I had my hair done with Sarah Cavendar and showed her pictures of what I normally get and even my colors. I am new to the area. She did nothing like I showed her. I was embarrassed to go anywhere with the terrible colors. I asked her if she could fix it please, and she became very defensive and started yelling at me in front of everyone. I have never in my life had such terrible hair done, or treated with such disrespect. The salon will not fix it and I spent a lot of money. They won't fix it or give me a refund. Do not go here. I recently got a haircut at Salon 77 West in Pleasanton, and it was, without exaggeration, the worst haircut experience I've ever had. My stylist was Patricia Gallegos. I went in with long, shoulder-length hair that I'd spent a long time growing out. I made it very clear upfront that I hated haircuts and I wanted my hair like the reference. I even provided multiple photos--one of myself with the style I wanted and another as a reference. It was supposed to be more of a trim if anything with some shaping to enhance my natural texture, not a transformation. Instead, Patricia brushed out my curly/wavy hair before washing it, which completely distorted my texture, which I've never had done before a haircut, really doesn't make much sense to me why you would do that. After that, she proceeded to cut off an extreme amount of length without checking in with me. By the time I realized what was happening, the sides and back had already been hacked off--and I mean hacked. The end result: my hair now sits above my ears, the cut is uneven and shapeless, the sides are frizzy from being left at an awkward length, and there's zero flow or layering. It looks nothing like the photos I showed her or the style we discussed. When I told her how far off it was from what I asked for, she got visibly shaken and couldn't even respond. She fumbled through her phone, presumably trying to find the picture I'd shown her, and said nothing--because she knew she had messed up. I was stunned and honestly mortified. She kept asking me for input, but at that point, there was nothing that could be done. The damage was done. Though I wasn't charged for the service, I'm now stuck having to style my hair every day just to make it look halfway decent, which defeats the entire point of the low-maintenance, natural look I had before. The worst part? The owner responded to my Google review with a robotic "learning opportunity" message that completely missed the point. If this had happened to a woman--if her long hair had been chopped off into a frizzy, unmanageable, uneven mess without consent--would that be all she received? A "we'll do better next time"? My hair shouldn't be a stylist's learning experience, especially when I made my expectations so clear and gave multiple photos. If Patricia wasn't comfortable with the cut, she should've said something. That's what a professional does. This wasn't just a bad haircut--it was a complete disregard for my input, my trust, and my time. I'd strongly advise any man or someone with textured hair--or honestly anyone who cares about their appearance--to think twice before trusting this salon. read more
