Unfortunately I will not be returning to this salon and now have to get it corrected by a different salon because my dye job was nothing like what I wanted. Wanted an ashy dark brown with highlights and got reddish-brown/copper everywhere, can't even look at myself in the mirror without crying. Long story short, I paid over $200 on my short hair for her to ruin my color, re-do it and still didn't get it right. At that point I just wanted to get out immediately. Now have to pay another $200 to fix it somewhere else. Saddened to hate my hair, I just want to Edit-Undo and go back to my natural :( confidence killer :( Update: They obviously don't care about their customers either considering I left this review a month ago and no one ever tried to contact me to remedy the situation or my hair which I hate. Thanks. read more

I'm relatively new to Dublin/Pleasanton and after trying out several different hair salons with less than impressive results, I found Salon Vivace and cannot say enough positive things about my experience. I scheduled an appointment with Ali, and she is truly amazing! Though she's young, she's more knowledgeable about the business and knows how to give an excellent cut than any stylist I've met with many more years of experience. I always leave with a spectacular cut, and Ali is always upbeat, offers excellent hair advice and is fun to talk to. I would like to add that my experience was so positive, I immediately scheduled a hair appointment for my Mother, she loved her new style and has received many compliments. To note: my Mother has a long history of never being happy with her hair, yet she now loves her cut. Also, the salon itself is very comfortable and inviting. I'm so happy I found this place and highly recommend Ali and the business to anyone! read more

I have never had a bad experience with Salon Vivace or Taylor! Everyone is so welcoming and amazing and I feel like family here!! Taylor has been the best and listens to exactly what I want every time! I won't let anyone else do my hair now because Taylor is so great! Come see Taylor or anyone at the vivace team if you are looking for someone new!!! read more

Salon Vivace and Caris are the only ones I trust with my hair. This quaint little renovated home fitted with hair stations in each room, around the corner from the Meadowlark Dairy is the perfect hair salon. The women are all sweet and professional. They are edgy without being intimidating and will give you their honest opinion about what will look good for you. My cut and color by Caris always gets me compliments and I love it! If you're looking for a new stylist I highly recommend Salon Vivace. read more

Savannah has changed my life! After 26 years with the same hair stylist I found myself without anyone to do my hair, as my stylist closed her shop. I was at an absolute loss of where to go and who to trust with my hair. I was apprehensive, but after a recommendation from my daughter, came to Salon Vivace and met Savannah. The salon itself is absolutely lovely. It has a classy yet homey vibe that screams family and professional. Savannah met me with recommendations on subtle changes I should make in color as well as product. Within one visit, I was hooked on Savannah's skills and the Kevin Murphy line she had me try. As I was born with fine, thin hair, the cut and products brought new life that I never anticipated. For the first time in years, I love my hair! Thank you Salon Vivace and thank you Savannah! You are talented and I feel blessed to have found you! read more

Had my hair done by Tiffany - loved it! She was understanding of my needs and delivered on them. The girls at the front were sweet and quick. I'd recommend looking through the work of the stylists and see who would fit your needs/style the best. But, most of the finished work by others looked great! read more

Missy is AWESOME! She is a master colorist and hairstylist. She always listens to her clients and makes sure that they are happy with the outcome. I've had my hair cut, colored and styled by Missy for the past two years. And let me tell you, she was born to do hair! The ambience at Salon Vivace is wonderful - its in a historical house in downtown Pleasanton. The decor is shabby chic slash flea market and it is just so stylish. Highly recommend!!! read more

Review for Missy: Missy is AMAZING. She is incredibly talented colorist. I've gotten my hair ombré and she made it exactly the way I wanted it. Ash-blonde that received compliments everywhere I went. Even in Paris! She's is definitely my go-to person. read more

I have been going to my hair godess is Gretchen Yimbo for over 9 years and I LOVE her. She does a fantastic job and is great at coloring and hilites. She is very articulate and puts everything into her work. When I want to change my color from time to time and always nails the color I want everytime. This is a great place to come if you're looking for a change or you don't like the current place you're at. You'll LOVE it! read more

From the minute you walk through the gate onto the porch there is a feeling of home. You walk in and you are greeted by a friendly staff who checks on you frequently to ensure you are comfortable. The salon itself has so much character and has the cutest ambiance. Now to the hair part. Alana is everything. She is fun, easy to talk to, and knows her stuff when it comes to hair! I told her exactly what I wanted and she did exactly that. It was such a fun experience and I can't imagine going anywhere else now that I have been to Salon Vivace. If I knew about this place sooner I would have started coming a LONG time ago. Love this place! read more

My stylist was Tiffany. What a find. She was professional as well as easy to chat with. She paid attention to what style I was looking for and cut with such detail. She actually gave me a lesson on how to use the curling iron so that I could create the current fashionable style. The salon is warm and friendly. I found the staff to be well informed about their products. A great experience. -yvonne read more

Denise Oxen is the bomb! She does a GREAT job. I've been going to her for years and she never disappoints. I love the atmosphere and talent here. She is the salon owner, but I've seen the great work the other stylists do, and would recommend anyone overthere. Parking is easy, free and sometimes you can even manage a same day appointment. Wouldnt go anywhere else!! Worth every penny. read more

Okay to start off I went in on April 3, 2015. Needless to say I completely regret it. I spent $235 and my hair ended looking exactly the same except with a hair cut. The only reason I actually gave it a star was because of the haircut which was pretty nice. I went with Connie and I had visited the salon two days before showing her a picture of exactly how I wanted it, brunette with some highlight, at this time I had multiple colors in my hair since before I had a red ombré. I told her that my hair was very hard to manage yet she said she could do it. I came in 2 days after, at 9 am or so and left at 3 pm!! She colored it and the bleach wouldn't let my hair go blonde instead it made it red! I wanted to get all of my different colors off and I ended with more!!! She even told me I looked fine like that and to just leave it! It was obvious she was just doing it for the money and not to leave a client happy. It was awful I told her to dye the hair darker because I didn't want any red to show which she did. When I went to pay the bill she charged me for highlights which she ended dying back because she didn't know how to treat my hair. She charged me for having to dye it back which it was her fault because she couldn't do a good job. She also charged me for having to wash my hair five times when she dyed it like 5 different times and had to do it to get the dye off. It's sad because I had seen so many good reviews about the salon yet she ended being awful. I ended coming back home and dying my whole hair black to get all the colors she had added. I payed $235 dollars for nothing. It honestly was a WASTE of money that could of gone into my college tuition. I was so disappointed I came home and told my whole family to never go in there. My boyfriend was also with me and we talked to his family and told them what had happened. I don't recommend anyone dying their hair here and even less if it's with Connie. It was honestly a waste of my money. read more

I went to salon tivoli in Livermore for color and cut. They dyed my hair black and weed wacked the cut. I was furious! I heard of this salon and went to see the owner Denise. She...is...AWESOME!! she fixed the cut and made it look 100% better. The salon is also very beautiful. I like how you can get a man/pedi but book early!! read more

I went and saw a new stylist at Salon Vivace. April informed me that she just moved to the bay area and is looking for clients. I am very picky (after a terrible experience at a Livermore salon) and she gave me exactly what I wanted at a reasonable price. I will be back. If you decide to give her a try please let her know that Casey referred you! read more

After reading a great review about Savannah, I booked a highlight appt with her. My current highlights looked bad and definitely needed some work. Marissa is a hair boss! I've known her from high school, found her on IG, and booked an appointment to update my hair. I've been in a bad hair relationship and I needed my blonde hair to look more modern and less brassy. I was also interested in maybe a subtle ombré and extensions. My first appointment was just to color my hair and ADD roots, yep that's right a blonde with intentional roots; in case you live in the dark roots are very in right now. Marissa hooked it up and I walked away a very happy girl! I've been told this kind of natural blonde wasn't possible due to the natural red in my hair but Marissa said "no way!" and made it happen! My next appointment was for my tape-in extensions, 3 packs, 2 different shades and 2 different lengths. I couldn't feel prettier, I absolutely love them! I couldn't recommended Marissa and tape ins enough! I left feeling like a mermaid princess and have achieved my hair dreams. I will continually come to Vivace and remain a client of Marissa. read more

Missy is an artist with hair. I have never been disappointed. She's fun and a pleasure to talk to.

Excellent service by both the receptionist and Marissa. First, they both were accommodating, culturally competent and so nice. Marissa seemed genuinely interested in me and engaged me, but when I closed my eyes to rest, she didn't force an interaction, which I appreciated. I wish more hijabis knew this was an option. The salon/Marissa were so accommodating and Marissa could even close the door for privacy-although not all the way (there was something blocking the door that wouldn't let her...). She heard me. She listened to the fact that I had a really bad experience a few years back that prevented me from scheduling a hair appointment in over 2 1/2 years. I had knots in my hair when I arrived, I was so embarrassed, but she was so nice, took her time taking them out, and gave me a great haircut, highlights and style, even though there were multiple demands on her time during my appointment. I can't wait to go back for a follow-up in a few months :) My hair is a bit shorter than I thought we would go, but I feel that happens whenever I get my hair cut, no matter what salon/stylist. I think if length is really imp. to you, you should spend time saying that "When dry, my hair should be this length, no shorter." I gave her the go ahead to go shorter, so I wouldn't take off a star for this. I was so surprised at the price at the end of the appointment :) I had to confirm with the receptionist that I heard right because I thought it was going to be $100-150 dollars more than it was. Wish the receptionist scheduled the follow-up right there and then, but I was in a rush to leave myself b/c I was worried that I didn't park correctly on the street-the only downside-only street parking. All in all an excellent find! read more

Had the best experience here today with Savannah. I had been to other stylists here in the past and have always had a good experience, but they no longer work at this salon so I tried someone new. She took my vision that I had in my head and made it a reality. I had the pleasure of having Denise do my hair tonight. I have been so bored with my long shapeless hair for a while now but i am picky and was nervous about going somewhere new and decided to just go for it and called Salon Vivace. I was able to get an appointment same day which was awesome. When i got there a young woman shampooed my hair, i didn't catch her name i feel terrible but she did a good job, good massage when the conditioner was sitting for a few. Denise asked me what i was looking for and i explained what i was looking for and showed her a pic and she started cutting. She was friendly and did an amazing job. I will be back for sure. What a pleasant break from the norm. This salon is in an historic house in Pleasanton and whomever decorated with a fantastic job. My stylist was Katie Tavres - what a wonderful young lady. At first, she had a barrage of questions and it seemed odd but, after a while I got it. She wanted to know how I wear my hair so she could do the cut around my bad habits. So, another bad habit I have is cutting my own hair. When I am at my desk and, if my bangs won't stay out of my eyes, I go a cut my bangs. I'm a technical writer and not a stylist so you can imagine what they looked like. But, she worked around my styling snafu and fixed it all up. I greatly recommend Katie for her styling and coloring expertise. And, let's not forget how important conversation is when you're at a salon for hours. Although Katie is young, (and I am not) she was able to keep me engaged with some pretty interesting conversation. Thanks Katie - I'll be back. read more

I stumbled in about 30 minutes after a botched haircut at another location and I was desperate. I am beyond thankful that they somehow fit me in during a full schedule. I was lucky enough to have Taylor and I have no idea how she worked the magic she did but she turned a terrible haircut into one of the best I've ever had. She was friendly, outgoing, and professional. She has a passion for what she does and you can see it in the quality of her work. Hands down best haircut experience I've ever had.
