We were thinking about visiting Sicily someday, so my wife Googled "Visiting Sicily" while looking at travel ideas, and this wonderful little restaurant popped up. Since we were heading to the US Open, we decided to stop for breakfast. What a find! We had an amazing breakfast in this cozy storefront and thoroughly enjoyed our conversation with Nicolas, who made us feel right at home. Such a great small and quaint answer fully authentic experience. Literally an oasis off the beaten path where as soon as you walk inside, it's like you've stumbled into a Woody Allen Film, in a really good way. the food is great and the priced are pretty good. After viewing them on Instagram, we knew when we came to NYC, we had to try it. We've been to Sicily twice and it's very hard to find good quality Sicilian food in Pittsburgh. They didn't disappoint. My husband's family is Sicilian so we got some takeout of the arranchino to take to his family in NJ. We all absolutely loved them. They were so crispy and flavorful. The Raghu was perfect. It reminded us of the ones we had in Taormina. We also had to try the bombolini which were so tasty. Loved them! When we go back to NYC, we'll have to actually go there and try more. Really good cappacino and very nice owner who is from Sicily. The arancini was delicious - a great place to come for authentic Sicilian cafe vibes. The biggest compliment also goes to the cappuccino as good Italian coffee is hard to come by. Some coffee is too bitter, or too watery, but it was absolutely delicious for breakfast. I stumbled across this little spot by chance, and I'm so glad I did. It's a small counter-service café with outdoor seating, and since the weather was beautiful, sitting outside made for the perfect addition to our day. The guy sitting next to me was eating what looked like ice cream in a cup with a warm brioche bun. I asked him what it was, and I ended up ordering the same thing. I can't remember the official name, but it's the "Italian Breakfast" that's listed on the menu. It came with a warm, fluffy brioche and an almond-flavored granita, and the combination was so good. Sweet, refreshing, and surprisingly perfect together. My friend ordered the Pistacchiosa, which I tried. The cheese was incredibly soft and creamy, the bread was fresh and delicious, and the pesto tied everything together perfectly. On top of the great food, the man working behind the counter was so friendly and welcoming. Between the food, the cozy atmosphere, and the kind service, this was such a great find. For summer, they have granita, aka Italian water ice. I had lemon with strawberry. Good combination. Not too sweet. I recommend pairing it with brioche. You scoop the granita with a piece of the brioche. So good and refreshing. read more

Visit Sicily is run by two Sicillian guys, who make simple traditional flavorful food. The place is very beautiful but very small. The place was open a few days and was already pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon. I wish it was a bit larger so we could stay, but the place was full. We got the capuchino with pistachio cream and the pistachio bomboloni. Both were incredible. My son loved sipping some of the pistachio capuchino. The bomboloni is like a yeasty doughnut with sugar and filling. I like that the pistachio flling was not overly sweet and just right. We also tried the panelle e crocche which is a sandwich of thin fried squares made with chickpea flour and fried potato balls. It doesn't sound like it would work together, but it does. I really wanted to try their arancini, but it looked like they were out of it. Perhaps next time:) read more

Came back a second time to get the cappuccino and the Panelle Crocche. While the sandwich still remains a favorite, the cappuccino is very disappointing- and I can go as far as saying it's on the "10 worst cappuccinos I ever had" list. It was again lukewarm and it just wasn't right. I definitely expect better from an Italian owned and operated business. read more

Again, another place that's been on my list. I came here and there was a small wait to get inside. Once it was my turn, I quickly shuffled to the front to see what the hype was about. Before me stood all the things I used to see on a daily basis when I lived in Sicily. I was so exited I didn't know what to get. As I mentioned in my other reviews. I had quite a few stops to go to, so I knew I couldn't get too crazy. I ended up going with the meat arancine and got it to go. There's very little space to sit inside, so unless you get there early that's your best bet. My first few bites were heavenly. The inside was soft but packed with meat and rice. You could taste the flavors in each bite and once I bit into it, I knew I made the right choice. I wish I had more time to try more things, but that's what next time is for! read more

Absolutely delicious food. Rice balls were huge stuffed and crispy on the outside. Nutella bomboloni was the best dessert ever itbwas fluffy and the Nutella wasn't overly sweet the powdered sugar was just enough sweetness. Little ricotta bites are absolutely wonderful the inside was creamy outside flaky and perfect to have with coffee. 10 out of 10 must try. My husband read about this little amazing place online. So of course we had to visit! There were 5 of us and they quickly set up a couple of tables for us outside. We grabbed 2 pieces of pizza and 3 rice balls to share. They even cut the pizza in pieces for us to share. And yes, the thick crust pizza was large enough to share. Although I could have easily enjoyed a piece on my own. But we were just stopping for a snack. read more

Visit Sicily NYC felt like I stepped into someone's home. Like I was sitting in my Nonna's kitchen. Such hospitality and warmth. Taking me right back to times I've been to Italy and Sicily. From the moment we walked in, we knew it was going to be special. We originally planned to take our food to go, but they warmly insisted we stay and eat there. I'm so glad we did. Once we sat down and ordered, the food began arriving with such care and generosity. We had the Arancina Accarne, and with the first bite, I was transported straight back to my Nonna's cooking. The Panelle e Crocche was absolute heaven, and the bread left us speechless. Everything was fresh, comforting, and made with so much heart. For dessert, we ordered the raspberry Bomboloni and in true family fashion, they added a Bomboloni alla crema and two espressos on the house. Just like family would. They also sell in-house Olive oil and Pomodoro. Which you must take home with you. Don't even get me started on the Reginelle and Buccellati. We purchased them and I haven't tasted anything close to my Nonna's baking until I had these. I'm so happy this place exists. I no longer have my Nonna's but now i know exactly where to go whenever I need a little bit of memories that remind me of them. read more

We have been waiting to visit since their opening. Amazing guys, extremely hospitable. We came around lunch time - they were able to accommodate our group of 8. Tight fit but worth it. We tried all three arancini - prosciutto, vegetarian and meat/peas. We also had the bolognese and a special pasta: shrimp, pesto and pistachio which was delicate and delicious. So, we got Bomboloni and both of the Cassatas. Both tasted really good. My only issue was the Cassatas were both small and they are 9 bucks each. A lot cake shops that charge 9 bucks, you bigger slices than what was given... the Bomboloni was a nice size. read more
