The door was locked when I visited and as I was walking away, one of the owners called me back. That was a good thing as these currant rolls were amazing! Flaky with a hint of sweetness, I liked the The beef and chicken patties took me to flavor town and back. The crust was a little thicker than I would have liked but whether I took a bite out of the chicken or beef, both were really good! The service could not have been more friendly. I was truly aimlessly roaming the neighborhood waiting for my reservation at another restaurant when I came across Allan's Bakery. I was given a ginger smoothie sample to try and that got me hooked. An icy, punchy ginger smoothie on what seems to be another muggy hot day in NYC really hit the spot.

I found myself in the LES and noticed that there was an Allan's location in the vicinity. Having gone to the Brooklyn location over the years I had to stop in. It's a small brightly lit Caribbean bakery that sells the items I remember purchasing growing up in Flatbush. I picked up Coconut roll Current Roll Fish cake Fried bakes Service was fast and pleasant. Unlike the BK store I was the only customer around 5:30 so I was in and out. The items were as good as I remembered.

Allan's Bakery is Caribbean-centric bakery that serves up a small menu of savory eats, sweet items, breads, and coffee and tea drinks. it's a small modern bakery store located in the Lower East Side. there's no real seating in the shop as it's a compact space, but the interior is well organized, clean, and brightly lit. it seems to be a grab and go spot and it's located only a couple of blocks from an F train stop. stopped here weeks ago and grabbed a drip coffee to go. coffee was solidly fine as it is via machine. this very much a store selling baked items, not a coffee shop. while the sweet items look good, i went for the savory and got a beef patty and a small bag of baked fried. the beef patty had a soft yet flaky crust--the beef filling is well-seasoned but not spicy. definitely a good small bite when you're on the go or want something satisfying but not filling. the baked fried is basically small round pieces of fried bread that are slightly salted fluffiness and are rich bc they are fried but not oily. fried bake is typically paired with other savory eats like cheese or eggs or Trinidadian salt fish. to me, they were fine on their own almost like a fried dinner roll as a snack. the service is pleasant and quick. don't think any baking is done on premises but the food is solidly good and different from your typical offerings around the Lower East Side.

The orange has a base made of chocolate Rice Krispies. All of them have more fruity filling than the mousse. They are very fragile. I recommend eating there if you can. Finding can be a challenge because it's busy and there aren't many seats. I got mine to go just to be taken to the park across the street . The mushroom kind are totally ruined. It has strawberriy jelly and it was a mess. The orange one was almost ruined too. The mango has some diced mangoes. I devoured three of them instantly. Definitely come back to try more.

Yummmy!!! What a cute and unique dessert boutique! So many choices but what makes this place stand…read moreout are its adorable and colorful mousse delicacies. The inside was packed with folks! There was no place to sit down because of how busy it was but the staff kept the line moving quick enough. The place still seemed reasonably stocked with their desserts and treats, despite the late afternoon time that I arrived. I ordered 4 different treats to go and they're packed in small box individually. Unfortunately, they didn't quite stay intact during my trek back to my hotel and were tumbled around in the boxes. Nonetheless, the taste and flavors held up well and even after a few days in the fridge. The yuzu daisy has this vivid pastel yellow-pink base and adorable gelatinous yellow gem atop a white flower. The yuzu gives a subtle infusion of tart that is balanced out by the light delicate skin texture of the rest. Sitting atop a thin round rice crispy. I loved the red mushroom one which is a creamy pink mousse inside the cap. The stalk is a thin porcelain-white chocolate light base also filled with a rich cream. Adjacent are two cute little tree nuts. The orange and mango have such vivid colors and are aesthetically pleasing too. Just like the previous ones, their delicate chocolate exterior houses a rich tarty mousse-y filling. I think the mushroom has a better balance and variety of flavors. Although I don't eat mousse treats often, I look forward to trying some of the other ones in the future, like the blueberry, banana and cloud.

This used to be my favorite Italian bakery. I haven't been to this bakery in years like ten years…read moresince I was a teenager. Today I decided to make a special trip to go here to grab a few goodies. I forgot how small the place was and how low the ceilings were. That wasn't an issue though. The place was nice and cakes were stacked neatly. What was surprising to me is that they don't have any cookies laid in the front display. It's all placed in the back almost hidden. I was deeply disappointed with their cookie selection. It was deeply surprising that they don't sell the butter cookies that had jam in the middle and dipped with chocolate on one side with sprinkles. I did ask the clerk and even showed him a pic of what I was looking for and he said they never sold them. They only had the linzer cookies and they didn't look so good. They also did not have the lobster tail. They did have the sfogliatelle which they also called a lobster tail. I thought they were not the same? Some bakeries sell both and they are definitely not the same. I did end up buying one of their sfogliatelle with cream and some rugelachs. The sfogliatelle was good but the rugelachs tasted slightly underbaked. It did taste fresh though unlike many I've had in other bakeries. However, for $28 per pound, I wouldn't get it again. For those not having lobster tail and not having the Italian cookies, I will have to give Veniero's a low rating. I never thought an Italian bakery would not carry staples. Very disappointed. I need to find another Italian bakery now.

I had never heard of the place before, but I was happy to give it a try -- and I'm so glad I did. From the moment you walk in, the experience feels special. The store has two beautiful double doors that create such a grand entrance, and once inside, you immediately feel the energy. The place was bustling with people, and everyone seemed happy and excited -- from the customers to the team behind the counter and the baristas. The cookie case was overflowing with so many amazing choices that it was hard to decide! I ended up getting the Rocky Road cookie, a Double Chocolate Chip cookie, a Two Chip Chocolate Chip cookie, and a blueberry muffin to enjoy for breakfast the next morning. The service was absolutely impeccable, and everyone I interacted with was warm, friendly, and delightful. When I got home, I had half of the Rocky Road cookie with a cup of tea, and it was incredible. The cookie was large and chunky but still perfectly enjoyable -- not heavy or overwhelming. It literally melted in my mouth. The chocolate was rich and smooth, and every bite was just delicious. The next morning, I tried the blueberry muffin, and it was just as impressive. It was light and airy, not overly sweet like many blueberry muffins can be. It truly felt like a breakfast pastry. The blueberries tasted fresh and burst with flavor in every bite. I will definitely be back for more cookies. This was such a wonderful find, and I'm so happy my coworker introduced me to this place!

I will say that I didn't think I would like this cookie at all since usually I like thinner crunchier cookies. But holy cow!! I was blown away by the crispy edges and the interior wasn't too soft gooey either. The chocolate and walnuts added to the cookie enhanced the flavor even more! For such a big cookie the middle was cooked perfectly. Very chunky and sizable cookie too so I ate it throughout the day rather than one sitting!!
