I stopped here shortly before eating nearby after noticing a place that sells these wonderful Brazilian treats. If you treat them more as miniature truffles, the prices aren't really that high for the quality and for the area. The place was just closing and they were nice enough to open for a few minutes so I could pick up something. I decided to get a mix of three. Traditional with sprinkles: This was a basic delicious brigadeiro. Very sweet as expected with a good texture. Pistachio/pistache: Very good with the nuts helping reduce the sweetness. Dulce de leche with walnuts /doce de leit com nozes: The inside is a bit overkill as the filling of brigadeiros are condensed milk already (almost made the inside more of a caramel) but the walnuts were tasty. Probably my least favorite of the three but more unique than the rest. Good little treat store. They also sell acai bowls but there's other places I would prefer to get that as well as some other Brazilian treats (very good looking pão de queijo for instance.) read more

Slightly pricey at $9.50/slice but worth esp since i shared with another person. The 4 leches was super sweet, probably eat it with coffee or tea. The strawberry with white chocolate was also good but not worth $7. They only offer the strawberry on weekends. The person serving us was nice and we didnt have to wait but as soon as we left, a crowd had formed. They don't have indoor seating except a small bench by the window and have 2 tables outside which can be cold in the winter. Otherwise, highly recommend if youre in the area. It was exciting to see, and they were also super friendly, informative, and passionate about the product! I tried a few brigadeiros. The first being, the classic chocolate one. It's rolled in chocolate sprinkled and loaded with....richness! Yes, these mini Brazilian treats are rich, so keep that in mind. I have a big sweet tooth, so I don't mind it at all. I loved the rich, chocolate, fudge-like center. It's so interesting because it's fudge-y, but not quite fudge....hard to explain. My best explanation would be that it's....magic! Lol! I also tried this cute black and white brigadeiro. This one was probably my favorite, as it gave a combination of flavors. The third one I tried was banana flavor, which was also super rich, yet tasty and similar in taste to banana bread! Aside from brigadeiros, Brigadeiro Bakery does offer a plethora of other yummy baked goods. I also tried their chocolate brigadeiro cake, which is loaded with that same fudge-y, chocolatey goodness that you get in their traditional brigadeiros! The truffles here are amazing for anyone with a big sweet tooth. I really enjoyed the chocolate one and the black and white one was nice for the texture and flavor (my favorite of the trio). I had purchased these for a friend for her birthday and was excited to try them when I ran across it during a walk in the village. I got the white chocolate brigadeiro, banana cinnamon and Dulce de leche walnut. They are these deliciously bite sized Brazilian candies. They are a bit pricey at $2 each when you buy three. My favorite banana cinnamon as both flavors came through in balance for a delicious unique bite. If I was back in the area with friends, I would return to try different flavors. So in love with these desserts! I live far from here but will definitely be going out of my way to pick up some things here whenever im in NY and whenever i want to get a sweet gift for somebody. I tried the signature brigadeiro along with a few other flavors and they were all delectable and just perfect. Perfectly sweet, great texture and lovely presentation. Everything and more that i love in a dessert. There are lots of gimmicky and instagram-type dessert places in NYC that will real you in with beautiful pictures but will greatly disappoint you with their taste and price. Its so nice to find a dessert place in NYC that actually is not just there as tourist bate and is authentic, unique and so tasty. 10/10 read more

I had the zenergy smoothie which is an açai/blueberry/some other berry smoothie. It was refreshing and tasted closest to pure açai in Brazil. Brigadeiro wise it was not for my friend and I. But it's not the cafe's fault. I was reminded that I did not enjoy any brigadeiro when I visited Brazil because it is simply too sweet, tasting like pure mushy refined sugar (no real chocolate or other flavor taste and also just too sweet compared to a much healthier date energy ball). This spot is hidden in the "corners" of NYC. I would have never known there is such an awesome place if not for my Brazilian friend. She said you have to try this place, it's really good and authentic Brazilian chocolate. She went over this complicated process, they do not use sugar, they use a can of condensed milk to make this yummy item. They have a lot of sizes of Brigadeiro, from golf ball size to bigger versions of this dessert, and lots of flavors to choose from. Not happy that I have to write this review, but I feel that anyone who is looking to give Brigadeiro Bakery business should know what they are getting themselves into... My wife is Brazilian, and the one thing she wanted for our wedding earlier this month was Bem Casados (a Brazilian wedding gift pastry, means "well married!" in Portuguese). We had a few different options in the US that we were looking into, and we decided on Brigadeiro Bakery because their website looks legit and their shipping costs were very reasonable compared to competitors. I spoke with the owner Mariana a couple times, explained our order and emphasized the importance of the pastries arriving the day before our wedding. She assured me everything would be taken care of and we made our payment upfront ($500+ order). The week before our wedding, I tried getting in touch with Mariana multiple times. I left her messages and asked her to call me - wanted to make sure things were going as planned and that the order would be shipped on time. She never responded. The day before the wedding (when the Bem Casados were supposed to arrive), I received a notification from my Shop app that the order had shipped... the day before the wedding! They were supposed to arrive that day and should have been shipped at least 3 days before. I called Mariana and left a message. Only then did she give me a call back. Essentially her team had screwed up and they forgot to ship the order out on time. She apologized and told me she would overnight the order so they could arrive on time for the wedding still. I bought into this, and the day of the wedding we spoke multiple times and she made it seem as though she was on the phone with UPS and was trying to get ahold of the driver to make sure they shipment was prioritized. The wedding was on Saturday and the Bem Casados arrived on Monday... which makes me wonder if she actually overnighted them. All the while, she told me multiple times that if they did not arrive on time they would reimburse me. I have called her 5 or 6 times since the wedding and she hasn't answered. Had to take measures into my own hands and dispute the charge with the CC company. Very unfortunate. Seems like a good business from the website, but nothing from my actual experience makes me feel that way - complete opposite. read more

This bakery isn't quite the quintessential bakery; they specialize in their eponymous brigadeiros, which is a Brazilian (someone fact check this please) confection/dessert. They remind me of little balls of fudge, but better. I recommend all of their brigadeiro flavors (you can't go wrong here). Pistachio is one of my favorites. They also sell other items in this bakery but I would def also recommend their chocolate cake. It's cake with layers of the same brigadeiro fudge and it is simply amazing. I ordered 3 brigadeiros for $5.50 (passion fruit, pistachio, two lovers), honey cake (spice cake with dulce de leche coated in chocolate), and I got one free churro brigadeiro thanks to Yelp. I really liked the honey cake, the spice cake was tasty and not too sweet. The brigadeiros were a bit too sweet for me except for the passion fruit one. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I got the cake ($6 for a huge slice) and tried a couple of the brigadeiros (3 for $6). The pistachio was bomb and almost tasted like mochi. But everything else was incredibly sweet and a bit too close to the consistency of carrot cake almost? It wasn't the like other cake that are moist or creamy (or both!). The culprit is probably the condensed milk for both the sweet and the consistency. The staff is awesome and definitely worth a try! I wasn't a huge fan though. read more
