I'm a big fan of Grocery Outlet. I want to shout from the freeway what a wonderful treasure this store is to our community. Since the new owner Jesus & fabulous Mgr Michael, I'm always surprised with new finds, every time I go in, which is many times a week. I go in just to explore what new goodies they've brought for their customers. Their prices always beat the chain stores. But what's even nicer is that if I don't see something I'm looking for, that may be "out of the mainstream", I can make a request & they're always willing try & order the item. I'm hesitant to tell everyone how great they are. I'll have to share my "personal" secret. Starting a biz is challenging, as so many "starts ups" go out of biz these days. In between a few appointments I came Into the store for the first time. It should actually be called the gross-ery outlet. I purchased three things and one of the things that I purchased was a bottle of wine which was corked. Dead dead dead disgusting and I'm not driving back to Simi Valley 40 minutes to return it but will definitely never step foot in another one read more

Not only are the prices better than anywhere else, the staff is the best in the county. Micheal, in the meat department, has been nothing but a truly great human being when it comes to customer service and helpfulness. He strives to make the customer not only feel taken care of but also feel like family. Hector is another stand out. He has gone over and above to help me with finding products, opening a lane for my big orders, and has a general real humanity about him that traditionally gets lost in this modern day robotic personality age. I came here with the goal of getting just soy milk but came out with a buncha other things at a good price too. I was sad to see that they didn't have soy milk. The one back in Mammoth had a cartoon going for $0.97 although that was a special deal since it was nearing its best by date so I didn't expect that kind of discount here but I was shocked to see that there wasn't any Silk Soy Milk. There was cashew milk and almond milk but those don't have the amount of protein that I'm looking for per serving so I settled tor the kids blend of pea and oat milk. It was $1.99 per carton which each has 8 cups so it felt pretty decently priced. Other than the soy milk, I also got tomato paste which I found to be the cheapest here when comparing to Aldi. I checked out the vegan chicken nuggets but I believe I can get something similar for cheaper at Smart and Final. I was shocked to see the green jackfruit. I was in search of it for vegan tamales so I'm glad I found them here. The can is larger than the usual canned food but it was $1.99 which seems a little expensive but I have nothing to compare it to since I've never purchased green jackfruit before. This might be the cheapest out there but I wouldn't know. I would suggest price comparing with Trader Joe's nearby since I heard that they also sell green jackfruit. It was a little hard to find in grocery outlet though. It's on the highest shelf above where most people look and I saw it right when I was about to give up on my search. I'm glad they had what I consider to be a niche item though. I also got a mixed bag of beans while I was here. They had humongous bulk size bags too but I don't have the space to store those right now. I didn't get a cart because I wasn't expecting to get so much so I looked like quite the mess holding everything in my two arms and hands. When I walked up to the checkout, another cashier appeared to open up another checkout. That was nice because my arms were gonna give out soon. Checkout went smoothly. When I told the cashier I was gonna run out real quick to get a cart, he respected my decision and let me while still continuing to scan my items. He offered a bag which I politely declined and he didn't insist any further on giving me a bag. It's a respectful establishment with very nice prices for many items. I will definitely be coming back for a lot of staples. I'm not sure how good their produce prices are but I've seen some good sales on strawberries before. read more

Grocery Outlets are individually owned so when you go to one you just are not sure what you are going to get. We made the choice to go to this one for some Pizzelle, Waffle Cookies the local store ran out of (probably due to us). They are good and do not have a lot of calories so we enjoy them after dinner. We found them and got quite a few (no judging), "hmmm, how many can I fit in this cart?" Anyway, we got enough to last for sure and also found some other items our store ran out of before. Like I said each is a little unique so you can find some items at one store and then never see them again. I like all the stores for sure, so five stars for this one as well. read more

The wife and I stop in here about once a month, maybe twice, depending on their specials. They have a lot of unique items and can have very good pricing on more of the harder to find thing. They have a great selection of unique cheeses and the deli area is limited, but we always find something interesting back there. They have an ever changing "zone" of strange and seasonal items up front, to night there were gnomes, exercise mats and Valentine's day candy. Plenty of odds and ends for the bored shopper. Hit every aisle when you visit, don't be in a rush, and just look around. You should find many items not seen at most markets. Not quite an adventure, but almost; we like this market. read more

A bit different from local markets around the area of Simi Valley. I do have to say that I do enjoy coming here sometimes,because there are really no lines or long waits. However very limited in variation of items that I frequently bye. Smaller selection of most Grocery items. You do have to look around for items that are a bargain,sometimes I find things that normally would cost a bit more at a bigger market chain. Its just depends on you own personal needs. This chain of Grocery Outlet market does not accept any manufacturers coupons,so apparently most items are already discounted. I love this market! I mean they have all kinds of deals here! They have great deals on make up, beauty supplies, hair products, medicines, cook wear, flowers, drinks, and of course produce and food. This place rocks and the staff is really helpful and friendly. One thing I should mention look for dates sometimes the items may only last a few weeks or days on SOME things. Wow!!! My family always grocery shops here. We have been coming here for years. The discounts, the constant rotation of food makes it EXCITING!! Today, as my family checked out like we usually do.. the cashier stops us from paying and says the owner paid for our bill!! This has never happened to us before. First time here today! Was getting my nails done decided to check it out. First off several people greeted me upon entering, that was nice! Store has wide isles, is clean and well lit. Now if you're looking for laundry detergent, trash bags, water, veggies, they have very good prices. They do not accept manufacturers coupons only their own. Not much of a meat selection and no great deals, but got some bacon for 2.29. I don't have much of a frozen meal selection other than Amy's. So if your looking for stuff you can pick up at Ralph's or other big grocery stores, they don't have it. I got 60 kitchen trash bags for 4.99 same price for huge sun laundry Detergent. Also got some magnesium for 2.50 a bottle, super deal. Cashier was super friendly. read more

I'm a Manager of a Grocery Store so I'm picky where I shop but this Simi Valley Grocery outlet ALWAYS has Great Deal's and coupons when you sign up for the email! I was very disappointed this afternoon with an employee in an Ohio State shirt. After I had waited my turn to check out 1 item, this guy came & interrupted the cashier to do some "drawer cash" stuff, because his time was more important than customers. After a few minutes, I left while he still disrupted other customers. He could easily have left customers finish checking out, before doing this. This is Not the type of employee that I've experienced at this store & hopefully this Problem employee situation is corrected. NFG!! read more

Not quite sure I understand this place fully but do understand that you can get some great bargains here. I usually go here daily and search around and find some exceptional deals. It is work. Also, they don't have everything that you may need. For example if you're making Mexican food they may have some of the items, but not all of the items. That part is a bummer because not a one shop stop at this place. I'd call myself somewhat of grocery outlet connoisseur and this is one of the best Grocery Outlets I've been to!! Huge store, very organized, great selection and great prices. Kite hill cream cheese for $1.99, Guacamole for $0.49, Chardonnay for $2.99, Beanitos chips for $0.99... really the prices speak for themselves. Let the haters continue to shop at Whole Foods while we get the same high quality stuff with great service and a clean store at 1/3 of the price. read more

The owner's enthusiasm alone is enough reason to give this store a visit ! The store itself was a very pleasant surprise. I had expected something far more basic: it contained more departments, and more choices in each department than one might think. For example, there was a wide variety of dog foods, and even several choices from the upscale Blue brand. The owner also informed me that the other locations have different owners, and different offerings. This was helpful info bc my husband visits the Camarillo store regularly, ... and now I'll know w h y when he's unable to find something : ) This store is Not at all near me, but when I'm in Simi Valley, I will continue several more miles up Cochran to see what great finds are available at this gem ! And even though there was only one man ahead of me in line, the nice cashier opened up another register ~ unnecessary, but thoughtful. I used to go to one of these out of the area so was happy to find one here in Simi Valley. Like all discount stores you have to know your prices. Sometimes the original price is marked as having been much higher than it was. However, this place is clean. The owners and help are very friendly. The deals are good to great. I like to eat pretty healthy and have found Isopure here and protein bars at a good price. I found awesome brand peanut butter at a good price as well. about twenty five percent less than the store. Some great cheese deals as low as sixty eight cents. amazing and awesome. Their fresh fish and fruits are sometimes really the same price as the grocery store. You just have to know how to shop, know your prices and you will do great here. I'll be back for sure... oh and half price on all kinds of different brands of healthy or not so healthy ice cream pints. yum. read more

They have a lot of cheap and good quality items. If you're lucky, you can get a really good deal on pellegrino case for half the price compared to the other stores. A whole box of Cliff bar is sold 75% cheaper than Whole Foods! That's a deal. They have marinated meats, steak, frozen seafood for a great price too. Plus the staff are so friendly. read more

Last week I finally got a chance to go here and shop, I was so very pleased to find a little corner store, That I can run into and get something real quick... And yesterday when I ran in for my 2nd time, I was again read it very pleasantly And welcome back! The young lady recognized me and that was a very good feeling... It was cheaper, but also smaller so it didn't carry very many items. I can't imagine being able to do all my shopping here. It reminded me of the grocery section of the 99cent store. I will stick to Sprouts. I will say though that the people are incredibly friendly. We bought a drink and the cashier grabbed a bottle opener so she could open it for us. This was without us asking. The cart guy then said "have a nice day" on our way out. It would be good for a quick stop for a couple items. read more
