I went here for over a year and got my nails done every two to three weeks. The last few times I took my mom or my step mom for their birthdays. Both times they ended up leaving without their manicures. Mine got done while I was getting my pedi but they waited until after to do my moms. Most people don't have an extra 40 minutes to hang out at a nail salon. I could understand if they had been busy but we were the only ones there. The girl that did my nails sat off to the side to eat lunch, they just opened! My polish generally lasts just as long as at other salons so I will be taking my business elsewhere. I have always been happy until my last visit. I called ahead and when I got there one woman started on my nails and then a younger one sat down. She filed my nails two different lengths, one hand is much shorter. Then, she put the gel polish on so thin that only two days later it is already chipping off. I was very surprised when I had a chance to really look at them that the layers of the polish were so thin. I went in today to ask them to fix it and they told me the color I picked is the reason it's so thin. I can't believe they think that I would believe that. I have always gotten gel manicures and they have always always been great and lasted so I know she put much too little polish. They are already chipping and the sparkles are wearing through. I got ruby red tips and they look pink outside because the polish is so thin. Plus, the silver line underneath is uneven on half of my nails. I paid $45 Monday and they didn't want to fix them. They offered to file the longer nails but that would have ruined the snowflake on my ring finger. They also offered to fix the chipped nail and that was all they could do. I am still shocked they didn't offer to fix them all. I have gone here for three years and I will NEVER go back and recommend others don't if you want good, consistent service. I went to this VNails by accident. I was looking for a new place to get acrylic fills, and found a VNails on Pearl street that had pretty good reviews. Later, when I searched for VNails on my phone, it took me here. The staff are very nice and friendly. I had acrylics done that were too thick, and wanted to have them redone. Tracy was the lady who served me. She did soak my nails in acetone, but seemed rushed to get though even though they weren't that busy. It was so painful having the old nails removed I nearly cried. She would poke cuticle trimmers under the edge of the acrylic and lift, and she actually dug into my nail bed on my pinky finger. I am not very impressed with the quality, either. I asked for white tips with glitter, which I got, but the lines are not clean, there are jagged edges in the white and they're uneven. I like that they finish with gel on the top, but that's the only good thing that I can say about their work. It's too bad, too, because they seem like such nice people! I have been in the past and had decent service and since I needed a pedi/ mani desperately and my regular lady was unavailable, I decided to come in and pay Vnails another visit. The shop is cute still, they changed it up a little but the decor is still modern and the owner is the same lady, Tracy. The customer in here are from around the area, the shop being pretty large someone is always in there. That's always a good sign:) I advised that I had an ingrown and needed to ensure the manicurist about it and she tried but not to satisfaction. I'll give her an A for effort but I don't think she knows what to do, honestly. Other than that, the service was good. Prices a little higher than my go to place and they do more work. Today I walked into the V nails to get a Pedicure and a fill for birthday, it was the worst nail experience in my whole entire life! The guy that did my nails was so rough. He cut my fingers in 2 places. Literally, each and everyone of my nails were a different shape. So I complained, One of the Women working there (her name was Kim) told me that she will fix it. I let her, she did the best that she could but I still wasn't happy with my nails. They're still not the same shape and my fingers a Burning from all the chemicals. After she told me to wash my hands, she asked me to pay $43 for everything. I told her that I will pay for the pedicure but not the nails. She argued with me and told me that she wasn't going to put the color that I picked out on my nails because I wouldn't pay for the nails. So I paid for my pedicure and I walked out. The customer service was horrible there. It just seems like they didn't care about my situation and all they wanted was my money. I will never go back to that place. I am not someone who get pedicures on a regular basis but with a toddler sometimes you just have to treat yourself. I went to a few places before I found V Nails which is in my neighborhood somewhat tucked back behind a shopping center. I love this place. I love the decor. The customer service. Most importantly, I love Sharon MY nail technician. I get pedicures and they are heavenly. I love the hot stones, the calf massage and my polish lasts for weeks. She is a genuinely lovely person who was actually feels like a friend to me. When we moved back to Seattle for a year she was openly saddened but we are back in Tacoma and I am going to see her soon!! I can't say enough great things about this place. I used to get my nails down there a long time ago but I stopped because they kept getting new technicians that can't do nails. On Friday I went in to get my nails done Because someone bought me a gift certificate. The lady who started doing my pedi stopped and had some girl finish painting my toes that did a horrible job. Then when I went to get my mani and the Shellac which was suppose to be a perfect match was watered down. so I had to pick another color and get my toes redone. The technician obviously was new cause she was forgetting steps. I asked her and she acted like she couldn't understand me. She also had nail polish all over my cuticles and I had to keep asking her to get it all off. I let it go. About a hour later my nail polish was already coming off and shellac is suppose to last 1-2 weeks. So I called and they said they would fix it cause they found out it was a bad polish. All the lady did was repaint them and made a second coat which started peeling as soon as I got back home. They made a big deal about me coming back even though I was polite. read more

VNails salon could be a great place. On my visit it just seemed too caotic, too many people working on too many clients. I do like the owner, she is very sweet. But I didn't get a quality service. My nails look like a rush job, which they were... Chips in less than 24 hours in 4 of my nails already, not to mention the bubbles, globs and the uneveness of my nail polish. I'd say I got what I paid for... but not really. There are too many nail salons out there and Vnails need to really concentrate on the service aspect. After all this is supposed to be a relaxing luxury. Definitely left more stressed out! read more

This review is about the owner of this place not every manicurists here. I remember the first time I was here, my manicurist was very nice and attentive. Before I left, I asked her whether the place had shellac option, the poor lady was immediately chewed on by the owner in front of me for not doing a good marketing job (the shellac is more expensive). Fast forward a year, I came in for pedicure and shellac manicure with a friend today. I totally forgot that experience until I saw her hostile attitude towards another customer. I had existing shellac needed to be removed, she soaked my hands in a bowl full of acetone. I asked whether they have the foil option because it's less damaging, she said that option does not work as well and she does not know how to do it (I can do this at home any day). So because of my "demand", she was talking sh*t behind my back about me and other customers not knowing I understood Vietnamese. I waited till the end and told her I understood everything she said, she just stood up and never looked at me. That's a shameful experience considering I am Vietnamese too, but I think there is something to be said about customer service and integrity. I do not recommend this business because you are paying somebody who does not respect you for a crappy job. read more

I went with someone and we both got a manicure two days ago, and the shellac is already chipping for both of us. There were acrylic nails on the floor by my feet as I was getting my manicure. Additionally, there is a spot of a different color polish on one of my nails which I believe came from the hand of the lady who did my nails...in general this place is not as clean as it should be, and the employees talk to each other in their language and ignore their clients. Regarding the sub par manicure, I called and told them the problem with chipping, and they offered to fix it, but then I thought about the condition of the salon and I am just going to my usual place in a couple of days anyway. Rip off is what it boils down too...I GOT JACKED~ STRAIGHT UP! They got an A-frame sign right smack on the corner of 38th and Pacific. It advertised 30$ eyelashes so I thought "what the heck?" its so close to the house and so cheap.... I told the eager owner of this establishment I saw the sign and would like to get the eyelashes...she rushes me right in and Im layed out on the esthetician bed with tweezers in my face just minutes later. She tells me the different looks i can get never once mentioned any prices.....I figured it was 30$ LIKE THE SIGN SAYS. I tell her the look I am trying to achieve and she says no problem..."I make you look so beautiful" she says. Shes just about done with one eye then starts talking price, 100$ is what she was talking! I start to tell the woman with glue and tweezers only centimeters from my eyeball that I did not bring that type of cash and she starts catching an attitude and STOPPING COLD TURKEY in her tracks and then tells me "I no can finish if no money, this what you wanted and I do" "this the style you said you want and that the price" "The lashes you picked very expensive one" Let me just say-she was adamant about getting me for 100$ and also VERY ready to let me walk out of there with one eye done. I did not want to argue with someone with one eye done, so I tell her I may have some money on my debit card. I was livid and the lashes looked TERRIBLE! They were way too thick and bushy, it looked like I had fur growing on my lids....or a Chuck E Cheese doll maybe?! I don't know but this lady had me lookin' plain SILLY and felt even sillier letting her get over on me the way she did. I would normally go off, cause a scene and at least let all the customers in the salon know whom they are dealing with but I was on my way to Vegas with my new lashes that looked like crap so I didn't want to ruin my mood even more by going off. I swallowed my anger and left quietly but I drive by the place everyday and cant even stand to look at it. I get so angry just thinking about how that woman got over on me. I wish I would've taken a picture cause I could've at least gave you a great laugh. This was the worst gelish/shellac nails I've EVER encountered. They did not remove all the polish I had when I entered the shop, before applying the new polish which chipped and peeled within just a few days. When I went back four days later, with 3-4 nails completely without polish, the lady argued with me, when I was in their shop and wanted me to pay again for their misapplication! When I complained to a friend who was with me, the owner said "sh!t" and went back inside. Also, their "40 minute pedicure" was maybe 15 minutes, in cold water, and while they're gawking at me and discussing who-knows-what in their language. It's a beautiful language but nothing I share with them. After that they had me move to a table for one lady to paint my toe nails while the other requested I contort my body by bending at a 902 angle for her performed the poor shellac/gelish polish application, also while periodically checking out my engagement ring and snickering comments and they toe nail lady tried to sneak a peek a few times too. First two were by appt n i felt like they were in a rush, i was not satisfied with my nails and asked if they could redo one of my finger nails. They did. My last visit I came in as a walk in and i sat there for bout thirty mins. My only issue with this shop is that they make me remove my own polish (excuse me - not my job) and they are rude to their customers. We have faithfully gone here for the upward of 7 years even before it changed ownership. The customer service is horrible here. We usually make apts for pedi/ eyebrow. We wait & wait even with the apt! Then the owner gets rude when you check to find out what is the hold up! RUDE owner! That's why her employees feel they can disrespect you! Not once did the ladies engage in conversation with myself or my friend. They only spoke to each other the entire time. The lady who did my friends nails got mad when my friend would ask her to reshape a nail or remove extra polish on her skin. Second, a simple fill is $15-17 which is exactly what I went in for, but instead I was charged $35 just because I chose a certain color. Mind you when I asked she said it was fine she wouldn't charge me extra but lied and charged me anyways. I'm so upset with my visit I can barely type this review. I got my lash extensions here. I am IN LOVE!!!! They did a fantastic job, the lady who did it is Lani, very nice lady, gave me money off for getting my brows waxed, which she also did a great job on, because i got the lashes. BUT- know this. Just like at any place you go, you need to ask the right questions very specifically before you proceed. My friend took me here an told Me how affordable they were she said about $50. So we pull up, walk in, i say i want lashes and ask how much. She said $85, i said to my friend whoa... I thought you said $50? She said they are! And then asked another lady there, "they arent 85, why is she saying 85?" Then the two ladies talked to themselves in their language and she said no no, they are $55 and gave me a choice on 4 different lashes all for that price. So i picked the ones i wanted and went through the whole process. Like i said, i LOVE them!!! Lani did a great job and i have recommended this place to another friend. They gave my friend a deal for referring me and me for referring another friend. Its a bit of a drive for me, but its completely worth not Paying 75$+ for lashes. And not to mention fills are super cheap. But be very specific when you talk to them before you lay down and do it. ASK the right questions. Ask to see lash options and ask for each price, they are priced differently. Frankly if you dont and you get charged $100 for a set of lashes because you picked the most expensive ones and didnt ask the price, thats your bad, not theirs. read more

I came in & they were pretty busy, which for a Friday is expected. I asked the technician upfront if they would be able to do a particular nail design (accompanied by the design I was speaking of) which she hurriedly said yes and pointed to a station to sit. The pedicure went well, the technician that did it was very nice. I sat down at the nail station and showed a new technician the design & she again assured me she could. 20 mins in I see this is not the nail I've asked for. I pull up the picture again at which time she goes "oh!" (As if this is the 1st she saw of it). She starts over and the end result was mediocre to put it kindly. I pay my $60 + tip and leave. Half way home I look down and the gold has fallen off of my nail in a huge clump! (Mind you this is a GEL manicure) I turn around & head back, show the original technician who 1st said yes to my picture to which she explains, " every design isn't real, some are just stickers. Id like to start with, I've been going to this salon for about eight years. I've given them chance after chance only to be disappointed every time. The only person in the salon that does nails well is Kim, if you can't catch her you might as well leave. Aside from that, every little modification costs 5$ each minimum. You need a fill on longer nails? 15$ on top of the original price. You want your nails cut down? 10$ You want a design? 5$ PER NAIL. After getting a fill and being told it would be 30$ at the beginning, the lady (not Kim) asked for me to pay for my sub-par nails so I handed her my card and when she brought my receipt back she had charged me 40$. When I realized this, I asked for a refund of the 10 dollars, she said she couldn't do that but she could give me a gift certificate for the difference. I reluctantly agreed. Once I left I looked at the certificate and it was only for 5$. So I return one last time a couple weeks later for a pedicure and explain the certificate situation, after arguing with Kim for about 10 minutes she agrees that the certificate should be for 10$ (mind you she was there the last time I was in the salon when they over charged me) so I sit down and start my pedicure and then the lady says to will be 10$ extra to take off the polish, when I have never in my 8 years of going there been charged for that. At that point I dried my feet and walked out. Will probably never return, obviously they don't value customer service or a loyal customer! read more

I've been coming here for a few years and always loved it. I went last weekend and I was disgusted with how dirty this place has become. I mean, filthy. The girl that did my pedicure argued with me about cutting my toe nails. All she did was file them and I wanted them cut. Then she tried to charge me more to do do three colors of nail polish with no design. I left with rough feet, no top coat, and they tried to charge me $7 over what I wanted in the first place. Holly is the best! For the past few months I've had a bad ingrown toenail. It hurt enough that I could barely touch it. My wife recommended I go here and have "Holly" take care of it. For $25 ($30 after tip) I had a good pedicure by one of the staff, then Holly (their boss) came over - and with several other staff members gathered around cringing - she fixed it.
