    Honey Lemonade
    Grace V.

The honey lemonade was delicious! I loved it with the boba. The inside of the place was cozy and had cool decorations on the walls. The one complaint I have is that the entrance was not accessible at all. The step was loose and it was hard to navigate going in. If I didn't have the door to hold onto, I would have tripped! I am visually impaired and there was no contrast with the steps either. But overall, I had a good experience.

    Taro Milk Tea

My least favorite Kung Fu Tea location. We got the most popular flavor, a large taro milk tea with less ice and less sugar with plain boba. What we received didn't look or taste like taro milk tea. We confirmed if it was really taro and they said yes. We assume they made it with black tea and so the color was off but it also just tasted like brown sugar milk tea. I don't know what was 'taro' about it. The 'less sugar' was still so sweet that IDK what full sugar would be. On top of that, the boba was sweetened. Like, why? Why should regular boba be that sweet? It was a sugar rush for sure, but not what we ordered.

Entrance to Kung Fu Tea Symphony Massachusetts Ave. Boston

My mother enjoys her taro milk tea at Kung Fu Tea. I've noticed a couple of ongoing issues that really need attention. First, the bricks at the entrance are loose and scattered, which is a major safety concern. It has been like this for over a year and getting worse. My mother uses a wheelchair, and it's extremely difficult--and even dangerous--for her to get inside safely. It's disappointing that accessibility hasn't been better addressed. I've brought it to the attention of the staff and they are dismissive. Second, there have been times when we've come during posted business hours only to find a handwritten "on break" sign and the store temporarily closed. I totally understand that employees need breaks, but there should be better communication or staffing to avoid this kind of surprise for customers. I'm sharing this in the hopes that it helps improve the experience for everyone--especially those with mobility challenges.

Solid boba spot. They sometimes make mistakes with the orders (missing boba in a hot drink, wrong ice level) but the people are really nice here, and I like their drinks a lot, so I just come and risk it :) My go-to is the wintermelon green milk tea. I think the shop extended their hours, so now they are open until 11 pm, which I appreciate!

I've enjoyed KFT at many other locations but this store was only so-so for me. While my wintermelon green milk tea was nicely flavored, the boba was rather hard and undercooked in the center. Service was prompt but not particularly friendly - perhaps I visited on an off day. On the plus side, this store has a bright, spacious interior with ample seating. And by paying through the Kung Fu Tea app, you can get a free drink after two purchases and frequent deals like free toppings or discounted drinks. I may come back if there's a really good drink deal and I'm in the area, but will otherwise opt for other boba shops in Newbury and Chinatown.

So if you're sick of pictures of me And the legs and high heels of Barbie There's one antidote Get some balls in your throat Get Lemon Black at Kung Fu Tea! I have a massive soft spot for this Kung Fu Tea because it was the first one I ever tried in Boston, and coming to Boston was seminal (not semenal, that was New York), and it was my first stop for Boba in town, and I loved it. That's because it's right near the gym which I like to use when I'm in Boston - about 5 minutes walk from this store, which makes it even more awesome. And Que Sera, Sera Whatever will be, will be The future is Kung Fu Tea Que Sera, Sera What to get: Lemon Black Tea With Tapioca! Or: All the fruit teas are pretty good, especially if you go off menu and get black tea! Or: Go crazy and order your fruit teas with the very strong Oolong! Or in winter: Any of the hot milk teas! Which milk teas are best: Honey Oolong! Oolong! Maybe Taro or Almond! I also love the regular milk tea with Oreo! Service was nice and the place was absolutely packed wall-to-wall with people, which made it even more nice. I like to be in busy places, it makes me feel ever so slightly alive. The lemon black tea was definitely tasty, and the decor is awesome, imaginative, bright and adorable, even in the bathrooms. I love the neon blue lighting, it reminds me of Barbie or a red light district (same thing really). I'm surprised to say this is probably my favourite Kung Fu Tea location in Boston - and believe me I tried all of them - probably because of the decor, the popularity, but the fact that it's not claustrophobic and is in a great area. Way bigger than it looks on the outside, for sure, just like Barbie's, oh man is that the time, better wrap up this review. While the menu is entirely vegetarian with many vegan options, it feels approachable whether you are looking for a healthy lunch, a filling dinner, or just a smoothie or coffee. We walked into the Back Bay location, which has a bright, inviting interior filled with natural light, plants, and plenty of seating, creating a calm atmosphere that feels more like a neighborhood café than a typical fast-casual restaurant. The design is modern and clean, with a warm energy that makes it the kind of place where you can enjoy a meal at your own pace, meet a friend, or even spend some time working. The grain and noodle bowls are the main reason to visit. They are built around fresh vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and flavorful sauces that make each bowl feel substantial without being overly heavy. We appreciated that every ingredient tasted fresh, and the different textures kept each bite interesting. The spicy peanut noodles are one of the standout dishes, combining chewy noodles with crisp vegetables and a rich, savory sauce that has just enough heat without overwhelming the rest of the flavors. The falafel is another solid choice, with a crispy exterior and soft interior that pairs well with the fresh vegetables and creamy sauces. Beyond the bowls, there is a good variety of options depending on what you are in the mood for. The menu includes açaí bowls, salads, wraps, soups, smoothies, fresh juices, and coffee, making it easy to stop by at almost any time of day. The menu also changes with seasonal ingredients, giving returning visits some variety while still keeping the café's focus on fresh, healthy food. Even if you are not vegetarian, the meals are filling enough that they never feel like they are missing anything. The café itself has a relaxing atmosphere that encourages you to stay a while. The modern design, abundance of plants, and comfortable seating make it feel much more welcoming than many grab-and-go lunch spots in the area. The ordering process is straightforward, and the staff were friendly throughout our visit. During busier lunch hours, food can take a little longer to prepare since everything is made to order, so keeping that in mind is worth it if you are on a tight schedule. The seating area stays comfortable even when the café fills up, and the energy of the room remains calm and focused. Life Alive Organic Cafe stands out because it proves that healthy food can still be satisfying and full of flavor. The fresh ingredients, diverse menu, and comfortable atmosphere make it an easy place to return to whether you are looking for a quick lunch, a lighter dinner, or simply a break from heavier meals. If you are in Back Bay and want a meal that feels nourishing without sacrificing taste, this is a café well worth adding to your list.

It was PACKED when I got there, so I understand what creates a long wait if you order in person. The space itself is very pretty and colorful which I liked a lot. The food. It was...meh. It was really chewy and gritty. I got the eggplant and mushroom bowl. I am saying this as someone who loves eggplants and mushrooms, they were just ok. It was kinda goopy, and then being paired with the crispy rice it was just a weird mouth feel. As for the flavor- they drowned it in that sauce which overpowered everything. The price point is really good for lunch in boston, but honestly I wouldn't get it again.

We walked into a relaxed space with a consistently friendly and engaged staff, making the experience feel more personal than a typical fast casual stop. The acai bowl is the foundation of the menu and it delivers reliably, with the base thick enough to hold the toppings without turning into soup partway through. The Nutella bowl is the most popular order, and the combination of the rich spread against the acai base works in a way that feels indulgent without completely undermining the healthier premise of the meal. The mango bowls are a lighter, brighter option for anyone who wants something less earthy than the acai, and the Nica Bowl is another solid choice for a more composed build. The customization options are generous and the staff is helpful in steering you toward combinations that work if you are unsure where to start. Prices land in the eleven to thirteen dollar range, which is on the higher side for the format, though the quality of the fruit and the portion sizes make it feel reasonable once you are eating it. For a post workout meal or a lighter lunch option near Northeastern, Playa Bowls is an easy and reliable choice.

The lettuce looked old, the tomatoes weren't ripe, and although I asked for it to be cut in half, it wasn't. The quality was so poor that I ended up throwing it away. During that first visit, I asked one of the employees if he was the manager. He said he wasn't, but that he "should be." A few days later, I decided to give them another chance. The cashier was pleasant, so I tipped--but the experience quickly went downhill. I ended up speaking with the same employee who was there during my first visit, working behind the counter. He was a male in his mid-to-late 20s with facial hair and said his name was "Jack," although based on his rude behavior, I have no reason to believe that was his real name. After speaking with him, I now understand exactly why he isn't--and shouldn't be--the manager. When I explained my previous experience, he responded, "I really don't care." I was shocked. He repeated it multiple times, was rude, snapped at another employee, and refused to provide any manager or corporate contact information. At that point, I lost my appetite. After leaving the establishment, I gave the sandwich away and fed the lemon bread to the pigeons. The only bright spot was the cashier and another female employee, who were both polite and professional. Even as I was leaving, they kindly said, "Thank you, have a nice day," and seemed sincere. Unfortunately, one person's behavior completely ruined the experience. I will not be returning and would not recommend this location.
