Belgium waffle with strawberries whip cream and Nutella drizzle.

I had a Soft fluffy waffle. It was good. Customer service was good. Not too busy. Inside of a parking lot so easy parking. Smaller serving also but overall recommend.

VolksWaffle is a cute, red, mobile waffle truck that sells delicious Belgian waffles. They are usually at the Midtown's Farmer's Market, but recently, I had a chance to try them at my office's holiday celebration. I ordered a waffle with strawberries, blueberries, Nutella, and whipped cream. It was sugary and delicious! The owner was super kind, friendly, and provided great customer service, even when the lines were long. He made sure to pack my to-go waffle with care. The waffles come from Belgium and are heated to perfection right at the mobile waffle truck. The truck itself is very cute and catchy. VolksWaffle is perfect for a great, fun, and tasty treat!

We came while he was closed, but the owner still made us amazing waffles. He also told us a lot about the ingredients. Very cool experience.

Amazing!!! This is what anyone needs as a snack or a sweet treat!! Was so amazing and fresh!! I would recommend it To anyone!!

I've lived in the area for a while but never got the chance to stop by. Owner has a great sense of humor. Will be visiting again, the waffle was genuinely one of the best things I've ever tasted. The drinks are also really good!

The customer service was phenomenal. Very hospitable and kind. The prices are very fair and the coffee is cheaper and better than the big names you usually go to. My friend and I had pulled up at the same time as a few other customers and the man working inside made sure to find a second to check on us, make conversation, and let us now how our order was going. He even taught us that the Dutch call toppings dingus! The waffle was the perfect snack size and the dingus was obviously fresh. We watched as the person working picked up trash around the lot, fed the pigeons, offered customers the leftover product from making a frappe, and he even came to our car and offered us water while we finished our waffles. It's a cute spot to just sit and enjoy the company of a friend and if you hang out by the window you might learn something new! I highly recommend visiting even just for the vibes alone.

It was fun trying somewhere new as we usually go to our favorites. For the past several years we've been going to Scott's for celebrations, but that has gotten old so thankfully we found somewhere new and loved it. I highly reccomend this restaurant. The ambiance is spectacular. If you can get one of the side tables under the overhang with the wine bottle chandelier you'll love it. Here's what we ordered: Borscht with Beef: Traditional red soup made with beets, beef, garden vegetables topped with sour cream- To me it didn't look appetizing, but it's a traditional dish so we split a cup. We didn't have much hope that would be edible. We were blown away trying it. It was actually good. We were shocked. It was so good. It was filled with pieces of tomatoes and beets and huge tender chucks of beef. Spinach Blini-Gluten free, vegetarian, 6 blintzes filled with spinach and creamy white sauce. We really enjoyed these Spinach Blini. They were very rich. I could only eat two to them and took the third one with me to share with my husband. He really liked it and wish there was more. I really wanted to get the Cherry Blini, but we were too full even though we shared an entree. I'm so disappointed as they looked so good. We needed a couple more people at our table so we could have tried more dishes and eaten everything family style. Beef Stew-Tender chunks of beef meat, potatoes, carrots, mushrooms and this good things stewed in perfectly hearty cheese gravy baked in clay pot and served with tortilla on top. This takes me to the Arden-Arcade neighborhood of Sacramento where I had the opportunity in trying out "Sham Sweets". Established in 2019, this hole-in-the-wall Middle Eastern dessert shop is located directly on Fulton Ave and adjacent to Hurley Way. The parking lot is quite spacious as this small business shares itself with many other unique places. Business hours here are also very generous as they are open 7 days a week from 11:00am-8:30pm. I came here on the afternoon of Saturday 2/21/2026 at around 2:00pm. Upon entry, I was pleasantly surprised with how spacious, clean, and inviting this place was. And my oh my, they had a TON of desserts displayed everywhere! Everything from Turkish delights, baklava, künefe, Turkish cookies, and their version of a Middle Eastern ice cream, "Booza". Since it was the most requested item, I took a chance and ordered this. it is quite difficult to explain this food item but it has the chill factor of sweet cream but more of a dense, elastic-stretchy texture. It also had pasty pistachio chunks as a crumb topping. And since I wanted some desserts to go, I also ordered a total of 4 of their "Pistachio Bites"; two traditional/old-fashioned and two modern. Total price for everything only came to $10. The young man who helped me was very friendly, accommodating, and was able to answer all my questions. Since I had already visited their website, https://ediblesacramento.com/editorial/sham-sweets/, I had more of a general idea of what to expect at their bakery. After exiting the building, I enjoyed the Booza outside my car. I have to say that this dessert was like something I never experienced. One thing I have to say is that it is quite dense and creamy, almost a taffy-like custard. And with the chunks of pistachio with other elements packed in, it was quite chewy as well. I loved it but the flavor might turn a few people away. Once I got home, I enjoyed a couple of the Pistachio Bites and those also hit the spot. I love pistachio in general so when you make it into a small savory sweet, the flavor elevates itself on so many levels. The prices here are unbeatable, the customer service here was stellar, they have very generous hours of operation, and the unique Middle Eastern desserts that I sampled definitely did not disappoint. I expect to make many future visits to "Sham Sweets" and this place was sweet! My rating, a unanimous five stars.

I've since moved out of state, but during my last visit in January this year, the treats and drinks were just as delicious as I remembered. This was always one of my favorite spots to spend a few hours catching up with girlfriends over tea and pastries. The ambience is lovely and gives off fancy tea party vibes, making it perfect for casual conversations, book discussions, or just relaxing with something sweet. My personal favorites are the rose macaron and the mont blanc desserts. If I'm feeling hungry, I usually order the ratatouille, and the vanilla bean French toast is amazing when I want something sweet but filling. Matcha is always my go-to drink here too (though it's on the sweet side, so I don't think it's ceremonial grade). I remember my first visit; It was when I stopped by later in the day looking for a birthday cake for my son's 8th birthday about five years ago. I ended up choosing their chocolate mousse cake on a whim since it was one of the cakes they still had on display, and it turned out to be a good decision. My son loved it, but it was too chocolatey for me so he ended up having most of the cake. Still one of the memories I remember most from here. It was something I kept in mind that if I wanted more options and variety, I should arrive earlier in the day. There are a few downsides that keep this from being a full 5 stars for me though. The parking lot is very small and street parking can be difficult, especially during busy hours. The place gets crowded very easily, which is why I usually preferred walking there when I lived nearby. There's often a guard stationed at the front kindly holding the door open, though I imagine that's also due to the neighborhood. Pricing is definitely on the expensive side, but honestly that's fairly expected with a patisserie. My biggest issue is that service can noticeably decline when they're overwhelmed. Depending on when you visit, the line can get absurdly long (almost out the front door), and I've experienced slower service and even had my drink mixed up with another customer's order once. Since I order oat milk due to lactose intolerance, getting the order correct is pretty important. Thankfully, when the bakery isn't overly busy and adequately staffed, the employees are attentive, friendly, and very helpful with the ordering process if you have questions. It is still one of the Sacramento bakeries I miss after moving away. It was so lovely to have a bakery down the street from home.
