However, despite my clear response, she proceeded to repeat the entire credit card pitch again while continuing to scan my items. At the end, she emphasized the potential $8 savings if I applied. While this was already excessive, I remained polite and again declined, reiterating that I preferred to proceed with checkout using my own credit card. At that point, the interaction became highly uncomfortable. She insisted again, this time in a manner that felt unusually aggressive and condescending, repeatedly asking, "You don't want to save $8 today?" The tone and persistence felt less like customer service and more like being pressured by a scripted system, completely disregarding my clearly stated decision. As a frequent shopper at TJ Maxx, I find this particularly disappointing. Not having a store credit card does not diminish customer loyalty or value. I consistently support the store through regular purchases, and respectful treatment should not be conditional on opening a credit account. I want to emphasize that this is not about a single offer. It is about the inability to respect a customer's clear and polite refusal. In past visits, staff have always stopped after one or two attempts and proceeded professionally. This experience went far beyond that norm. This kind of excessive and persistent sales pressure reflects poorly on the store's customer service standards. I reentered the line and was next customer to pay with one employee working the registered. While I was waiting for someone in front of me making a lengthy return, 7 customers piled up behind me. Coco C. (The coordinator) made eye contact with me and saw me waiting to be rung up. May of us in line were commenting how slow the check out process was as Coco organized shopping carts while a long line formed. 8 customers in line, one active register, and employees who are free to ring people up. In a world where Amazon is king, and online shopping is convenient, why would I waste my time shopping at stores like TJmaxx when the service is horrific. Upon entering, I can see that it is busy and smelling good too. Pretty good sized store. I have noticed that there are no discount days like how it is in the SF Valley. Except Mondays for military and first responders. Comparing the prices to other Goodwill stores, I find their prices cheaper. Like the 2 branded purses that I have checked. Michael Kors bag was $29.99. Tory Burch was $49.99. In other stores it would have been much higher than that. I looked around and saw a gently worn Kids shoes for $5.99, Towel for $2.99 and a skirt for $4.99. It was a good shopping experience. No line at the register so it was a fast transaction. *Private parking that is shared with other businesses. *I haven't noticed a restroom nor a fitting room.
