Warm, gooey custard, delicately flaky crust, not too sweet pastry - an excellent pick me up for those afternoon doldrums or a breakfast accompaniment to your morning latte. Whether you're a maximalist choosing dusting your pastry with powdered sugar and/or cinnamon, or a minimalist preferring the pristinely naked flavored pastry without embellishment, you'll be taken care of here by the cheerfully accommodating staff in this one-of-a-kind specialty locale of yellow sunshine!

Cute little store front very close to Washington Square. They had a ton already prepared and they were warm. We got them with the powdered sugar and cinnamon. Shell was very flakey and we were surprised by the filling being more custard than we are used to for a Portuguese egg tart. Overall, big fan.

Traveling in from NJ for a NYC trip. Walked (by choice) over an hour to visit Nata. Found them online. Awesome idea to support a Portuguese Native. Cute little spot. Owner was not there. Employee there was still nice. There was a deal for 2 Natas- $8.00 (1 is $4.50). I ordered the drink Cinnamon Cortado. SO GOOD. So tiny. Maybe there were sizes? I didn't get asked what size or maybe Cortado is just 1 size. Seemed a tad bit bigger than my finger lol. Reallllly good. Was hoping so for the price of everything. I enjoyed and wish them success!

    The husband ordered his!

We were in town for the wknd and made sure we wouldn't get on the plane without a box of these delicious Pastels de Nata. Our family member had visited a couple of weeks back and she had posted it on FB. OMG I was back in Portugal the nata was perfection and the dough was nice and crispy! I'm not embarrassed to say but we purchased 14 pastels! And yes the husband did get coffee. He is from Portugal and I have visited Portugal and we over indulge in these delicious Natas! Trust me you can't go wrong! The staff and Owner are super friendly and will greet you and tell you his story! It's a hidden gem and they are so fresh! When I come back to visit NY/NJ yes I will take a detour just to stop here! It's a small place, so you order and take it to go or just small section to eat your pastels!

OMG!!! I was so blown away! These tarts were so delicious and I'm sad I didn't buy more. I got a box of 6 and my family and I devoured them so fast. Def add the cinnamon! The staff at the store was also so nice and welcoming. We will def be back.

Nata was a small, bright, cheery place with Nata that took us back to Lisbon. After trying other pasteis de nata in NYC, these were by far the best and most authentic. Highly recommend to stop in for a quick treat or two!

Frangos Peri Peri is a mini Portuguese chain specializing in said African-Portuguese dish. The most…read morewell known chain for this spot is Nando's with a few in DC but there's none of them here. There's a a couple of these spots with the original one being in Middle Village (in queens) but there's also a few other locations as well. I went here with one of my less common groups to sample some of the tasty food here. The head was ordering for us as he had a mild/moderate spice tolerance so we stuck with the less heat focused options but it was still tasty. The service was alright being pretty friendly but not with the best English. I presume the guy spoke Portuguese or something similar. The drink selection has a good soda fountain with more unique options than most. We started with the hummus listed as hummus with a drizzle of peri peri sauce and served with nachos or pita bread. We got it with pita and it was fine. The hummus had a fun spice kick from the peri peri but had some of the creaminess you'd associate with a hummus. I presume they don't make in house but the peri peri was a nice touch. We got two of the Whole Grilled Chickens, Lamb Chops, and the Beef Bites as the main. The former was with a mix of mild and the garlic and herb. The chicken was pretty sauce and quite tasty. A bit of heat but not much as expected but they did have some sauces on the table which helped kicked it up a bit. The lamb chops we got with mango and lime. You couldn't taste the lamb much from the sweet sauce but it was tender and tasty. Pretty solid but tiny chops for the price. If you're looking for something more substantial based on price, the beef bites with flame grilled bite size beef served with rice & salad or fries was probably the most filling. We got the lemon & herb for the beef and the beef could have been a bit more tender but it still had a tasty sauce. For sides, the Grilled Cauliflower was probably the best of the group also having some peri peri on it. The Seasoned Fries were also very tasty with a tiny kick. The Coleslaw was luckily not that watery but lacked a bit of flavor and the Spicy Rice wasn't that spiced and the salad was standard with a creamy dressing. It's hard to rate this spot. The chicken was solid and the food overall was pretty tasty but I find the prices a tad high for just about everything with especially the sides being overpriced for the sizes. Still solid though and I can see why it's liked by a lot of people. Mid 3?

WHAT A GEM, SO CLOSE TO IT ALL!!!! MWBE-owned business,…read morewonderful selection of Chine se-Portugese fusion cuisine. We've been here a handful of times, so a review is overdue. We visit when we have a rare date night and always enjoy ourselves. Always warmly greeted by the owner, who guides us to "our" table, no, I'm not telling you which it is. I dream about their Mushroom & Truffle Croquettes, they're perfectly crisp and cheesy. The lemon really adds to the flavor combination. We are routine ppl so we always get the Porterhouse for two. I know there's many delicious dishes to choose but we love the perfectly medium steak, topped with sea salt, accompanied with crispy potatoes and bok choy(I might be wrong). For dessert my go-to is their Coconut Panna Cotta topped with fruit. It's amazing, light and a perfect ending to your meal here. You'll come back again and again.

The standouts on the menu were charred octopus and crispy calamari, but other than that, everything else was incredibly subpar. As a group, we were able to sample a bunch of dishes: - African Chicken (visibly dry after cutting into it, and somehow tasted worse than it had looked) - Steamed Fish (while the fish was in a broth, this (and the rice on the side!) were somehow both overcooked) - Char Siu Baby Back Ribs (good flavor, but a bit dry) - Lobster Noodles (lobster was slightly dry & overcooked, noodles were fine) Definitely nothing to write home about, and we honestly didn't want to order more food (even though we could eat more) because we were already disappointed by the dishes thus far. Overhyped and would skip next time! *side note: the Happy Hour Menu (Sun-Thurs 5-7PM) is only available for bar seating.

You are given a very nice complimentary salad before the meal. The menu is very extensive with many specials. I ordered the Sirloin Cap with Pineapple. The dish is enormous! The steak was served with broccoli, rice, and potatoes. The steak was well seasoned and cooked. There were two large slices of delicious grilled pineapple. It was enough for two meals! I had the Passionfruit Mousse for dessert which was fine. I would recommend the Orange Cake instead. This was a perfectly good meal, and I would return.
