They have three tablet kiosks for self-ordering, and it's an intuitive UI, so the process was simple. Once I made my decision from their extensive list of options and combinations, it took me maybe 2 minutes from start to finish to build and submit my order. I ordered a large taro milk tea and it was everything I had hoped for. Flavorful, not too sweet, and the tapioca was a wonderful consistency. My only thing was that it was so busy and loud that the staff were unable to continuously call out when orders were complete, or you couldn't hear them. I eventually went up to the bar, noticed my drink had been sitting a few minutes, yelled over, "This is mine, thanks!!" Smiled, and then grabbed it. Beyond that? It was absolutely a great experience.

Probably my favorite boba shop yet!! Right near the Hynes T and near Berklee college.

They offer four types of ice cream: matcha, hojicha, ube, and yuzu. There are flavor restrictions (see menu) for mixes, but you can have any combination. A cup costs $7.75 and is enough for two people. Matcha Soft Served Ice Cream: It looked ordinary, but the taste was authentic and pure, with a rich, bitter and fragrant aroma. For most palates, it might even be a bit too bitter. According to the shop, they use matcha from Harima Garden播磨園, Uji宇治. The texture was also very smooth. Ube Soft Served Ice Cream: After seeing the annual "Art in Bloom", I felt the taro flavor was more suitable for the blooming flowers of spring. Spring should be sweet, not bitter! It also had a very pure and natural flavor, not too sweet, but very fragrant. Its texture was a bit smoother than the matcha one. I'd love to try the parfait and drinks next time! However, you need to pick up your food at the counter yourself, and it gets crowded and chaotic on weekends.

I came around noon on a Friday, and there was a steady line throughout my time there, but it moved quickly. They also offer other dishes, like vermicelli bowls, which looked delicious. I'll have to try that another time! A great spot for banh mi and Vietnamese food. Will definitely be back!

Not knowing this the first time my husband and I visited Boston (in 2021), Dorchester has a large Vietnamese community (funny thing was we were staying at an Airbnb in this city and had no idea). But later on found out when my husband was looking where to eat for lunch. We ended up loving Ba Le Dorchester so much that we came twice during our visit to Boston. Upon these visits, we ended up ordering: Banh Da Lon, $4 prior to tax- I love these layer jello like cakes. This one has flavors of pandan and coconut. It also had the right amount of sweetness too, by not being too sweet. Banh Mi Dac Biet (Special Combination), $7.01 prior to tax- My husband ended up ordering this sandwich twice (on both of our visits). I am not a big banh mi person so I didn't have any but he really liked it. Banh Cuon, $7.95 prior to tax- Rice rolls are one of my favorite things. We ended up ordering 2 different versions of these (on 2 separate visits). One with the ground pork and mushroom filling that also included slices of Vietnamese pork sausage. But on our second visit, we got an order made with shrimp filling. Portion size is more than plenty for 2 people to share and both were cooked perfectly. Goi Cuon, $6.08 prior to tax- Spring rolls is another favorite Vietnamese dish of mine and so I decided to get these that were filled with shrimp. An order of this came with 3 spring rolls and a large side of peanut sauce. After seeing a baking sheet on the wall with Guy Fieri' face, I found out that Guy Fieri visited this eatery with his son for his show Diners Drive Ins and Dives, which aired on November 15, 2024 Service was friendly and quick on both visits. I love that you can grab some premade items before heading to the register but you can also order them to be made fresh at the register. There is a small seating area towards the opposite side of the register. There is also a clean single toilet, unisex, bathroom in this seating area as well. This eatery takes both credit card and cash as payment. Parking is just along the curb. If you aren't able to find parking, you might be able to park around the corner, where we parked the first time we came. Everything that we had was delicious and would come back here again if visiting Boston.
