My husband and I evaluated three vendors around the area in great detail and despite Chill coming out slightly more expensive than others, we felt they were the most thorough and comprehensive during the consultation (and the many follow-up questions I had). They were also able to squeeze us into their busy schedule so we could get AC before the heat wave! During installation, they ran into several challenges with placement of the new unit and some wiring that needed more attention. They worked through and around them to make everything work out in the end. I really appreciate their flexibility and expertise to navigate all the roadblocks without changing the scope of work. TIP: Measure the space where the unit is going to be placed and make sure the new unit will fit OR that you discuss this before the project starts.

We made an appointment, A gentleman came out, he emailed us a quote, a day or two later. When we had more questions, Galaxy sent out another gentleman to go over additional questions and we settled on the same, trane/American standard system . Within a week the full system was scheduled for install. The young men who installed the system were very respectful of the property very respectful of my father since his house is immaculate. You would've never known they were even there they cleaned up so well. They completed all the work in one day, which was shocking they went above and beyond and replaced a water nozzle that had been leaking under his house for who knows how long. Their pricing was also very competitive. We had a heat pump installed, and it has been working flawlessly. They even coordinate someone to meet with the final inspector with you, so you don't have to worry about that part of the process. The biggest thing that sets Galaxy apart, though, is their communication. Every message was answered promptly, and none of my questions went unanswered. I really appreciated that because many contractors are simply too busy to stay on top of communication. Throughout the project, I got the impression that they are always looking for ways to improve their service. I received five quotes before making my decision, and I'm very glad I chose Galaxy. I would 100% hire them again. Judging by their rating, it looks like a thousand other customers feel the same way.

My electric range was tripping the breaker. I figured it must have been a short in the electric range. The guy came out and said there's a problem with my breaker. Paid this guy $75 and paid electrician $150 to tell me it wasn't my breaker. In fact, you can hear something click inside the range when it gets power and its infact the range. Lazy people did not want to troubleshoot properly. Bought a new range and everything works now!! Go back to school!

The quoted price for a two-head unit with external pump was in line or lower than the competing bids, backed by an extended multi-year warranty as Mitsubishi Diamond Certified installers. Heat pumps installed alongside existing central air is not an uncommon request, but we had a great conversation with Brook on how we might update to a more modern system in the future, given our original(!) furnace's age. Side questions for him aside, we had a thoughtfully sized system outlined and quoted within a day, and scheduled within two weeks. Our experience with the installation was similarly great, with the team arriving promptly as scheduled and taking the care to put on shoe coverings moving through the house. Everyone was polite and efficient, bringing the plan to life and bringing us in early when there were onsite decisions to be made in our unique spaces. When an issue arose on the cooling not blowing as cold as we had expected, they were quick to assist with troubleshooting, and had it fully remediating within the week. Permits are still pending due to the Oakland backlog, but their lead electrician will also be onsite during the inspection process so I have no worries there. While our immediate need during the heat wave this Spring was cooling our living spaces, I have full confidence that whenever we go to multizone heating and cooling, Spot Free will be our go-to experts!

I received 3 quotes for our HVAC work:…read more- Spot Free: $21K - Vendor we used: $23K - Another vendor who we used before and were happy with but increased their pricing recently: $32K We decided not to go with Spot Free for 2 reasons. First, the heat pump brand was changed in the quote to one that we did not want (Carrier). We were replacing it due to leakage of carbon monoxide. This is obviously a safety concern for us, but also a peace of mind issue. We had discussed using Carrier at the site visit, but I was adamant to avoid it. Second, Brook mentioned that there was a manufacturer's recall on our existing 1-year old Mitsubishi heat pump (we have 2 zones with 2 separate units) and that we should pay him out of pocket to fix it. I was confused, because we received no information regarding a recall and typical costs associated with a recall are not paid by the customer. Furthermore, we hadn't experienced any issues and we're still within the warranty period from the manufacturer and installer. Brook said he had been processing a lot of recalls on units he installed and Mitsubishi was slow to send parts so it's easier to pay him directly for the repair. I contacted the original installer, who we had a very positive experience with initially, and they said there was no recall. I also looked online and couldn't find any information regarding a recall.

I saw the great reviews for AIS and noticed a $58 service call special advertised on Yelp, so I reached out. Making an appointment was incredibly easy. Brenham arrived in just a few hours. He was pleasant to work with and clearly knew his stuff. He quickly diagnosed the issue and fixed it; it turned out to be a disconnected wire, so it was a pretty simple fix. While he was there, he also looked at another issue I was having with my heater short-cycling. It turned out the motherboard needed to be replaced, and he luckily had one with him. The price was on the higher side for a relatively simple swap, but I understand I am paying for his expertise, and since he fixed my AC on the spot, it seemed fair. He offered various other upgrades and maintenance plans, but all of that felt unnecessary for a 34-year-old system that is on borrowed time, so I declined. I would definitely use this company again and was very satisfied with the service.

I called around and AIS came to the rescue. They were able to send a technician, Brenham, out the same day! My window was between noon and 3pm. I got a text from the office at 12:30 that the technician would arrive close to 2:30. Even though that arrival was within the window they had already communicated, they still thoughtfully reached out to give me a more precise time. This was much appreciated as it allowed me to run out and do a couple of errands before the technician arrived. Brenham texted me about 20 min before his arrival saying he was on the way. He arrived right on time and was very respectful and had a nice, easy going demeanor. He got right to work troubleshooting the furnace, explaining to me how he was approaching the task, which I appreciated. I even learned a couple of things about furnaces! The issue ended up being the furnace's mother board and the "universal" board he had was not compatible. I feared this meant he would have to order one and it would be more days without AC. Brenham said he would check his van to see what he had and thankfully had the exact board for my furnace. He replaced the board and the furnace blower turned on! Even though my issues was resolved, he took the extra time to check on my outdoor AC unit and did some diagnostics including checking the refrigerant levels. It was a nice "extra comfort" to know the AC unit checked out fine. I was in a jam and AIS came through for me. Brenham was extremely knowledgeable and did great work. HIGHLY recommend AIS for all your HVAC needs.

We hired all action to remediate our house in 2024. Unfortunately two years later, we did an ERMI…read moreand bad molds were still detected so we took things one step further and hired a mold dog. The mold dog flagged all the places that were "remediated" by all action. The drywall with mold were all taken out but unfortunately the studs with mold were just encapsulated and painted over, therefore still exposing us to molds. I've learned that the proper way of treating studs is to remove and replace and if that's not possible, sand, hepa vacuum, antimicrobal and wire brush all the mold out of the studs. Unfortunately, we learned our lesson the hard way. Please be sure to properly vet your potential mold remediation company and understand if they do things properly and rid of ALL the mold. If you need your house to be medically clean of mold, steer clear from this company. They don't care about clients, they just want to get their foot through the door, get rid of the easy mold on the drywalls and not put in the hard work to really get the mold out of the studs. They will just cover up all the mold with white sealant and call it a day. Again we had an ERMI done two years later, which stachy and chaet still showed up. Learn about your molds, these are the baddddd molds. We then took things further and hired a mold dog & she flagged all the places we remediated. They're also not IICRC certified. Wish I had done better research earlier. See photos.
