This pharmacy is so slow. If you get there with someone in front of you be prepared to wait. What really irked me on my last visit because I have been using this pharmacy for years is that it is supposed to open at 8 am. I went early to skip the line and at 8 am the doors opened but no one would help me for 10 minutes while they logged into the computers. I even told the man inside I was in a hurry. What happened to 5 minutes early is on time and on time is late. Y They should be able to help me at 8 not wait 10 minutes to login to their system. read more

Date: July 15th around 6am / racial profiled An older woman with a bob and grey hair racial profiled me at this Vons and I am extremely disappointed. I went to this Vons to get a few juices and coconut water since I was feeling under the weather. I was standing outside of the fridge looking at different juices when the woman comes up next to me opens the fridge I was looking at and was very much in my space. I grabbed my belongings and decided to check out. She then proceeded to follow me watching me from each aisle and met me at the cash register where she proceeded to stand behind me while I checked out. I felt so uncomfortable and uneasy about the interaction and was greatly disappointed this is still a thing in 2026. She then proceeded to follow me out of the store. They need to train their staff to treat customers with basic respect. The cashier, Sheda, was extremely rude and deliberately refused a reasonable and simple customer request. Since they have self check out, you can usually get in and out fairly quickly. The store is usually dead, except weekdays after work right before dinner, when it can get super busy. I scanned a bag of chips with jalapeño cheese dip. I accidentally put in my home phone number instead of scanning my Vons wallet for my clipped coupon. When I asked if I can change it, the employee yelled at me and said I have to do it myself at self-check-out because she doesn't have an override and she doesn't want to restart the transaction. She was extremely rude and did not even give me a chance to speak. I didn't give her any attitude or issues, just asked a question. I'm surprised that she treats her customers this way. We always use pickup at this Vons, and the staff consistently goes above and beyond to make sure we receive all of our requested items. The produce is always super fresh, which we really appreciate. Perpetually understaffed. 50% of the time in the morning there is not a single register open with a cashier present, and the staff are grudging about getting someone to open a register. The self-checkout is useless if you're buying alcohol, and incomprehensible if you have fresh produce. Often there is no Organics brand 2% milk in half gallon cardboard cartons, or if a few cartons are left, they're unreachable because nobody has bothered to push the ones in the back of the refrigerator case towards the front. Often there's no Caffeine Free Diet Coke and there are no decent avocados, bananas or raspberries. Bouquets of flowers now routinely come with broken stems, dying leaves, etc. This store has always been modest in quality but now it's downright substandard. PUBLIC BATHROOM PEEPING TOM ALERT! Today I went into this Carmel Mountain Vons' bathroom (always a bad idea, but this time deeply disturbing) and found myself the potential victim of a peeping tom. Tile is ground away right behind the toilet, and inside that dark hole is another smaller hole, drilled by about an 8th inch bit, with white stenciling (an actual logo) that says: JERK MOR in drippy white letters. No joke. A proud pervert did this. On the other side of this hole? The VONS employee bathroom--you can see so from the windows of the Employee Only doors. I took pictures and videos as proof. The worst part: when finally I was able to speak to a manager named Oscar, and showed him the pics, he said, "It's under construction, what do you want?" Normal construction does not include JERK MOR next to a blatant peephole, so this response was patently absurd. He then walked away shaking his head like I was being a Ken. I followed and said, "If I was a woman I'd call the police or sue. That peephole goes right into your employee restroom!" Oscar became visibly angry now. He said "Maybe I'll put tape over it, WOULD THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY?" Then ducked into an office. But my answer then and remains now A HARD NO. What would've made me happy is a manager who responded logically to his bathroom peephole, which would include first to express some shock or at least mild surprise and then, at minimum, to take 1 minute to go lock the bathroom door so other men, women and children do not get abused. Even had this happened I would've walked away deeply disturbed, but nobody would be reading this review. Instead the manager failed and his anger seems now so inappropriate as to be suspicious. To summarize: this particular VONS has a peephole literally labeled JERK MOR in its bathroom today, and for God knows how long before today, and a manager who acts like you're a problem for bringing it to his attention. This is a serious issue that deserves an equally serious, appropriate, mature and IMMEDIATE managerial response. If you or your children have used this bathroom ever please be aware that you may have been observed or even filmed. I'm never going back to this VONS again. I suggest you don't either. read more

I had one of the best customer experiences of my adult life today - a prime testament of someone going above and beyond. Scott you touched my heart today. Last week, I placed a curbside order and forgot about it completely, 2 days later Scott calls with a friendly reminder. Told me he was going to replace some of my produce that went bad and noticed an expiration date on one item, replaced that. Over the phone I could just tell how much he cared. Met Scott later that day, and i was right about him. He is such a nice, kind, genuine human. I get my groceries, leave, 3 minutes go by, Scott called me with an honest mistake, forgot one bag with my frozen items. Told him not to worry about it, just refund me. Had such a positive experience, decided to move my order pick up to the Vons that Scott works at even though it's a further distance from my house. Today, sure enough I am so happy to see Scott bringing out my order. He told me he added the things to my order that he accidentally forgot to give me for free. He didn't have to do that. Words cannot express how much his kindness matters to me. Not sure, but God must be looking out for me, otherwise we probably would have never crossed paths. Scott, if you're reading this, you're truly one of the nicest and kindest professionals I've ever met. I'm making a weekly pickup at this specific Vons a ritual. Thanks for making me feel cared for. Employee didn't want to disturb manager , told to get in line again or take item at wrong price. Then argued with me. Told me it wasn't his problem. It sure wasn't mine. This is VONS I tend to always go to since it's closest to me. I like how it isn't ever that crowded here (because... COVID). Unfortunately, due to the fact that it isn't as crowded, they don't do curbside pickup from here. The closest one that does is all the way in Scripps Poway. Pavilions may also have it, but the prices differ from VONs. They've added self checkout stations and have had them for the duration of the pandemic, and I've almost always used the self checkout station save for one time where the cashier was super friendly. Pandemic related, they have one entryway for entering, and another for exiting only. At the entrance, the grocery carts are separated into two lines, one which says "Sanitized", the other that says "Dirty". And there are always a bunch of sanitized carts. The store also utilizes direction one way arrows (though, no one really follows them I've noticed.) Luckily since it isn't ever that crowded it's not a problem but I try to follow them anyway. Everyone is masked up and respectful and haven't had any issues there at all. Parking lot always has spots. Not a bad VONs at all to be close by. I like how it's not that crowded that most and there is place to move around, unlike the one in Mira Mesa which is super crowded all the time. read more

I only come here when i'm in the neighborhood killing time....i usually grab salad fixings and flavored soda water (generic soda water is a refreshing change from my usual kirkland soda water). great selection of flavors of soda water and the sales are usually pretty good. For some reason the last 2 times i went they didn't have regular cilantro...just overprice organic cilantro...so strange. ..i will stick to getting my cilatro at Northgate or Trader Joes. produce is solid. they sell croutons too (which the kiddos love). read more

This store has made great improvements over the years. Especially with the lines. They really work as a team now to open up more registers when they see the lines build up. The self service kiosks help also. The aisles are cleans, well stocked and organized. They really make an effort to better they're customer service. The deli department staff is very friendly, offers advice and offers samples if you are one the fence about something. We like the fact the cashiers try to remember they're customers. We love seeing Terry and go to her line when she is there. She is very friendly and always has a smile on her face. This is now our go-to supermarket in the area. read more

Just used the Drive and Go option to utilize a coupon and the service was so great, I feel inclined to share. The store was out of a few items and Scott called me to let me know. He let me know of substitutions and that he was charging me the generic price for the items which was so nice. He was very friendly and personable and I felt like he went above and beyond what I expected. Dominic brought my groceries to my car and was so polite, friendly and upbeat. So refreshing! I have had many pleasant experiences while shopping here. I've been helped by a really nice man who was refilling dairy products the other day as well as a man who worked in the deli section who helped me find specific products I had trouble finding myself. However, for any future shoppers, BEWARE of a HORRIBLE CASHIER named TERRY - a heavy set woman of 60+ years of age - who will spew out her hatred and annoyances she has about herself and her life out onto her customers. She is especially rude to young customers. She will find any excuse to yell and be condescending towards her customers. I have witnessed her being extremely rude to countless customers, including myself, however, she specifically takes a liking towards being even more condescending towards people of other races. It is a very sad sight to witness. I will be calling their corporate offices about this cashier because it is completely wrong and unprofessional in how she is and has been treating others. Other than the horrific and incredibly rude cashier Terry, this store is decent. However my experiences dealing with this specific cashier have made me avoid this store completely and I suggest others to do the same. read more

Had to pick up something quickly on Valentine's day, and of course the store would be filled with tons of people buying last minute flowers, treats and dinner necessities for their loved ones. I looked in the fresh produce section for broccolini, and they sell a super small bunch for $2.99. Then I looked in the packaged veggies section, and found a larger bunch for $4.49. I usually prefer buying unpackaged veggies because its more fresh, but sometimes the prices are not quite right. Then I head over to the wine section, my friends recommended a brand of wine that only cost $10, but at Von's, it costs $23?! Talk about major mark ups. I've always noticed that alcohol always cost more at Vons, and its only the cheap price if you buy 6 or more bottles. Is that even fair? And then I had to look for shaved parmesan, and I circled the cheese section and cheese deli section multiple times, I couldn't find what it, and I looked around to see if anyone could help, and there was nobody so I tried for the last time and luckily found it. And the register lines? Good lord, they're long, and super super slow. read more

Do not send your prescriptions to be filled at this pharmacy. Like others have reviewed before, it will not go well for you. The prescriptions are not filled with 24 hours of receiving the script from the MD. You have to go in person & then the pharmacy staff asks you to wait 20 mins to fill it. I called in advance to ask if it was ready, but they do not pick up the phone or answer messages. I have been given someone else's meds in the past & the pharmacy seems to be overwhelmed & unprofessional. Though it is a convenient location, it is not convenient when you have to drive here twice. They are closed everyday from 12-1. I recommend going to a larger chain pharmacy that can fill your prescription within a 24 hour period. read more
