So happy that we finally have a Daiso in Ventura County! If you've never been to Daiso, it's an international discount store that sells cute, Japanese products for a reasonable price. I always enjoyed walking around the store to look at all the cute things they had including stationery, housewares, organizers, arts and crafts supplies, gifts, and snacks! And they also sell seasonal products like Halloween products, Christmas, spring/cherry blossoms, etc. I always get my decor here whenever I wanted to decorate my home or office. The shelves were well stocked, clean and organized. They have baskets for you to use while you shop. Don't forget to bring your own reusable bag or buy one of their reusable tote bags so you don't have to pay for a paper bag! Staff was friendly and I think the location was perfect. You can go get boba, eat, or shop at Trader Joe's once you're done shopping. Lots of parking in the plaza. Can't wait to come back and buy more cute things!

Do all items sold ostentatiously (Daiso)? This is the 1st time I found out that Daiso is finally arrived here in my neighborhood! I have been following Daiso for a long time in different cities always hoping it may come to my hood. So, this is my first excursion in this location, and hope, to see more cute stuffs. So far so good. Cashiers are courteous & friendly. Price per item varied between $1.75 to around $10. Many cute items when you find them. Buy them or they may be gone on your next visit. Enjoy shopping...

No price tag means it's $1.75

I had a hard time figuring out how much things cost against their pricing schedule so I had to ask for help. Their staff is very friendly and informed me that no price tag/indication means it's $1.75. I wish it was clearer on the packaging because every item you pick up, there's a number written on it which makes you think you need to convert it. I had them show me an example to tell me what's what so I was clear - there will be a red/orange sticker on the item to trigger the price lookup. I've never had this problem with the other locations I've visited in the past. Also, I thought this store would be a little bigger coming from the outside. I've been to the one in Northridge, CA and Carrollton, TX and they are pretty huge so I was expecting the same setup. Overall, I'm glad that this store is in our neighborhood albeit small, it still carries a varety of items. I looked all around and landed on my favorite aisles: stationary and arts & crafts. They carry a lot of items and I was able to find everything quickly so I'm coming back for a bigger shopping haul. Everything adds up fast but it's fun and you get a variety of goods for cheap so it's a win win.

Fun place with all kinds of things. Toys, food, kitchenware, etc. Wifey loved finding Hello Kitty gear. Fun place, biggest knock is having trouble interpreting price tags.

This is a great store to open in Ventura County. My family enjoys shopping at Daiso locations in LA and OC, but very happy to have one in VC now. There is free parking for customers and good food options in the same shopping complex. The staff are all very friendly and inside the store is very clean and organized, just like other Daiso stores. First 100 customers to purchase $30 or more will be gifted a swag bag on Saturday and Sunday of their grand opening (30 Sep and 1 Oct). Recommend arriving about 45-60 minutes early if you want the first 100 swag bag and bring some reusable shopping bags.

Finally! A local daiso next to me

I visited the TJ Maxx location on March 31, 2026, and had a very disappointing checkout experience…read morethat I feel compelled to share. The cashier, Fareba N., asked whether I had a TJ Maxx credit card. I politely responded that I did not and was not interested in applying. I fully understand that employees are required to present these offers, and I acknowledged her effort with a smile and a clear, respectful "no, thank you." However, despite my clear response, she proceeded to repeat the entire credit card pitch again while continuing to scan my items. At the end, she emphasized the potential $8 savings if I applied. While this was already excessive, I remained polite and again declined, reiterating that I preferred to proceed with checkout using my own credit card. At that point, the interaction became highly uncomfortable. She insisted again, this time in a manner that felt unusually aggressive and condescending, repeatedly asking, "You don't want to save $8 today?" The tone and persistence felt less like customer service and more like being pressured by a scripted system, completely disregarding my clearly stated decision. As a frequent shopper at TJ Maxx, I find this particularly disappointing. Not having a store credit card does not diminish customer loyalty or value. I consistently support the store through regular purchases, and respectful treatment should not be conditional on opening a credit account. I want to emphasize that this is not about a single offer. It is about the inability to respect a customer's clear and polite refusal. In past visits, staff have always stopped after one or two attempts and proceeded professionally. This experience went far beyond that norm. This kind of excessive and persistent sales pressure reflects poorly on the store's customer service standards. If this behavior is encouraged or left unaddressed, it risks creating a negative ripple effect on the overall customer experience and brand perception. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and reinforces a more respectful, customer-first approach at checkout.
