We came around 11pm and was greeted and helped by Aldo. Aldo was a great host and offered great food and wine recommendations. We had the dry aged steak, gnocchi, Rome Style Artichoke, Mussels and a bottle of La Breccesca. Everything was fantastic! The steak was cooked Florentine style so it was definitely more on the rare side but I love my steak rare anyways. Great place for dinner and so many options around for drinks and gelato afterwards.

They offer indoor and patio seating. Their appetizers like fresh cut prosciutto were delicious. We enjoyed our pasta dishes very much. Carbonara was good over rigatoni. The shrimp scampi risotto was the best we ever tasted. The service staff forgot the artichoke appetizer we ordered so it never arrived but the waiter was apologetic and very understanding once we inquired about it. Overall, this is a very good place to eat. Some dishes like the shrimp scampi risotto were world class dishes. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The staff was friendly with limited English but we were able to order and have a little bit of conversation with our server. Complimentary olives (with the pits) are served. What we ordered: - Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe - great flavor was not heavily seasoned with pepper and noodles were al dente - Rigatoni alla carbonara - this is not like the American style but still had great flavor mostly from the guanciale, noodles also cooked al dente - Spaghetti con vongole veraci e carciofi Thin slices of artichoke with clams over spaghetti, really didn't have much flavor With so many restaurants in Rome to try, I probably would not return but it was a nice place to stumble upon

But looking at our bill- we got charged for the following but did not get: Mazzancolle alla Griglia (did not order and did not get). They also brought over Tonnarelli Allo Scoglio which we did not order but ate thinking it was part of our order. They came by and said it was a mistake and still charged us for that as well. I'd be very careful to look at your receipt and understand exactly what you're getting. We lost 41 euro. Granted we actually received one of the two dishes we were charged so it was "less of a loss". We won't be making this mistake again. Tourists especially be aware. Be firm with your server if something doesn't look right. We had let it go with the language barrier, but looking back, it felt dishonest. More.... Pasta dishes were ok, but the shrimp was not fresh or deveined. Spaghetti pomodoro e basilico tasted like they used canned tomatoes. Overall ambience seemed clean though. All pasta was al dente. Giving 2 stars is generous considering what happened. Service aside from the confusion seemed generally nice out of courtesy but not kind and there's a big difference. We definitely felt rushed since they probably wanted to keep turning tables. I was expecting more since we had read all the great reviews prior to booking. Just be careful with the bill to make sure you aren't getting swindled.

Food: 3.5 Service: 3…read moreAmbiance: 3 We came across this restaurant on the way back to our Airbnb. Upon arrival it looked like a small restaurant, however there were stairs that led to the large basement with many seating. There were pictures all over the walls, perhaps famous people who have eaten at this restaurant. We were given a bag of bread (5 slices) while looking at the menu. It was not stated in the menu, that there is a charge for the bread, but we expected a small fee charge. So we ate it anyway. It tasted like stale bread, and while ordering, they took our unfinished bread away. They charge 1€ per person for the bread. We had high hopes for the food as there were many pictures of people on the walls. The bruschetta we ordered was big and very enjoyable, juicy and crunchy. The lasagna was good and had a good ratio between noodle and sauce. Personally, the cacio e pepe tasted like a cardboard box, however very aldente. It was my first time tasting cacio e pepe so I'm not sure what it usually tastes like, but I don't think it's supposed to taste like cardboard. For this restaurant, you go back up to the first floor to pay whenever you are ready! When we were paying, I saw a small cockroach on the walls crawling under a picture.
