IF YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE READING ALL OF THIS JUST KNOW THE. IMPORTANT PARTS -April is fabulous and I will continue going to her for as long as she will take me -the cost for my medium length hair to get cut and colored was $135 -they took me in the day I called (and it was my first time at this salon and the day before new years eve) -they had great phone etiquette, were very warm and inviting greetings and were very welcoming to a new customer -great if your looking for a cozy salon! For new years I wanted a new do, but my hairdresser of 15 years just passed away. (I work on main st. Pleasanton and all the time I am told about how great this salon was) so i called them up the day before new years eve. On the phone I was told by the owners mother, Denise that a gal named April could take me in THAT DAY! I was a bit skeptical since It normally takes weeks to get an apt where I normally go, but I was excited to try something new. As you walk up to what looks like the porch of a house you are greeted by an inviting atmosphere, the lighting was just right, they offer you tea, coffee or water, it was simply a pleasurable start to what will now be a life long connection. I was greeted and immediately sat down with April. She was kind and gentile as she combed through the consultation with ease. I am a very picky person and very indecisive at the same time, so I somehow expect April to know exactly what I'm thinking without even saying it. And she did! It was a two our process of a color and cut. While April was blowing me out she talked about how to style my hair cut at home while still looking fresh and fabulous! I must say this is the best haircut I have ever gotten and I have referred everyone I know to go and see her including my customers! IF YU CALL TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT BE SURE TO TELL APRIL JESSICA H SENT YOU !!! read more

Review for Alli Have always been a person who went to sports clips because I was a guy and felt that I didn't belong in a salon. This all changed when I went to see Alli at Salon Vivace. The vibes were great and Alli did an amazing job tapering my side part hair style! Plus how could I not accept a beer while I get my haircut. Have all my friends going there now, so I recommend you do as well! read more

I have been following Denise Oxen (owner of Salon Vivace) for 20 years, Wherever she goes I go. Now she has created her own Salon. It's actually be around for many years. Denise is amazing! A true artist! I find the best hairdressers are! After she does my hair I receive dozens of compliments. She is also very birght and kind. Very enjoyable to talk to. I recommend her highly. If you have not seen it yet... check out the Salon itself! Beautiful! Another mark of Denise's artistry! read more

I hate writing bad reviews, but this just wasn't okay! I went to this salon to bleach my hair. It had not bleached it before. I got there on time and had to wait 30 minutes bc my stylist, Savannah, had overbooked herself. Right in the middle of bleaching my hair, Savannah walked away as she was called into the other room. She was gone for what felt like 15-20 minutes. She then returned and finished bleaching the rest of my hair. Well, that portion of my hair turned ice white and FELL OUT later. Savannah and her coworker both asked me, "Are you happy with this?" twice when I was almost finished. I was confused bc I was at the time, I had no idea about the back of my head... it wasn't until I got home and I flipped my hair over in the back that I began to realize that the portion of hair she had started on and walked away in the middle of was FRIED. she bleached my hair so bad that other stylists I've gone to suggested I cut my hair to a pixie cut or wait a year to grow it out. What really upsets me is I got charged $100 more than what I was originally told too. read more

Vivace - Very satisfied customer with my hair cut by Taylor at the salon. The absolute best stylist I have ever had. - Hair Salons Near Me - Pleasanton, California

I live in Fremont and so drove about an hour in traffic to get here but let me just start off by saying, it was totally worth it. I got my hair cut by April, who is really sweet and helpful. I came into my appointment with a loose idea of what I wanted but nothing concrete. I have always had pretty standard hair cuts and this time, I really wanted to do something different for me. She helped me shape my ideas into a hair style that would fit my tastes, style, and lifestyle and brought it to reality. The salon itself is very cute and ornate, which really suits my tastes. I don't get my hair cut too often, so it's a bit of a pampering thing for me. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and definitely a girl's dream. Now for the only negative aspect of my entire experience: I had to wait for and hour and a half after my original appointment time to get my hair cut. To be fair, I don't think this will happen to anyone else. My appointment had been made at an unusual time in the evening, below the normal window of appointments shown on their screen. Thusly, April didn't see my slot in the schedule and so accepted someone else who I am supposing was a walk in thinking she didn't have anymore appointments for the day. I appreciate her being so courteous, accommodating, and not rushing through my cut (staying until 9 pm to finish my hair). I want to stress that this is 5 STARS FOR APRIL herself, just 4 stars for the salon system letting something like this happen. I will definitely be coming back, I really am in love with my hair and the whole place. read more

Vivace - Taylor is hands down the best stylist in the game! - Hair Salons Near Me - Pleasanton, California

I just wanted to update this after a year of frequenting Salon Vivace. Fantastic! Rachel (one of the owners with her mom Denice) is amazing! She is absolutely up to speed on all the latest techniques and styles and has a great customer demeanor. The place itself is set in an old downtown home that is decorated very tastefully and makes you feel welcome. It's not uncommon to see the staff out on the front porch on summer evenings enjoying a beverage. Any stylist lucky enough to join their team is immediately treated to one of the best locations and friendly owners approach to pampering their guests. Best of all is the pricing...I simply do not know why they hold them so low especially compared to other downtown salons that really don't hold a candle to Salon Vivace....if you haven't tried them out do yourself the favor. read more

This review is for Taylor Herne! Not only is she an amazing hair stylist, but she is always talkative, friendly, and fun to be around. She always listens to what I want (I like to change my hair up frequently) and the results exceed my expectations every time. After trying out several stylists in the Bay Area, she is hands down the best! 11/10 recommend to anyone looking for a new stylist and a great atmosphere. Rachel has magic hands. I know its cliche to say that I walked out of the salon feeling like a movie star but its so true. I usually never do anything drastically different to my hair because I am a bit of a chicken but Rachel put longer layers in front of my hair. Needless to say I could not be happier with how my hair turned out. Feeling like a movie star with my new hair, watch out Hollywood. I highly recommend Salon Vivance and the ladies that work there. And what girl doesn't like to get her nails done? Parris Hodges does manicures and nail art at the salon. Saying that she is talented is an understatement. Follow Pams and Kin on instagram to look at that amazing nail art. It is utterly mind blowing. read more

This salon is very quaint and charming. The seats and swing on the front porch are super cute... I was tempted to just sit out there while I waited for my appointment. The inside of the salon is real posh but feels warm and inviting altogether. There are separate rooms, so it doesn't feel like a salon entirely, but more like a home where you can have a private hair session and catch up on "girl talk" with your stylist without an audience. They have a whole bowl of chocolate kisses to dip into, the Only thing missing was the champagne! ;) I had my hair cut by Connie, who has been doing my aunt's hair for years. My aunt's hair always looks great, so she told me to try out Connie and see how I like her. Connie is super sweet and let's just say I'll be back to see her again! I love my long layers and love even more how thick and bouncy my hair looks and feels. Maybe next time I'll even get some color. Thanks Connie! :) read more

Review is for Taylor: AMAZING hair stylist. My previous hair gal left to be a full time mommy and was very hesitant to go to anyone else. I am extremely extremely picky and cautious due to previous hair experiences. Taylor is absolutely amazing. Immensely knowledgeable about product and color and knows exactly what she is doing. Completely trust my hair in her hands. Salon itself is absolutely adorable and great location downtown. All the staff is very personable and makes you feel very comfortable when there! Highly recommend Salon Vivace! read more

This 100 year-old historic home looks as inviting from the outside as you are treated when inside! Everyone is friendly and the the way they have the shop set up makes you feel like you've stepped into a swanky place that only a star would experience! Passing through the white picket fence and making your walk up the covered porch gives you a feeling of an era long gone. The porch swing is inviting and to see the ladies who work there sitting in it and chatting between customers gives it a home feeling. I've been going to Connie for years and followed her from her previous shop and love the new atmosphere that she is in. I have never left disappointed and her sunny personality is a huge plus. I trust no one with my hair and having her cut and style in this Victorian home makes me feel even more glamorous when I leave. read more

The moment you walk up, you are taken by its quaint, inviting exterior. As you walk up you enter through a white picket fence past nicely trimmed plant life, up a walkway to a large porch (complete with a porch swing). The interior is just as beautiful with dark wood and elegant design touches. The space kind of weaves around so you don't get to see the whole space at once. More importantly, the service was perfect. I called Alana with a time crunch on when I needed my hair cut, and she worked with my schedule and fit me in. I normally go to another hairstylist, but I had heard such great things about her work that I went in confident she would make me look great. I was not disappointed. She is such a sweetheart and so talented. I love my haircut. It is exactly what I wanted. I would go back again any time. read more

Love this quaint house that is more like a home than a hair salon. However, nothing can take the place of top notch hair stylists, great color and fabulous cuts. I was not so happy when my stylist went on vacation and then I ended up finding out they only hire great stylists. I was VERY satisfied that the stylist that did my hair did a fabulous job too. What can I say here but the truth: People stop me and ask me where I have my hair done~Salon Vivace of course This is a fact and I am just a client and a very happy one~try it and you will be glad you did! read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!! DO NOT GO HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!! Went in for a haircut and treatment and left in tears. My hair looks so bad it is hard to be able to leave the house. Vivace - Hair Salons Near Me - Pleasanton, California

I absolutely recommend Salon Vivace. I went in this week to go from long hair to a pixie cut. Taylor (my stylist) was very attentive to what I wanted and even went back in afterwards for areas that I wasn't sure about. The haircut is a little higher maintenance than I would have liked (hence the 4 stars, but maybe that's unfair). The style is great though, "very sophisticated" says my mom. The price was really good ($43 for a cut), and Taylor spent a full hour with me despite having a busy day! The salon itself is super cute and feels more intimate than most salons. Will definitely go back. read more

I'm extremely picky about my hair . . . I have been getting a shampoo blow-dry once or, twice a week for the last 18 years. My regular stylist is in Fremont and with the traffic problem in the Bay Area, getting to her and back was becoming a serious issue. For that reason, I began searching for an alternative stylist in Pleasanton where I live. I went to several salons in Pleasanton until I was referred to Taylor and after the first blowout, I knew I had found my person. She listened to what I wanted, spent 5-10 minutes watching a video of how I liked having my hair done and followed the instructions down to the letter. I love, love her!! Now, if I could just get an appointment with her anytime I call, it would solve all my problems:-(( read more

First of all I never yelp or rate anything but I find it absolutely necessary to give a shout out to this amazing salon!! My teenage daughter had her hair done at another salon and lets just say the person did not know what they were doing. We showed up at Vivace hoping someone could help us out. Vivace not only helped us out but squeezed us in the same day! Taylor was absolutely amazing - she has an amazing talent with color and was very knowledgeable about what needed to be done! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! read more

This was the first time I was coloring my hair, so I was pretty nervous about the results. My stylist, Alli was very informative in terms of the Balayage I was going for and made sure the colors were exactly what I wanted. A full Balayage seemed pricey to me at first, but seeing how much detail, effort, and quality is put into my hair showed it was well worth the money. The results were wonderful and I was very satisfied the moment she finished up blow drying my hair! I will definitely continue coming to Vivace to maintain my new colors. Thank you for a great first experience! read more

I went to Salon Vivace for hair and make up for a special event. Jessica cut and styled my hair and did a fabulous job!! She also introduced me to Kevin Murphy wash and rinse....LOVE these products!! Macy did my make up. I asked for an everyday look, not too overdone. I was very happy with it! I wish I could look that good everyday :) I highly recommend Salon Vivace. It's a beautiful, comfortable salon. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating and made me feel at home. I WILL be back! read more

Review for Alli: Great hair stylists are everywhere, but coming from someone who is INCREDIBLY picky about the color blonde in my hair, I know that good ones are very hard to find! I found Alli after my hair stylist moved away and I do not regret my decision to see her! She was incredibly thorough in identifying exactly what I wanted, both for color and hair cut style. I fell in love with my new hair style, and for the first time in a looong time, I've been so happy with my hair!! I would say, to sum it all up, she is a miracle worker and is incredibly talented. If you're super picky, like myself, and would love a stylist who is both very personable, and beyond skilled and talented, call and make your appointment with Alli! read more

I've been seeing Rachel at Salon Vivace for over a year and a half, 2 years this fall! I can't say enough good things about everyone at Salon Vivace. First, Rachel takes her time, listens to you and is extremely professional. She keeps herself and her team updated on all of the new trends and products in the industry which reflects in their work. Rachel is an incredibly talented hair artist (I call her that because she is so much more than a hair stylist or dresser) and she invests in her employees so they are able to replicate all those Pinterest pictures that you've been pinning on your Beauty board! Rachel and her team also took care of me and my bridal party on my wedding day last June and that was a perfect experience. We had them open the salon on a Sunday just for our party and they served mimosas while getting a group of 7 women picture perfect. If you are thinking about making an appointment, JUST DO IT ALREADY. You won't be sorry. Rachel is amazing, so is Missy and Savannah...but check out their Instagram (vivace_ptown) account and see for yourself. Thank you ladies for all that you do to help us ladies (and gents) feel and look our best! read more

LOVE Salon Vivace! I had one of those tragic instances where my hairdresser of 10 years moved away!!! I was so afraid of anyone else cutting my hair, and I shopped around for the right salon for 6-8months. Finally I found Vivace! The location is in the heart of quaint, Downtown Pleasanton, in the most adorable house you've ever seen. The vibe inside is so chic and elegant. Perhaps it's because the location is a home, but you instantly feel part of the family. The whole staff is super welcoming and helpful, but it's Savannah who is really special! She is so knowledgable about all things hair, and just the sweetest person. She was able to read my hair-ology and figure out what I've been doing wrong, and how to fix it. I can honestly say, since seeing Savannah, my hair has become SO much thicker and shiny. She is a joy to work with, and I am so glad I found her. I also can't rave enough about their featured line of product, KEVIN MURPHY. It can be a little pricey, but every time you spend money on products, a portion of the total goes into a fund for the next month that you can use towards your next appointment. These products have changed my life. No joke read more

I just want to start by saying I am so thankful I found this place and especially Savannah! She is honestly the best hair stylists there! She is so patient and kind and is willing to work with you until you achieve EXACTLY what you want ! She is super kind and sweet and honestly I can't imagine ever going to anyone else. I've had a lot of previous hair traumas as it is hard to go from dark brown to a pretty bleach/golden blonde and Sav literally killed it, here is some before and after pictures of when my hair was died by a previous hair stylist at a different salon who attempted to dye my hair from dark brown to blonde but it turned orange and I was so upset but thanks to Savannah she helped me achieve exactly what I wanted. I am obsessed with my hair because of her. The picture with dark hair is what I started out with and the picture with my hair in a pony tail is the old stylist who really messed it up and turned it an ugly burnt orange brown and the last two pics are what sav turned my hair to I love it so much because of her. Thank you. Everyone should go to her. read more

My daughter recommended Taylor at Salon Vivace and since her hair always looks good, I took her advice. I've had Taylor cut my hair a few times and last time I got color. Love her work! I've got very thin hair and Taylor makes mine look much thicker. She also did a great job on my color. The shop is so cute and a block or two off main st. The rest of the staff is very welcoming. I trust No ONE with my hair except for Marissa "Missy"! I have exceptionally curly hair and LOTS of it! I've had my share of crazy experiences, enough to scar me for life. But I feel safe with her. She is talented, confident and sweet! She also signs to boot which makes it so much more pleasurable for me. My mom had an appointment at a certain time. She was waiting ten minutes for a stylist, not even being noticed, and people were just staring at her. The people who worked there didn't approach her and didn't offer anything. They are ignorant, careless, and disrespectful and way too overpriced! They don't deserve business and they just care about the money! She called to make a reservation, and the girl hanged up on her! How rude! I give them zero stars! read more

I started going to Salon Vivace almost a year ago and have been with Lisa for about 7-8 months now. She is amazing! She did my hair and makeup for my wedding and it looked beautiful and stayed put all day/night. Lisa is reasonably priced and always does such a good job matching my color to my skin tone - it always looks natural and flattering. The salon is cozy and welcoming - I'm always offered something to drink. The product lines carried are all high quality and offered at a variety of price points. Based on appearance alone, I initially thought that it was going to cost me an arm and a leg to get my hair done at Salon Vivace so I avoided trying them out for years. I'm so happy I switched over and I honestly cannot say enough about the salon and Lisa. read more

I love coming here! Walking up to the salon feels like you're entering an enchanted cottage :) The inside has a cozy, homey feel, and I'm always greeted warmly with smiles and tea. Booking is easy, and my appointments have always started on time or early. Alli is THE BEST! Before finding her at Vivace, I had gone from dark brown, to VERY light blonde, then short, and finally keratin-bond extensions. My hair was damaged, thinned, and just would not get longer. Alli has been guiding me on my journey back to long natural hair; she expertly tones out my brassiness, trims regularly, and gives me awesome product and style advice. I love that she listens to my goals, and provides personalized service. My hair is so much longer and healthier! Alli, like many of the other stylists, is so friendly, and I feel nothing but warmth and positivity at this salon! read more

I have had good experiences here but today was absolutely awful. I had a financial thing go on and asked how much something cost. My stylist told me and it was too expensive to do for me so I just got a cut. The entire time she was sassy, rude and didn't even try to talk to me.
