I used to work around the area and from time to time I stop by here. Yesterday while visiting TO, I decided to stop by and see what I can get into. Upon entering, I can see that it is busy and smelling good too. Pretty good sized store. I have noticed that there are no discount days like how it is in the SF Valley. Except Mondays for military and first responders. Comparing the prices to other Goodwill stores, I find their prices cheaper. Like the 2 branded purses that I have checked. Michael Kors bag was $29.99. Tory Burch was $49.99. In other stores it would have been much higher than that. I looked around and saw a gently worn Kids shoes for $5.99, Towel for $2.99 and a skirt for $4.99. It was a good shopping experience. No line at the register so it was a fast transaction. *Private parking that is shared with other businesses. *I haven't noticed a restroom nor a fitting room. read more

Goodwill has completely lost sight of what people expect from a nonprofit. They receive donated items for free, yet they're pricing used furniture at hundreds of dollars--$299 for a donated piece, or "$100 on sale," is absurd. The money they make comes from selling donated goods, so it's incredibly disappointing to see prices that put those same items out of reach for the people who shop there looking for affordable options. What makes it even more frustrating is being asked at checkout if I want to round up and donate even more. When you're already charging prices like this on donated merchandise, it feels completely tone-deaf. A nonprofit should be focused on making donated items accessible to the community, not pricing them like a retail furniture store. This experience was disappointing and honestly makes me question whether Goodwill is still serving the people it's supposed to help. read more

Nice store. Relaxing. But would be cool if the bathroom was open and they had ps1 games on shelves.

I like this particular store because it was very organized. I was able to literally put together an outfit at 4 pm in Halloween to wear that night. The constant flow of merch was really appreciated. I bought a pair of beautiful Saks Fifth Avenue shoes that were brand new. The fit well and I'm so excited. The merchandise here is not as over loved as other stores. I did like that they had some new things with tags. The staff was also really helpful. read more

Meh Super crowded and dirty and looks like things just get pushed in. No organization at all. Tons of clothes and bric a brac but the lack of organization is such a deterrent from wanting to look through. Also, what the heck with the prices. I saw a beautiful large seasonal painting but priced at $399 seems a bit unreasonable. They had a pretty wooden wine rack but not dropping $100 at goodwill for just that. Their saving grace was that they offer discounts for military, first responders and healthcare workers on Mondays but other than that this location is a pass. read more

So, when I asked my grandkids where they wanted to go shopping, I was told "A Thrift Store!". They informed me that "The style of clothes they like" are not available in the store. We had a blast looking at everything, and they found lots of "Vintage" clothing. I also bought them two Christmas Craft Ornament Kits. The employees were very friendly and enforced mask useage . We left with two huge bags of merchandise, and many of the items looked brand new or gently worn. I educated my grandchildren about all the "Good " that Goodwill does. Founded in 1902, money its thrift stores make goes towards community programs like job training, and placement services. A "Win-Win". read more

I realize this can be a tough business - shoppers are looking for extreme deals, while others may have others goals. We just left after standing in line for quite a while as they only had one cashier, despite a line building up. One of the other patrons was rude to me and insisted she was in line before me, which she wasn't. She also had a cart load of items, while I had two. It wasn't worth the wait, the hassle / drama, so I left the merchandise and headed for the serenity of our car. The lone cashier had her hands full checking out a guest with a cart full of kids' clothes. Another employee came up to the desk and announced that they would be closing in 15 minutes, but instead of opening another register, she just walked away from four people in line. That led to the situation where the woman who cut me off was feeling frustrated and entitled. Essentially, at closing time with a line building, more than one checkstand open would be helpful. Dear Hubby has the patience to deal with this store. I likely won't return for a while, at least until I forget the hassle of the last visit. read more

Great selection of books and they are priced to sell. Some at 99 cents or more. Good for book lovers and the cashier was friendly.

No restroom, No fitting room, No organization, Bad customer service and the store is filthy. Things are insanely over priced. You get better deals at Target, Ross. TJ max etc and the clothes is new there. Do not recommend. You're better of donating to rescue mission than here because they're greedy with the prices. read more

My daughter and I brought a mattress here as a donation. We checked that the store was open until 8pm. The goodwill's site states that donations are most likely accepted until 8pm. One of the cashier's refused to take the mattress stating that no donations are accepted after 6 pm or before 9am. Another cashier said no mattresses are accepted. As far as I could see, donation hours are not published anywhere, and there was no online exclusion list that excludes mattresses The three stars are for poor communications. read more

I love garage sales and thrift stores, it's kinda like a treasure hunt. After driving by this location multiple times, I decided to check it out. The many racks of clothing were neat and orderly when I stopped in. The children's games, kitchen items, Halloween items were another story. I couldn't believe the messy racks of children's games and kitchen items. There was a box chocked full of Halloween wigs and costumes in which more than half were torn or missing parts. The numerous wigs were a mess at $4.99, it was kinda nuts. Could do better at a dollar store, where at least nothing is broken. Don't know if I'd come back to this location as it doesn't see a lot of care goes into the upkeep. read more

DONATION REVIEW: 5/5 I have been unhappy with donating to the Salvation Army due to them being super picky about everything. Even current items from Target or Amazon's website are scrutinized, making it a hassle. So, I started donating to Goodwill/Thousand Oaks. I tend to forget to return items and miss return windows, so having Goodwill Thousand Oaks take these items off my hands for others who may want them is great! The workers are helpful and not rude! You drive to the back of the building, and they have bins where you put in the items by category. They do not take boxes or bags that you brought your donations in. I appreciate the ease and convenience of dropping off my donations here without hassles. They then put your donation slip in the top of the orange cone, and you grab and go. TIP: Before you bring your donation in, be sure that it's not broken or "trash" - would you buy this item in the condition that you are donating? Do your clothes have rips, holes, or stains? This is not a landfill. read more

Strictly for the donation in the back. It used to be super easy to drop everything off and I always have everything presorted in bags. Now to donate you have to work for goodwill and sort everything according to their bins while the workers stare at you with no assistance. No doubt because a.) they don't want to sort or b.) they don't have the help and in that case just shut the doors for a bit. I saw this happening in my car and asked what was going on. They said we have to sort it, they don't take bags or boxes.... Even though everything was presorted just not the way they wanted it. My solution to save time, Salvation Army! They will take my presorted FREE donation with no hassle. SEE YA!! Sorry but this system was less than convenient to try and give used items away. Not to mention if you are handicapped go to Salvation Army they will help if you need assistance getting it out of your car. read more

this place is a disaster and ridiculously expensive for the most part lots of broken crap... but you can occasionally find good mistakes so its worth stopping by. whoever runs it is pretty awful though. I went there yesterday and for the third time in a Row. the store is FULL of people plus a long line and no employees except for the one older man behind the register who is probably too nice to complain.. they probably dont care about theft since they get everything for free but at the very least someone else should be helping at the register for the people waiting to pay. it you want a good laugh though check out the prices for some of the sneakers more expensive than new and the stuff they put in and behind the counters. this store is a joke read more

Not sure what happened to this location. Been coming here for years but I have given up on this location on my last few trips in here. Everything here is now crazy expensive. This location is now the most expensive Goodwill I've ever seen. Pretty big location but a little messy and cluttered. Most of the stuff is organized by color which is really helpful. I found that a lot customers were actually really rude to the staff, which is obviously not Goodwills fault. Great prices overall for most of the items. The store is clean and organized, the employees are always helpful. I am on Yelp, due to the exceptional customer service on pure kindness of an employee.. EZRA greeted me with a smile & it remained. I am disabled due to spine surgeries, from C7 through S1. That much hardware makes everything including shopping difficult. I like this Goodwill store. Thouand Oaks doesn't have a large selection of thrift stores and this is one I tend to go to first. They are a small/medium sized Goodwill, with a newer remodel and relatively clean and easy to navigate layout. Moderate section of home goods, large selection of women's clothes, and some kids and men's clothes. Not good for finding animal supplies/cages or kid's toys. Not good for finding fancy dresses, but good for everyday wear and picture frames. Friendly staff and good sales once a month. Daily sales on select merchandise that has been in the strore too long. Learn how lines work. I went up to the counter and there was someone still browsing on the end of the line. Was told to wait since she was in line. Okay, that's not how lines work but whatever. So I found a jacket on the floor no price tag, asked a worker on the floor they said 7.99 because it was kids. Go to cashier and told them exactly that, tells me has to check with manager first. Manager tells him 20$ because they go for more online. Who cares how much they go for if you get it donated for FREE??? So many of my friends have had same experience with manager. Will contact corporate and weights and measures over inaccuracies on their prices. A CHILD jacket should NOT be 20 dollars when it's been USED and DONATED!!! read more

It's "funny" when you own/mange the place or maybe when you're a troll, but it ain't "funny" if you are customer. People working here need a lesson or two in social behavior. Don't they have a job because we the customers spend our money there? They could at least respond to your hello, nope, they just stare at you and if you ask a question, they answer it, if answered, as if you did something terribly wrong. They are lazy and very unfriendly. Some elderly lady in charge was truly unfriendly to younger coworkers as well as customers. I used to bring a lot of donations to this store, no more! I honestly didn't have high hopes for a thrift store in Thousand Oaks, but my wallet and I left quite smitten. The inevitable smell of a store filled with clothes and items from gawd-knows-where is a bit off-putting, but nothing that can't be endured. A breakdown of prices: Long sleeves = 4.99 Jackets and dresses = $7.99 DVDs = $2.99 Paperback books = $0.99 Hardcover books = $2.99 I walked out with 15 books, Bridesmaids DVD, a mesh skater dress, a chic blouse, and a vintage suede jacket from the 70s for $40. This review is for drop off services. We recently moved and are finding all kinds of things that we do not want/need anymore but would be great for someone else: clothes, tables, vacuums, kid toys like skateboards and outgrown bicycles. Kid and dog in car we barely wasted any time on a mid day Sunday, drop off services were really easy, even if it is never fun to drive behind big buildings. This location is bigger than other locations and also well organized. What I didn't like was that there seemed to be a set price for clothing items. For example all short sleeve tops are $5.99 and all shorts are $7.99. Other locations have basic shirts from $0.99 to $9.99 based on condition and brand. I really like this Goodwill location. It's consistent, clean and the staff is friendly. I appreciate that they take the time to keep it clean. Their selection is pretty good too - not huge but respectable. It's super close off the 101 and has plenty of parking. Tip: Mondays they offer a 25% Senior (50+) discount. read more
