to go back in a huge line again In order for him to do the return I was shocked he was very rude and had a big attitude the whole time and he seemed like he didn't want to work i don't recommend anyone to do there food shopping here unless it's a emergency read more

So random but the sushi here alone deserves the 5 stars. I live close to this Vons and from time to time pop in for quick pick ups. I always pass the man making the sushi and he seems so kind pleasantly smiling and I always thought one of these days I'll try his sushi creations. I'm glad I did! I requested a rainbow row and he told me he was busy but could make it in a few minutes which was fine as I still needed to do a bit of shopping. My rolls were done quickly I took them home and all 4 rolls my boyfriend and I shared were so delicious and fresh. So next time you pass that sushi do not hesitate to try it! It's better than some I've had in actual sushi bars. The rest of this Vons always meets my expectations. I love their carts with the perfect cup holder for your Starbucks cup. Their flowers arrangements are gorgeous and have stayed fresh for some time when I have purchased them. The produce section is always stocked and I love the selection of cheese they have! read more

This review is strictly for the flower department. My son needed a last minute corsage for prom and all the flower shops in Simi were too busy to do it. I called Vons and they were able to fit my order in even though it was Mother's Day weekend and they were also very busy. The corsage was beautiful!!! Thank you!!! read more

My family likes the produce here, the deli, and the meats. Thanks for the good service also. Our favorite deli sandwich is the turkey one (normally with bacon, but we get it without) with the ranch sauce. Delish! p.s. There is an ever-present Sbux here too, if you are in need of a fix. read more

Its Vons. Like every Vons, this place is stocked isle after isle with products that are useful and purposeful. Some of the stuff they call food, I question. But they do a good job of training their staff to be friendly and courteous to their customers. If you ask where something is at Vons, they WALK you to it. In the big chain stores that sell the same things, service matters. I only wish Vons would give me more options; as a whole-foodist, I'm enjoying the continued growth of organics, but need this to be larger than it is at Vons. I used to be able to buy Soy Ice Cream, now, no dice. read more

Worst Vons. The deli is always very slow and they ignore you in the morning. Today a very rude deli manager named Josh demonstrated exactly why I avoid this Vons. Add to that a condescending cashier named Janice and I will not be back to this location again. read more

We call this place Hooker Von's. It seems lately the clientele from the Motel Six across the street are "shopping" for love here. This place has gone down hill in the last 5 yrs. This review is for the Von's off erringer. I have had two recent issues with meat I purchased at this location. The first issue was for organic chicken breast I purchased. It looked ok and showed no signs of being spoiled when in the package. However, once I opened the chicken package the smell was overwhelmingly bad. I immediately tossed the chicken out. The next issue was with purchasing expired horned pork tenderloin. When I say expired I mean. I bought it the 15th of March but the package indicated it expired the 3rd of March. I normally am good about checking dates but was in a hurry. They need to follow up on their FIFO process or someone who doesn't notice or know better is going to get very sick. read more

I left my wallet there and when I called to ask about it, they had it. Happy! Honest! What else can I ask for from a grocery store?

Lately the evening cashier employees are too busy talking about personal or work issues while taking care of customers. It seems that no one cares anymore about customer service which was great before. read more

Some years ago I brought in a Haagen Dazs buy 1 get 1coupon (not knowing any better) that I got in the email. The cashier said it was a fake coupon, then the bagger girl said to the cashier "should I call the security?" Over this coupon hoax? Give me a break! Just recently I bought some pastry bread from the pastry section. The cashier thought it was bagel (as the bagels cost more than the pastries), she even open the bag to check it out. She said they were bagels. I was in the express lane didn't want to argue with her and was in a hurry, so I paid the pastries for the bagel price and left. Rude stupid workers! read more
